Good review. I think i still prefer the Ahead JJ sticks. Because i had a friend who had a pair let barrow them for a awhile and they never hurt my hands, and when and to rolls and rebound, Rebound should little to do with how you can roll, when you have experienced drummers who can do fast rolls on a pillow which has virtually no rebound what-so-ever. I can't even do that yet. But it is possible.

The new ones are longer, your balance point will not be the same as the AHEAD sticks. They won't rebound the same. I don't think you have a full grasp on the basics. It seems you can't hold the drum sticks right - at least from what I see in this video.

@Ketarhero 5a's are the regular drumsticks. the safest buy. 7a's are thinner and lighter (maybe even shorter) for faster play. Jazz drummers or death metal drummers may prefer 7a.

5a is for classic rock/ hip hip etc.

5b is for schmucks

I got a pair with his blood on them, I pre-ordered them before they came out. I live in the UK, and they were only £10.

On the pro-mark sleeve that holds the sticks, there is a number in red, which i assume is what pair of sticks it is, out of however many they made, and is also proof that it's a pair with blood on them. The number is.. 974, and then some weird sorta shape next to it.. i'll make a video if anyone wants it

I find the rebound on the Aheads just as good maybe better plus there's no hand shock from them. Then again drummers have their own preferences and feel to sticks. Wood sticks are great but it's just a big headache on the expense part in going through so many wood sticks. The Joey wood ones are good but dun last long with them being so thin but the Aheads last way longer. I like both but like i said it's a matter of feel and i'd rather get the Joey Pro-Mark as a collector rather than play it.

The reason why your hand hurts from the ahead sticks is because you arent using proper technique also your rebound test shows you dropping the pro marks trying to get rebound while you just plop the ahead sticks basically flat not giving it proper angle to rebound. Last thing is keep the same variables if you want to test somthing use the same hand because your dominate hand will perform better.
