I never had those growing up. I wasn't really interested in them, actually. I actually made a toy, or a stim toy that was made of nylong plastic and pens that I liked how flexible and managable it was for me, despite them being a bit too big, but I wasn't complaining. After a while, I found a rubber wristband perfect for me and my busy hands, depending what kind it is. I had one that has in the center 'iRenew' that feels really good in my hands. My right hands anyway. LOL!!
as a child that kind of stuff was horrifying me, don't know if my sensation differs that much from other Aspergians. slubbery, flubbery, squishy, I didn't want to touch it, i thought it was poisonous or cursed^^ I don't think plastic and rubber are the right materials for over-sensitive people like aspergians. wools/cloth appear much warmer and friendlier to me...
But it was painful to listen to the audio with headphones when it only comes from the left one...or is that just some problem on my part? I think not because those beep sounds came from both left and right.
Extremely entertaining! I'd like to recommend Lego too. If I still had some I'd be playing with it all the time. Umm... and if I wasn't a grown-up :'(
Normal stress balls never really appealed to me, but I often enjoy haveing small squeezes when I come across squishy balls I enjoyed giving them a squeeze, I just worried that they were only for children.
Great video - as usual :) I had this stuff as a kid called 'slime'. It was green squishy stuff in a pot that you could pour out and squish between your fingers - but it never stuck to anything. I also had a playdough machine that sliced up coloured dough into different shapes. The dough had this wonderful smell. However, I think these toys were banned for health/safety reasons :(
Slightly unrelated, but you gotta love Lego! At 18 it's going to take a lot to make me get rid of my old Lego. Also a very good stimulus for creativity. Love the video's Alex. It's nice to know that you have an interest in filmmaking like myself. I made a video called Lost In Thought which is based around autism and imagination. It would be great if you could drop me a comment.
Alex - Hey!!!! It's Sara Larson with PlayAbility Toys. We met in Dallas and you interviewed my friend, Bud Fraze, the owner of PlayAbility Toys. You did not include him in this section????? What happened? We have been waiting and are super excited to see the footage you took of him. Regardless, love your show as always......hope all is well with you!!!!! Take care - Sara.
@playabilitytoys we will be including him in a future episode. I'm not sure if it will be the next episode but judging by the popularity of this episode, we will certainly be including him in an episode soon.
Great episode GREAT EPISODE!! I loved it! You guys had me laughing all the way through the end! Chinese yo-yos are fun, too. Nice work, Alex Plank. Great plug for your Land Rover, too :P

I wonder what the rationale for the 2 dislikes was.

My bearded dragon doubles as a living "stim toy". Petting and playing with her give me the same results as stimming.
