blind mag is the perfect role for her, if you like SB you should watch this whole movie, she is very well-cast in it...the scenes where she explains why she leaves the opera house explain why she takes out her eyes and why she chooses to die overall...if you're already part of the repo opera i apologize for over-explaining, but if you're not you should watch it and see how she brought so many people on board (like myself) to watch and love this film.

As for the voicing thing, I can't say for sure, but I'm pretty sure that they did what most musicals do: Play out the scenes, then record the actual music in a studio and sync it with the footage. If you've ever seen a vigorous dance scene with someone singing that totally sounds fine, that's why. xD

I was in amazing seats. Along with the  mic part you mentioned, you could see her little body contorting as she belts the high notes.

She also sounded completely different on some songs. She changed Let it rain and Fluers Du Mal a little. Phantom was best ever.

It is just so very obvious she is live. To here someone say otherwise is insane.

I can honestly say she was in the best voice of her life that night. I was so blown away words can not describe...

I really doubt she is lip synching since the volume of the voice changes a lot according to the distance from the microphone. I say this because I've gone to two of her concerts in front row seats. I went to the Symphony concert, thank you very much. And it was just as obvious to me then, as it is watching various youtube clips. All of her performances from different venues sound exactly the same!

Also, she even uses old recordings! Hijo De La Luna/Storia D'amore are the same as the albums! WAWW, Dust in the wind, nella fantastia, la luna are all the same from the Harem tour.

Live concert and live vocals are two completely different things, and no, I don't think "hearing" the vocals "live" is a decent way of looking at the fact someone is lip syncing to pre-recorded material. Her voice isn't live. She is, but her voice isn't. Very, very different.

I do believe that not everything was live in that show but that's not normal, you have to maintain your voice as much as you can.

Maintaining ones voice is different than lip syncing an entire show. Celine Dion lip syncs to preserve her voice...Sarah has total reliance on it. She physically couldn't sing many of the numbers she performs.

What about the fact that there is no orchestra, yet pieces like TTSG, FDM, POTO...all require bombastic orchestrations? Where's the great choir for lines in CDT, FDM...

Pre-recorded. It's sickening watching her take a bow for credit she doesn't deserve. I'm fine with her early work. :D

There was no orchestra probably because of the economy. Paying for an orchestra is likely to be very expensive so they're probably cutting back on costs. Same for the choir, though they did have backing vocals and used the dancers as the choir but it's obviously not the same. There are many reasons why Sarah lipsyncs, but you can't be so sure of why she does it. So why do you care? If you're so unsure there's no reason fussing over it, we're not going to get a definite answer. Just live with it!

This movie was made by Darren Lynn Bousman, producer of the SAW movies. That what you call "fake" was actually intentionally added to the movie. It was their intention to make this movie more as a stage-opera than a film. That's why the sounds and effects look "un-realistic".
