There are a couple of problems I see with using OLED as active camo is the fact that OLED emitts light. So if you stood in the "shadows" the OLED screen would be black, but there would still be light.
The biggest issue will be cost. Any active camo system will be WAAAY more expensive than say a ghille suit.
@Proxius1 yea but money is completely relative to the power of the maker. currency itself holds no value. if they were to implement something like active camo based off of this tech im sure it would be extremely effective even if it only works in the daytime. and with something so powerful your enemies can effectively fight back against it wouldnt take long to subdue them and and expand your power and societal grip - which in turn increase the value of your money again.
DARPA probably came in their pants when they heard about this it opens possibilities like the active camo they've been wanting to get their hands on instead of using light-bending materials they can just use OLED clothing then again nanotech clothing that changes patterns and colors is being made in japan so exciting we're finally getting to the future we see in movies lets hope it turns out for the best instead of a doomsday scenario
soon our soldier's will have OLEDs and small sensors and cameras on their armor to make their armor change camo patterns to suit their environment or even mimic it completely

There are some virticle black bands that appear as the screen bends, but as a prototype, its awesome.
