  • Who has read Outlander? It is a very popular fiction novel that presents Culloden by a writer that did the research.

  • I love this, it's very well done! Is there any way to see the whole battlefield experience online?

  • VIVA LA SCOZIA....ABBASSO I BRITUNCOLI

  • LOL SCOTTISH PEOPLE ARE WIERD

  • @IVANNCHESNOKOV we are indeed

  • @IVANNCHESNOKOV Why do you really think the Roman's built Hadrian's Wall? :)

  • non-English members makes no difference. And English Tories only objected when Scottish Labour votes threatened to prop up Labour - but they had at the time no problem with Ulster Unionists previously helping prop up former Tory govts. Scots on the other hand had a real democratic deficit when the Tory UK govt stopped treating Scotland as an equal partner in the union and starting thinking about Scotlandshire. Pushing through hihgly unpopular legislation in Scotland on the back of English seats

  • whinge and moan about the fact that Scotland has devolution. Fact of the matter since its modern inception as the UK of GB&NI we have always had a devolved constitution. Stormont was only ever suspended temporarily. There has never though been a West Belfast Question and it was only when a Scot pointed out there was a West Lothian Question that it became an issue. The difference is England suffers from what is largely a theoretic democratic deficit. In the vast majority of cases the votes of

  • Do any of you idiots realise that this battle was basically Lowlanders & Protestant Hanoverians vs Highlanders & Catholic Jacobites and not Scotland vs England? Almost all of Cumberland's troops were Lowland Scottish so it's most likely that @1:15 that Jacobite is smashing in the face of another Scot.

  • @XxtandcmancxX With all due respect, even the way you describe it is an oversimplification. The sides at Culloden were not Highland v Lowland or Protestant v Catholic, I even doubt that most who fought at Culloden actually gave a monkeys about the Stuarts or the Hannovers.

People found themselves on whichever side due to whose land they were living on, local grudges, or whose cat pissed on their fence. There were highlanders and lowlanders on both sides and also protestants and catholics.

  • @XxtandcmancxX Wrong, it was more about Scottish Protestants vs the Catholics, the idea of Lowlanders vs Highlanders is just a unionist propagators written attempt at dividing Scotland.

And no English soldier who fought for either the Protestant or Catholic side wore Tartan.

  • Sempre me emociono quando vejo qualquer coisa que fale sobre a batalha de Culloden. Gostei muito do video.

  • What a beauty @1:15, smash that Engaylish bitch face in.

  • Scottish+english=British we are a united nation im scottish but dont hate the english we can kick america's arse in fact we should they are a pack of idiots....

  • Bunch of freaks ! L M A O ! WHAT DO YOU KNO ! Were you there ? Only someone else's depict....haa.... humans.....will believe anything ! For real ! Haah !

  • britain is forever damned. such brutality will never be forgottn

  • @mobiusmaximus

well since so many Scots thereafter served in the British Army (never mind all the Scots who actually served on the Govt side in 1746) it seems to have been.

  • @lusophile47 that of course is true in the years after many scots did join the British army as a way out of poverty. The same can be seen in Ireland as poor people saw it as a way out of the poverty too and the Scots and Irish were reprisented in the Empires army that spread over the world. Even unil the 1960s it wasnt uncommon for poor people especially in Dublin to enlist in the British army, my friends mother did just that.

  • can some one tell me what was the cause for this battle

  • @adambelfast1 I'm assuming by your username that you're from Belfast. Well pretty much for the same reason as the battle of the Boyne. 2 royal family's bitching over who had right to the throne, In the case of Culloden it was the Stuarts and the Hanovarians. And as always us common people had to fight and kill each other so one of them could have the throne.

  • people who debate on historical battles are trolls. there is nothing to debate or change historically what happend happend keep your ignorant views and twisted beliefs to yourself and quit pretending you have the power to change the world by what you post on youtube

  • people should know the red coats are mainly Scottish in this battle not English oppresers , actually there was English peasants among the Jacobite's who were supporting the movement as the jacobites wanted to invade england as-well at some point and there was English jacobites waiting to join them , so learn you history before you start saying the English were there to oppress because there was hardly any English there lol

  • @cambershots There were a lot of highlanders fechting for the government forces too. My own clan Campbell of Cawdor did, so it's nice to know that my forebears knew how to pick the winning side :D

  • Scottish Twats got owned (again) in their gay skirts the big pansy's England Rules !

  • @EssexGamer Idiotic cunt, this has nothing to do with Scotland vs. England, this was LOWLANDERS like Glasgow, Edinburgh and Government Forces (English, Scottish & Welsh) defeating Rebel Highlanders. What do you mean "(again)", Scotland has never been defeated you clueless cunt.

  • @truefalse Your the fucking cunt who comes from aload of fucking crossdressers you fucking scottish twat hmmm maybe you should read the 2 top comments from another 2 scottish cunts !, scotland's been fucked over loads of times especially by us english we've won more battles and william wallace got split into a shit load of pieces the fucking transvestite. Now go lift up your skirt and sit on your gay lovers tiny cock you scottish fucking wanker.

  • @EssexGamer Scotland has never been defeated, England has been defeated off of the Romans, Saxons and more I think. Scotland has never been fully invaded and conquered unlike England and Wales. What does some English chav on Youtube that can't type a proper sentence without swearing like a retard know?

  • @truefalse Oh yeah because you never swore and the best you can come up with is i am chav thats original. There was no England when the romans / saxons were around dumbass, Scotland has been invaded and conquered by the Norwegians and also England. I would get more sense out of hadrian's wall.

  • @EssexGamer Scotland wasn't conquered by Norwegians... Norwegians SETTLED in the Northern Area's of Scotland and its Islands, they basically contributed to Scotland's population.

  • @truefalse Settled as in in held parts of scotland hmm more like conquered you can change whatever words you want but you can't change the fact that it happened.

  • @EssexGamer No, it never happened. Scotland has never been conquered and its a very well known fact along with Nepal, Sweden and Thailand. The Scandinavians (not vikings) settled in the Northern Islands of Scotland, where no man lived, and gradually moved further south to Northern and North Western Scotland over the years. The original inhabitants of Scotland are the Picts, then later Scots tribes came over from Antrim area of Ireland, hence the name Scotland.

  • @truefalse well England has never been conquered either and I think you mean scotti

  • @EssexGamer England and Wales were conquered off of the Roman's.

  • @truefalse As I already said there was was no England / Scotland / Wales during Roman times.

  • @EssexGamer Yes there was, Scotland was previously called Wales and England Britannia I think, there was still English land, people there to at least attack the Roman invaders.

  • @truefalse Correct however the people that lived in England at that time were called Britons and were no different to the people living in wales or scotland they were not English. English & England comes from the Saxons & Angles that came about after the romans.

  • @EssexGamer The Scots largely descend from the Caledonian Pictish tribes of ancient Scotland as the OGAP4 haplotype shows after 12 years research (1996~2008) so they are not the same as the English.

Scottish blood is Pictish blood, they are one in the same in all but name.

  • @segano1 Ok what is actually correct is at the time when scotland was inhabited by the pict's the area that is now England & Wales was inhabited by Brythons who were still a celtic people like the pict's however England & being English came from the Saxon's & Angles etc who settled long after.

  • @truefalse Cont...As some texts show the Irish referred to all of what's now Scotland (previously Alba and Caledonia) as 'Cruithne', historians believe that the Cruithne of N.Ireland were yet another Pictish sea fairer tribe like the Goddodin of Strathclyde (South Scotland) originally from Scotland that often travelled from S-W Scotland to N-E Ireland and back again, later the term and meaning "Scotti" changed once again and became Anglicised to "Scots" which meant - Raider, Pirate and Predator.

  • @EssexGamer Scotland was previously called Caledonia** .. I said Wales lol

  • @truefalse So essentially the Scots are largely the same people they were in ancient Pictish times of old Scotland as research proves, they were referred to as different names by their enemies and allies and just about everybody they came into contact with before they became universally known as "Scots", the world back then was unknown to what it is today, it was far from universal and globalised, people still thought the world was flat and that if you travelled to far you'd fall off the edge.

  • @truefalse The tribe that came from Antrim/Ulster (N.Ireland) were known by the Irish in Munster and Connacht as "Cruithne" - "Tribe of the designs" in Old Irish, the Irish also used that name to refer to all of Scotland, where as in Scotland the Picts (early Scots) referred to the Cruithne as "Gaels".

"Scotti" is derived from the ancient Greek "Skoto" (Darkland), the Romans Latinised it to "Scotti" & changed the meaning to "speaker of Gaelic" - which included the Picts as they spoke Gaelic too.

  • @EssexGamer Cast the devil out, cleanse this postage of obscenity, go to your nearest place of worship whether synagogue, mosque, temple or chapel ask for help you will not be refused, remove your vile words and find a happy place for soul, you are inhabiting a dark place, be healed and spread the word.

  • @displexiaTNO Twat ! go dry hump a vicar!

  • @EssexGamer Gamer thy name be satan!

  • @Shawfield, and they can keep their Jacobitsm....who the fuck wants a papist king with absolute power?

  • The irony of all these stupid comments is that the highlanders were fighting to install absolute monarchy and the government troops were fighting to keep democracy. 90% of scots were anti Jacobite Protestants. This battle had nothing to do with Scottish independence, it was just a continuation of the Glorious Revolution.

  • @rapiddominace Lots of Higlanders were Catholic. They had no other choice and some were forced onto the Battlefied by the Jacobite gentlemen. at Culloden the supplies actually didn't come and alot of the men were extremely agitated and

  • the things that went wrong for the jacobites at culloden were 1; the failed night attack. 2; message to charge that never came. 3; the macdonald clan on the left completely wiped out by grape shot and stuck in the bog. 4; the lack of any sort of leadership on the right, resulted in a frantic charge and a crossfire. this was a nightmare for charles

  • ok history lesson....

Fact 1: Bonnie Prince Charlie position himself too far back from his line that unable him to see what was going on!

Fact 2: The majority of the British/English army was infact made up of Scottish Regiments!

  • i saw this at culloden on the 360 degree screen. quite a sight to see. my clan is leslie and some leslies did fight on the jacobite side at culloden some of them survived too.

  • @mouthforwar17 It's the same with mine; Jardine. The Jardines went from one side to the other however.. Always trying to be on the winning side.. oh the shame of it all lol.

  • @MrImk123 - It worked at Prestonpans and Falkirk , even had them running all the way to England.

  • The obese German - 'Butcher' Cumberland - had a great party trick which was to pull out the (flaming red) head of young Rory Mac Intosh - a Clan Chattan clansman - who 'Spartacus' fashion was murdered and beheaded in the mistaken belief he was the ONE (P.C.).. and the British labelled the highland Clansmen 'barbarian'. Read John Prebble's (an Englishman) objective account of Culloden and decide who the barbarians were.

  • I just found out, England takes away 90% of natural ressources from Scotland, lol

    Thats colonialism!

Scots will be slaves forever. lol

  • The Irish dreamed of Jacobitism, the English toasted Jacobitism and the Scottish died for Jacobitism!

  • What, no bayonets?

  • i genuinly know nothing about the battle my interest in history lies in older times i.e when dunfermline was the capital, can anyone recommend a good book on culloden thats informative but also interesting?

  • Fuck the union!

    Idependence NOW!!!!

  • @segano1 Why would you want independence you have your won parliament for god sake you would be a broke country just like Ireland if it was not for the UK. The UK has worked all this time why are you wanting to fuck with this system your not being suppressed your treated the same as every other citizen in the UK stop bitching and get over yourself.

  • @MrGeek91 I want independence because I want my country to run itself properly you dumb fuck, why else?

I don't accept paying foreigners to speak on our behalf to the world and tagging us along to every illegal war, the English were craftier in the days of WW2, they used the Scots as cannon fodder as the shock troops to cut down their numbers in Scotland, hence why Scots were 4 times more likely to be killed as the English were, as they put English life as more valuable than a Scots life.

  • @segano1 but you dont mind taking money from the english from north sea oil when we are the ones funding it.

  • @MrGeek91 What money? The North Sea is industry is largely about Scottish Oil, and yes it's Scottish Oil, even the UK treasury acknowledges that in the treasury books, hence why London based unionists like Labour classified the information in the 70's because they said Scotland would outperform the UK by an embarrassing degree, Scotland puts much more into the union than it gets back, so who is subsidising who?

England gets what it does because Scotland is still within the union state.

  • @MrGeek91 Look up the Diomhair video, particularly part 6, in the following link.......

    watch?v=S9BgbQ8fo6A

  • @MrGeek91 The United Kingdom, as it stands today for England, (and since the 70's for Scotland) is a social and economical disaster that is ruining Scotland as time goes on, the UK is not interchangeable with 'Great Britain', as GB is nothing more than a rancid 1707 political construct that has well passed it's sell by date, the UK on the other hand is a monarchy union that was formed in 1603 when King James VI of Scots took over the English throne along with the Royal Scottish house of Stuarts.

  • @MrGeek91 Scotland will be more prosperous for the future as an independent nation, it will rise and prosper rather than being kept weak, feeble and dependent (even though Scots aren't dependent) as a region of a shitty little Union state, these are the facts.

All you've got are unionist propagandist bullshit that makes you sound like you've come straight out of a time warp from the early 70's, Scotland gave the union it's chance in '79 and we were given the worst government Scotland's ever had.

  • @segano1 So much of the good stuff Scotland has is subsidised by the English taxpayer. Not only that, but whilst Scotland has their own parliament as well as having Scottish MPS sit in Westminster, England has no parliament. You guys are on the gravy train. You certainly get more out of the Union that England does.

  • @fourganger88 Nope, fraid not, Scotland subsidises the UK treasury at it's own expence and has done so for years, as far back as the 70's, look up the GERS report, year by year, Scotland puts in more than it gets back.

What you state is typical unionist myth made rubbish used to discourage the Scots from voting their rightful independence, your myths come straight out of the 70's and have only reared their ugly heads once again ever since Scotland reconvened it's parliament.

  • @fourganger88 Westminster cannot reconvene the English parliament without making clear to all citizens of the UK and the global community that the United Kingdom was simply a political construct of the 1707 treaty. The ramifications internal and external to the United Kingdom do not bear contemplation for the mandarins at Whitehall. It would allow for a major revolution in English political life, in which the English once again have a Parliament of their own.

  • @fourganger88 "England has no parliament" It took decades to actually get a devolved Scottish Parliament. One of the reasons being Scots are only a minority at Westminster. The English on the other hand form a big majority of MPs at Wesminster. If there was a true call for an English Parlaiment then it would happen. Simple demographics ensure that. It is an issue largely for the English though. Up until now rather than arguing positively for English devolution most of its supporters simply

  • Hundreds of French fought for Charlie at Culloden as well. Many came from Dillon's, Ruth's and Lally's Irish Regiments. They spoke French, they had French Manners and they had French homes, but their names were as Irish as peat.

  • Could youtube delete the rubbish that passes as commentary on this trailer... please...

  • I don't think collinchris paid much attention at school in grammar lessons "there side", or in history lessons, "cause their families were threatened..." Please read more books. As a foreigner, it's amusing to see the British education system turns out such fools. More Scots fought for the Duke of Cumberland than the Jacobites because of a hatred of the Stewarts. Go to any graveyard in the south of Scotland and learn about the covenanters to whom Bonnie Prince Charlie was like Osama Bin Laden.

  • proud to be a scot just run at the bastards with a sword

  • @auldtownboys having had a brief look at your profile, I can understand your prejudice, but websites are just a forum for the mad and the angry. If you want to be one of them, that's your choice. If you want to blame all your problems on England, then you're definitely one of them. Go and talk to someone before you hit your wife...if you have one.

  • sheesh...thank god us Scot's/Highlanders don't hold grudges and let bye-gones be bye-gones eh? ahem...

  • A lot of FAT soldiers at :57. No wonder they crushed the Jacobites.

  • @woodbinedrinker - LOL

  • Anyone who knows the history of the '45 and this battle will know that Culloden was not Scotland v. England. It was Catholic Jacobites aiming to restore Charles Stuart to the monarchy versus the Protestant house of Hanover, led by the Duke of Cumberland. Many Scots fought on Cumberland's side to settle long standing Clan feuds, most notably the Clan Campbell. Many Scots (especially lowland Scots) wanted no part in a Catholic Stuart monarchy, and so fought for Cumberland. Historical fact.

  • @henka467 You are absolutely correct. Unfortunately truthful history barely features in the largely made up myth of Scottish history being created by the Scottish National Party. Just as the nazi's wove a new German myth, falsifying history and creating an enemy to the nation (the Jews) so the SNP are doing exactly the same for Scotland, with the enemy being the English.

  • @thebigJM92 Right, and Mel Gibson lends a hand with his rediculous "Braveheart"

  • @henka467 uh ok that's nice

  • @henka467 Why thank you very much :D

You do learn something new every day :-)

  • @henka467 thats very true! i know that cause im from clan campbell :P we did that to excact revenge on those MCDONALD BASTARDS! xD

  • @henka467 - Too simplistic I'm afraid - Old Cameron of Locheil was a protestant. Other factors were at play including the Highland way of life and the unpopularity of the union. However , I agree with the rest of your post.

  • @henka467 You're right when you say the battle between the Jacobites and the British Government was not a war between Scotland and England (although many people think it was). And while it's true that most of the Jacobites were Catholics the main cause of this bloody and pointless war was not religion but one man's arrogant grab for power. It was good that Charlie lost. The Divine Right of Kings was a nonsense especially in mid 18th century Britain.

  • @henka467 you should read your history, there were Catholics and protestants on both sides, probably more protestants in our Charlies army than Catholics, people fought for their chief, not their King, that was the Clan system, you owed your life to your chief, not your King, please don't keep churning out simplified drivel, it was far more complex.

  • @henka467 your opening line was good then you followed with another myth.

  • you got your arses kicked

  • I am of the Family Clan that lead the charge that day...

  • im half scottish half english but i dont blame the scots for fighting for their freedom. fierce fighters indeed. Btw im part of the Clan MacLean :)

  • damn, these scots have ball to charge into british line with nothing but a sword and a wooden shield.

  • @deathknot09 aye, real fuckin men. not ponsified england lovers from our very own country. turncoat bastards.

  • Nottinghamforest... shut the fuck up. do you actually know anything about the aftermath of this battle? have you read accounts of the absolute barbarity meted out on innocent Highland families and townships? Scottish victims or not, the government soldiers actions in the months that followed the Jacobite defeat... was fucking disgusting. no wonder it is disallowed from the British Military's battle honours. But hey, youre probably too much of an arrogant sassenach to appreciate the love lost.

  • @notenglishandproud I can tell by your name you are a gigantic bigot. Every post you make like that proves your idiocy and once again tells me that Youtube is sorriest place on the planet to have a debate on the past.

  • @Spacepope3k call me what you will dude but you dont know me. i agree its a shit place to have a debate but some folk just need told. i can tell by your comments youre one of those wingeing tits assuming Scots reason for devolution. Highlander first, Scot second and third British because we were born without the choice. if you dont like that... then get on with your own life mate! btw... Scots in parliament ... best men for the job obviously!

  • @notenglishandproud born without a choice? Your ancestors made your choice for you. The ancestors who make you so "different" from us!? If a scot and an englishman stood next to each other, you wouldn't be able to tell the difference. Scottish devolution in a globalising world would be economic suicide. Scots in parliament? Best men for the job? Don't make me laugh.

  • @Spacepope3k aye, which means i was born without the choice. have you anything less obvious to say? of course you wouldnt tell the difference but what sets the UK apart is england, all her neighbours have very strong celtic heritage. and dont like england. i tell you what will make you laugh though ... i dont see the sassenachs running the country. i'll rest my case on that one.

  • @notenglishandproud And you name "notenglishandproud" already suggests to me that you are an ignorant twat. What if I had the name "notafricanandproud"? I rest my case.

  • @Spacepope3k if that was your name then im sure you would have your reasons.. i dont think it would make you 'an ignorant twat' however. as im sure you have your reasons for being a space pope.

  • The right to the ownership of Scotland is with the Scottish people, not the British, English or anyone else! Now is the time to assert that right! The control of Scottish affairs and destinies should be with the Scottish people, and not with any foreign government! An independent Scotland would guarantee civil liberty, equal rights and equal opportunities for all Scots! It is now time for us all to proclaim our rights and regain our national freedom, sovereignty and our place in the world!

  • @weareScottish "not the British" erm... you are British... Scotland is in the British Isles and a part of Britain. You have your own parliment. There have been Scottish Prime Ministers in London but no English Prime Ministers in Edinburgh. You are an idiot and your only arguement for devolution is that apparently Scottish people are treated like second class citizens and deserve equal rights. Whatamireading.jpg.

  • If anybody watching this video wants to know more about the Battle of Culloden, I strongly suggest they visit the website advertised at 1:20 or buy a book written by a professional historian and ignore the high strung opinions of the below commentators.

  • anybody seen the battlefield britain movie for this?

  • @m78991234 Yeah, it's pretty sweet.

  • IF WE WON THAT DAY, WE WOULD HAVE CALLED THE SHOTS OF THE UNION, AND WOULDNT HAVE THE BUTCHERS APRON ON EDINBURGH CASTLE

  • FREEDOM FIGHTERS !!!!!! FUCK THE RED COATS

  • It's so satifying seeing that bit at 1:16, and that's only a snippet...

  • A wee short arsed Poof!!yup everything about Culloden was nothing about him,the bonnie prince was a jumped up wee toff who thought he was invincible and knew nothing in true form about war tactics,he fluked a few battles yes but he underestimated the goverment army..But the scots and every other country that was involved stood firm and under certain death they pushed forward.Whatever happened that day, whatever country they came from.God bless each and every one of them.

  • aye the scots got beet.. but we put up a brave fight against much better equiped english men.. we'd do it again for sure.. cause we are proud to fight fir our country. a bet if the scots had the same kinda equipment the english did we wid have stood a better chance

  • You stupid fucks. If you bothered to think rather than just believe everything that fat bastard Alex Salmond says, you would know that Culloden and the Jacobite rebellion was not England vs Scotland. It was Jacobites vs Unionists. Most of the redcoats at Culloden were scottish, men who didnt want the French puppet Bonnie Prince Charlie running their country. Charlie's whole plan was based on gathering support from northern England as he marched south. He didnt get it so ran away like a girl.

  • @thebigJM92 Alex salmonds a homo!!!! WTF are you talkn about??!!!

  • @collinchris I didnt say that Alex Salmond was a homo? WTF are you talkn about?

  • @thebigJM92 He is tho, dont put that jumped up twat and culloden soldiers in the same sentence please..!

  • @collinchris Oh rite i see what your saying. Fair enough.

  • Comment removed

  • Scottish not brittish!,

brittishness is tea, crumpets, morris dancing, monacles, gay accents, scummy chavs, scummy football hooligans, and the queen...

Nothing Scottish about any of that is there....exactly!

What a beauty @1:18, a Scot demolishing an eng

  • @segano1 IGNORANCE!!! Thats not what it is to be British you fuck! You have just named some customs of English people during the1700's-present day and Chavs have nothing to do with being British!

  • @david21085 Yes it is you dumb fuck.

Brittishness is just a way for engiland to act like it's all one country when it's not and never will be, at last people world wide are waking up to the decievement cased by westminster.

    Chavs are english FACT.

  • @Englanistan IF England wanted Scotland to be part of England, it would have done! Like what happend to Wales. I am as Scottish as you, you are as English as me, togethor we are British. Sotland and Britian have achieved so much togethor united, David tennant, Billy connolly both believe in the Union. Sir David Stirling founder of the SAS swore his allegiance to the UK. Our Ancestor have fought and died togethor to preserve this Union. 2/3 of scots still believe in the Union! Learn your shit!!!!

  • @david2108 Engayland could NOT make Scotland part of them if they wanted you fuck, THEY TRIED FOR CENTURIES AND FAILED MISERABLY, JUST LIKE THE BASTARD ROMANS DID!!!

Wales did get made part of England because it was conquered, the Engaylish tried to do the same to Scotland for over three hundred years and failed badly!!

And Scots and English did not die to preserve this rancid outdated union, that was WW2, to stop the Natzi taking control of Europe, Scots died for centuries to keep Scotland free

  • @segano1 Scotland also tried to invade England a few times and failed, badly! The Scottish independence wars was a different time period! England did appress the Scots but as education improved people began to see more of a point to the Union, that and Scotland was in huge financial trouble which England payed off! Scotland did win its freedom and is an equal partner in a great Union! also, How is the Union out dated? we have a bigger economy, army, living standars...etc because of it!

  • @segano1 Jeez !! wot an embarassment you are. Take it you play the pipes, eat shortbread and wear a kilt ?... so all English people have gay accents then lol ?? .. nothing worse than a NEDISH GLESGA accent..

  • @segano1 ur obv not including glasgow in that discription of scotland. god awful scummy place

  • @segano1 So there are no chavs or football hooligans at the Old Firm derby, then, are there?

  • @THthefirst and somehow there are no longer any more chavs in glasgow either it seems...

  • @segano1 British is being size proportionatly the best country in the world

Whats scottish? Stereotyped as drunk, gay kilt wearing, boring, depressed heroin addicts who are laughed at by the rest of the world...

    Sticking by stereotypes still?

  • @jacob79793 What a load of rubbish, Scotland is seen as a proud nation of Warriors, which most of the World see, south of the border talk continuous shite about Scotland, if Andy Murray wins he is British, if he looses he is Scottish, etc. Only idiotic cunts south of the border (England) see Scotland the way you do. We are looked up upon by many other Countries.

  • @jacob79793 There's no way you're Scottish, you're another Eng cunt posing as Scottish to hide your bias, only the Engaylish view the Scots by those things you listed, Scotland created the modern world you dumb fuck.

As long as Scotland remain in the union they'll be kept small as the union holds them back as a region rather than a full nation which is what they are so fuck right off you gay tights wearing, Spotted Dick munching, faggots scoffing, depressing, queer accent, queen loving poof.

  • @segano1 Are you mentally ill? Looks like it.

  • The Jacobites had it rough once they landed here in Canada, the scottish were the largest demographic in Canada in the 1800s, gaelic only speakers made up 20% of the population, even with the oppressive language laws the english passed banning the language, the culture still thrives and gaelic is on a steady rise in Nova-Scotia

  • Dryckeskvade...The Irish troops were "wild geese" , regular French regiments part of France's "support" for the cause...and as such, were treated to the due formalities expected by regular armies when surrendering., rather than as rebels/traitors. The common Highland people suffered for the games and ploys of politicians and Kings.

  • Highlanders also fought for the Government side.

  • It was a massacre, and most of the British soldiers were scottish anyway. It was all of the scottish infighting and civil war that caused their collaps not the British. If they could have united they may have had a chance of winning. But they never could. So they lost...

  • we diddnt lose either, in the end we both won

  • @honkyonspeed The Scottish are British.

  • Charles Edward Stewart and his "cause" became an embarrasement and an "inconvenience" to the French after nearly 30 years and a weight around their necks...so they dropped him and any support they previously had for him.

  • The French, who were backing this "mischief" and rebellion in Britains back yard, their priorities changed on the continent and they were looking at the rest of the World. It would be another 30 years when they backed a far more likely to succeed and ultimately succesful rebellion against the British.

  • For me 2 questions remains unanswered. 1: why did the french turn their backs on the highlanders and 2: I heard there have been foughting Irish alongside the jacobites as well, but Ireland has not sent that many troops, dunno if that is true but it seems strange that 1 cultures of the same ancient blood not heavy support their other culture, both Irish and scottish decent from the Celts.

  • @dryckeskvade The Jacobites were made up of Highland Scots, Irish and some English. The opposing side was largley Lowland Scots, English and a few Welsh.

  • bloke said in a pub aye...?

  • The real crime of the Battle of Culloden was the aftermath, the destruction of a way of life, a culture, a language and essentially any possibility of a future rebellion. I live in Strathnairn where we felt the brunt of the aftermath, my folks were MacIntosh's and the MacGillvary's that were prominent in battle were then eradicated from the Strath as punishment, along with many other families. We still fight for our freedom of culture in the Highlands, but it's a losing battle. It's not over!

  • just stop nicking the pickled eggs from the chippie...yo'll be fine.

  • wow i think a saw like 6 fat brittish guys

  • alot of the clansmen were professional soldiers who had fought on the continent, also the reason they didnt win the battle was 1.the prince had fallen out wae atholl and wounldnt listen to his strategy 2.the night attack had failed 3.the troops were cold, hungry and worn out and of course many highlanders had simply slipped away during the night after a year away from their home steads.

  • here we have the problem : on 1 side, independency is wanted, on the other side, unified for economic prosperity. I think that the solution lies in finding a mid way in it that satisfy both sides. Correct me if I think wrong but this is how I think about it.

  • If I may? am not brittish but I am dutch. Think what happent if enitre britain becomes all separated, like united independent Ireland, schotland and Wales, what if Ireland is once again for the irish and so on? Think about the trade an economy, I believe if that happens then all de parts that did make great britain will feel the suffering from it, and will result once again in war.

  • Why? Many other countries have their freedom to express their culture and to have pride in themselves but we are still being suppressed (especially in the Highlands). It's not just that Scotland would be financially better off, it's that we would have our own voice again. Is that not worth fighting for? Every day it's a struggle to be heard over all the noise and hot air that comes up to the Highlands to tell us how to live and why we should be ashamed of who we are. I just want to breath free!

  • Bonnie Prince Charlie was a coward who ran away and left his soldiers to be massacred.

He also broke the iron rule of warfare; never take guerillas or tribal fighters on the field against trained infantry.

  • I'd fight again, thousands would. Simply to claim back what was so brutally taken from Highlanders.

No wonder Culloden is frobidden to be included in the British armys battle honours. What followed the battle was disgusting.

  • Bonnie Prince Charlie was misled by a government spy who infiltrated the jacobites, he said there was 9,000 government troops guarding the entrance to london, which turned out to be a lie, london was in dissary and fear of a catholic uprising, had the jacobites advanced there is a strong possibility they could have overthrown king william, they were followed by government troops on their march back up north which resulted in the events at culloden

  • this fatty English soldier in 1:00 is really funny, I suppose that Brittish army didn´t have any problem with supplies jajajaja

  • mair scots were on there side??aye cause there families were threatened and tortured to fight for the english..what choice did they have!!then the english raped and murdered innocents after the battle..however the true scots lost the battle, but we stood and died for our cause, and we'd do it again!!

  • @collinchris

what a load of complete twoddle. The lowland Scotts were not tortured and threatended to fight fot the English. Stop playing the victim card

  • read your history mate..they were tortured before, during and AFTER!! the war..a sick and deprevation way to win supporters of there tyranny cause!!

  • I'm sorry but this was a Highland struggle to put a Catholic king on the throne of Scotland and England. The Lowland Scotts had to have no encouragement to stop the French and Spanish backed Jacobite Catholic aspirations. The Highlanders were let down by the French going back on there promise to invade England at the same time. So much for the Auld Alliance.

  • then do it again and show the english fags wat the scotish people are made of!

  • @collinchris No you wouldnt. Your not gaelic, and you have the queen's culture and coin, absolutely no fucking motivation for change.

None of you are gaelic men, what would you know of sacrifice? It has always been the gaels who fought back. And the lowlanders in the hanoverian army were volunteers. This war was not a scottish rebellion, it was hanoverians vs jacobites, nobody was tortured

  • You Scots love to play the victim. What you don't realise is that Scotland has invaded England many more times than England has invaded you. and that UK was started by scotsmen. why don't you look it up and learn some history instead of watching some Anglophobe Mel Gibson shite.

  • @collinchris aww poor old scots. always playing the fucking victim. fact is, the jacobites lost.

  • @NottinghamForest22 the victim????????????????????????read your history mate!!!we were the victims ya FKN donkey!!!!

  • @collinchris There were celebrations in the streets of Edinburgh when the Jacobites were defeated. Not because they were fellow Scots (Remembering the cultural and linguistic divide that was there and very strong between the Highlands and Lowlands) But because they didn't want the return of Catholicism. It was a rebellion to bring back the Stewart dynasty and the Catholic faith to BRITAIN through this Italian fop. It had nothing to do with 'Independance' or 'Freedom'.

  • @collinchris And, The comment about the English raping and murdering after the battle, mite want to correct it; Hanovarian Army was predominantly Scottish so any raping and murdering would have been done by Scottish Soldier of the British Army.

  • @CGDaly1991 Huh, so the English troops never killed or raped anyone? They did they're share of murdering and raping. One of the first brigades to enter Inverness and rape, pillage and kill were from nottingham. One of them had wrote in his journal that the British troops looked more like savage butchers, than like good christian men. On the road from Culloden to Inverness they killed everyone, men, women and children, most of them innocent people who had nothing to do with the battle.

  • @ClanScottishMetal Ur foegetting this wasnt Engand Vs Scotland. It was Government against rebellion. Two men fighting for a thrown, everyone else were pawns.

  • @john3000931 Totally, I don't disagree with that. There was many reasons it happened, but the main one was a dispute over the throne between the Stewarts and the Hannovarians. But there was the whole issue of religion (you know, the old catholic/protestant crap) And bad blood between clans, like the Stewarts and the Campbells. All I was saying is that there was English troops at the battle aswell, and they took part in the pacifications after the battle, just as much as the Scottish troops..

  • @ClanScottishMetal No, they didn't...

  • @46TheTruth Um ok? so not one single english troop fighting for the British army that day killed a person in cold blood? I'm not trying to just blame English troops for the slaughter that happened, but to say they had no part is just stupid. Every single history book or article I have read or documentary I have seen seems to agree.

  • @ClanScottishMetal No, most of the people they kill
