@MrJmrk92 Not because I didn't get to see it when I was little, but because the one time I did see it, it scared the living daylights out of me. 15 years later, it's much less scary. Still a little scary though... :)
Rasputin was a evil man, in this song it really shows you how desperate to kill the royals and Anastasia. That's why he didn't die from the poision, ect. He was
@MsMerlin15 That was never proved as a fact. Someone just didn't like Rasputin enough to say that he betrayed them. They then still had contact with Rasputin until his murder in 1916.
While this movie in general uses a lot of artistic licence on the history, Rasputin in real life was actually really, really creepy. From wikipedia "Three days later, Rasputin's body, poisoned, shot four times, badly beaten, and drowned, was recovered from the river. An autopsy established that the cause of death was drowning." Poisioned, shot, beaten... and he didn't die from it. o.o
@HelloYellowBird And he was a womaniser, believed he was magical.... He basically thought he was a Russian Jesus. I remember studying him in Highschool and we all agreed Rasputin was crazy and freaky...
@HelloYellowBird He was also the castrated, and shoved through a hole in an icy river to drown him. They found his body downstream with ice crystals under his fingernails.
@HelloYellowBird He is one of those few men in history that is so shrouded in mystery that all we have to rely on is somewhat strange rumours and legends. We know he helped Anastasia's younger brother recover, (nobody really has any conclusive idea of how he did it). He was rumoured to have had an affair with the Tsarina, though there is no evidence that he did. He's just one of those strange guys.
@LePhantomessa Impressive, but not quite as much as his work in The Lion King; replacing Jeremy Irons WHILE Irons was still in the song and sounding exactly like him. Although true Jim Cummings fans can spot the difference. Barely though
@Kaiju17 Seriously, you pretty much have to know exactly where the two switch out to spot the difference. If you weren't even aware of the switch, you'd never have thought it happened.
No, the person singing this song is Jim Cummings. Christopher Lloyd only provided Rasputin's speaking voice for this movie. Jim Cummings has provided voices over the years for Winnie vthe Pooh, Tigger, Scar's singing voice for the tail end of "Be Prepared" for "The Lion King", etc.
Haha, I remember me and my cousins marching around singing along to this part, being the minions... little weirdos. Still great song.... IN THE DARK OF THE NIGHT EVIL WILL FIND HER!

@ChristineHTH No, you're not the only one. It's a good song, catchy, but the tune's kinda Disneyfied compared to the lyrics. I s'pose it *is* a children's movie.
@Lamporre hhm i agree with u on the visuals, but in all fareness dude, the song from the movie sounds some what catchier in the movie than it does in the cd version, the cd version doesnt seem to have the same boomy beet as the movie, and the bass sucks in this one

he didn't die of poisoning because the poision used got inactive when the poisioners baked it in i thought cake.
he didn't died being shot because they didn' t hit a pulsing-vein, and beating almost never kills you.
The fact that he lived so long is mostly because he was darn lucky the assassins were a bunch of braindead morons.
