The current emulation misses a lot of the framebuffer effects, like the ball trail, split screen, or the replay screen effects, and stuff like that that enhances the graffics.

Sure it's playable, but it's not 100% accurate.

There's a slight glitch in the system or the AI's not as smart. You're winning several points that you should lose. You're setting him up to smash you, and you simply just volley it over for the win. In real life, this would be a very difficult shot to attempt and in almost all cases you would lose the point instead.

I have heard something that is only slightly true depending on the character like wario

if you're charging and you hold a direction such as back and to the side right before you swing go to the other side your shot will be curved and slightly faster depending on the timing

it works really well with dk luigi and wario but not many others

@knuddelwuschel As far as I know, you can only control your ball from left to right. Depending on how long you charge up your shot for, it may go a bit farther, but other than that I don't think there is a way to hit a lob or any other shot deep into the court.

That being said, tricky and technique characters have better lobs than power characters, so their lobs may go a little deeper.

@knuddelwuschel o answer to ur question i cant lob to the back of the court. Its fairly easy when the ball comes to you repeadidly tap the lob button then hit. I know it sounds weird but it works trust me!

@knuddelwuschel you can make it lob further to the back if you start by pressing A to lob but charge and hit it by pressing B. Additionally, if you start by pressing B before it gets to you and finish the hit by pressing A to charge and hit it, it gives a weak hit with a little backspin.

espnfreak89: The only reasons I prefer the GC version it because theres more variety of courts, players, and the power-shots, and, of course, better graphics. other than that, though the n64 one is quite a bit more challenging, especially if you use a transfer-pack to transfer Nina, Kate, Alex and Harry. playing through the cups with those characters varies with their level from the original GBC mario tennis, though.

Actually I think Toad is the hardest to beat. Try playing against Toad as a star character on Max and on Waluigi's and Wario's stage without putting the star on your character. Play it a couple of sets and notice how it makes much less mistakes than the rest of the other characters.

Mario Power Tennis for the Cube was OK at best. The graphics were great and the gameplay was good, but it was annoying that you earned those special save hits that would keep the computer alive and the volley going for hours!

That isn't true. It all depends on which character you choose and who your opponent is. For instance, this kid picked DK, which is a power character. This made it easy for him to overwhelm Mario, which is a weak opponent in my opinion. If he was Mario and he played DK, the result would not be the same. It would be harder.

That's not true at all. The computers in this game often stand right in the center of the court in no-mans-land to hit the ball. It's easy for anyone to beat them once they figure it out. The computers are also easy to predict.

Compared to most of the characters in this game, Mario's not weak at all. He's actually stronger than most of the other characters besides the power players.

What i meant was that DK has a power advantage over Mario. It's super easy. I tried Mario versus Bowser and that was actually easy too. Bowser was too slow. Playing Wario is more difficult b/c he has power and is not that slow.
