  • mi banda favorita...¡¡¡Racer X!!!

  • sounds like horrible crap.

  • retards think that if you play slow, it equals feeling and that if you play fast you have no soul but it tends to be the other way around. I wish these fools would shut the fuck up and learn to play

  • hey man i need this bootleg pls tell me wher can i get and i need more bootlegs i have jus the extreme parts =S i need dvds and bootlegs =( pls tell me i need metal at my vains

  • hey man i want this bootleg where can i find? =O i need it!!!!!!!! and i need dvds too of this holy shit =O pls tell me ;'(

  • not a bad cover. gilbert nails it. the vocals--well, gotta love cali

  • its so stupid how every video with a great guitarist someone always has to put that oh they dont have soul or feeling when they have never even heard any of there music....second heat is a great album gilbert shines on it

  • I prefer Steve Hunter's solo work on Train Kept A Rollin' as heard on Aerosmith's Get Your Wings. Yeah, that right folks. Steve Hunter not Joe Perry played on get your wings on several cuts. While on the subject. Perry didn't play all the guitar work on Toys In The Attic either. It's one of Perry's skeletons in the closet. Paul Gilbert s is bad but he lacks feeling. It's like you're blow away for the first 50 notes then you totally forget what you even listened to.

  • @wadintheeye Paul Gilbert lacks feeling? What?

Have you heard the same Paul Gilbert as I have?

Listen to some of his solo work, and then tell me he has no feeling.

  • @wadintheeye You obviously haven't listened to his music.

  • @wadintheeye lol there I guess a guy has to get flack for his opinion... Here man I'll deflect 'em,

I DON'T LIKE VAN HALEN, HIS MUSIC SHOULD BE CALLED POP INSTEAD OF ROCK.

  • @WhoCaresJay van hagar=pop... van halen with david lee=rock

  • yeah

  • i like Paul & Scott..

  • HOLY DOGSHIT

    it was so good

    good times

  • The Yardbirds did a better job, but this aint too bad ...

  • They can keep their Paramore and nevermore crap!

Speed metal from the 80´s will always kickass!

  • dude nevermore is a great band, paramore sucks shit though

  • @bernhardtsen74 Hell yeh!!

  • is it possible to get a DVD of this concert?

  • not much of a crowd...

  • Yeah,...tis is the Aerosmith version they are playing off of,...not the Yardbirds version..

  • Wow well ..that was entertaining

  • I didn't ask you anything boogerlip

  • This is definitely designed after Aerosmith's "Get Your Wing's" offering imho... Or at least Paul is following what Joe Perry did.. I love it and thanx for posting!

  • no,,,who are they???

  • LOL thats funny as hell i nvr had sum1 ask me who led zeppelin wuz

  • it amazes me that an old blues song can be pumped up into a heavy duty,,,kick ass,,universal appeal song,,long live rock

  • I guess you've never heard of Zeppelin. Lol

  • LED ZEPPELIN BITCH lol guess ur to young for it then

  • I think this was at the country club in reseda. I was at all their shows. These guys were fucking awesome.Paul and bruce tore it up!

  • Man those amps are louds!

  • aww man the guitar is perfect though!!

  • Seeing 16 4x12 cabs on any stage is always a good thing. :]

  • oh it definitely is lmao!!!

  • Or, introduce some good playing into it....like here. : )

  • paul gilbert is just insane....great cover..

  • YEAH!!!!

  • great cover!

  • i prefer the original

  • I was at this gig, this was at the country club in reseda. I used to go see these guys every week in L.A. This was unbelievable!

  • I played the guitar Paul is playing at Musicians Institute. Incredibly fast neck.

  • this reminds me more of the aerosmith version than the yardbirds one~

  • um look at ur name...

  • dick, but I still like the yardbird's one~.

  • yeah it's definitely based off of aerosmith's version.

  • To be honest I hear more Yardbirds influence in this than Aerosmith. The Aerosmith version just flat out sucked, it was too slow and almost felt restrained, while the Yardbirds' version (like this one) was faster and had a more driving rhythm and beat.

  • you obviously havn't heard aerosmith's version from classics live, the racer x version is baiscially a copy of that

  • I'll be honest and admit that I haven't heard that version before, so it's probably likely that it may based off of that one. But just from the Aerosmith version I've heard, when compared to The Yardbirds version, this just sort of sound more Yardbirds influenced to me. But like I said I haven't heard the version you mentioned so I could definitely be wrong.

  • yeah i know the aerosmith version you're talknig about, and it's damn pathetic, but the live version is faster, more yardbirds sounding, with a very hard driving rhythm and it's faster.

but i really think that mr big used aerosmith's live version as thier base

  • lol i said "it's faster" twice

    im tired......

  • you think the studio version of Aerosmith's is weak? I think it rocks.

  • onemadmod, I doubt from your words you have ever heard the Aerosmith version...

  • Hello Lagomort. I'll be very honest here, I had heard Aerosmith's Train Kept a Rollin, maybe about the first 2 minutes of it, and while Joe Perry's fretwork is impressive, it did feel slow. However, following Himmbobo's suggestion I did give it an ear for more than 2 minutes and I reached the part where things speed up. So I must admit it is a pretty cool version. I now feel that this version draws from both Yardbirds and Aerosmith (although maybe a bit more Aerosmith). But that's just me.

  • i think its most like the Motorhead version

  • lol paul fuckin gilbert, god DAMNIT. too good.

  • this song rules, both this and yardbirds, and motorhead, and skid row, and aerosmith version... and, and, and, and.. hahaa

  • damn Paul tore that solo up

  • bruce was tearin it up at the end haha

  • that solo was ace!

  • fuck you

  • he may not have a good grove in this video but now he could play over that really well

  • i don't doubt it voodoocigam.

  • this is racer x they made this song their own by shredding it out. its supposed to be like that. your a fag. when you cover a song you put your own style in it.

  • This just might be the greatest travesty in the history of music. Entertaining? yes. Forgotten? thankfully.

I love how their appropriately small stage is nothing but amplifiers, 80% of which are purely for show. Silent amplifiers.

    Funny stuff! Thanks for posting.

  • nah, gilbert always used all 9 4x12 cabinets; they wrecked his hearing

  • youre a snob aren't you?

  • you fuckin jackass

  • Forgotten? not by thousands, if not millions of aspiring guitarists

  • You have to take it within the context of the time. Racer X kicked ass and remains one of the most legendary bands of the 80's.

  • 1. I totally agree with dtfan08

    2. Jeff Martin, although a good vocalist, looked so fucking gay in the 80's. Seriously.. I want to kill him for being such a douche back then.

  • Dream Theater does the best covers of any band-even though their original music rules. You name it dt will make it sound amazing. Their red barchetta's good(rush)and starship trooper(yes)Maiden,Priest--whoever. They're all awesome imo . Paul Gilbert with G3 this summer !!

  • Aerosmith do a better cover of this song.

  • Racer X Rocks !!

  • Drunkentig3r train kept a rollin and stroll on are the same song by the yardbirds. stroll on is just retitled for a movie.

  • aerosmith do a really good cover of this song aslo in there live dvd you gotta move...kkoooooollll

  • LMFAO

  • I find it kind of odd that (and if I'm wrong, please say so) that the Yardbirds used the same tune for two different songs: "Train Kept A Rollin'" and "Stroll On"-I can't differentiate between the two. Great video, but personally I prefer the original.

  • Johnny Burnette Trio from 56. It rocks, has the first fuzz guitar (loose tube in the amp). That's the version that inspired The Yardbirds. Tiny Bradshaw's original is cool cause it's the original, but it doesn't rock that hard. Good time swingin R&B. I love the Yardbirds but their version suffers because of Keith Relf's vocals. The engineer had the bad idea to mix 2 takes of vocals, (that are not in sync). "Stroll On" from the film "Blow Up" is better. (Beck's solo is better on the former)

  • just shows you how raw the yardbirds were at their time that every generation of "hard rock" can cover their stuff...don't like 80's metal too much though.

  • What was the year of this performance???

  • Great song, but I feel this performance had too much shred and not enough groove for my taste.

  • Great song. Seems like every generation or rock n' roll, somebody cover's "Train Kept a Rollin". Also proves that blues is the roots of all rock! In actual fact, this was a cover even when the Yardbirds did it! It was originally written and performed by Tiny Bradshaw's Big Band in the 1950's...

  • Tiny Bradshaw's version was a cover. The original was the Rock & Roll Trio with Johnny Burnette.

    Ron

  • Actually song was written by T Bradshaw/L Mann/H Kay in 1951. Tiny Bradshaw's version is the original.

  • I am corrected. Thought for sure it was one of the lame pop covers of a rocker common back in that day. Damn did the rock % roll trio dress that dog up and teach it to run.

  • Yes they do, they're a metal band, duhhh

  • cool vid but do they really need that many speakers in the small venues they play

  • Excellent Vid...shows how much they were influenced by Aerosmith too.

  • wowwwie! nice vid fan =), and is that paul using his telesavales?
