Who gives a crap about Nirvana's influence? Grunge was a fad that's as dead as disco - and a crap fad that inspired a bunch of "musicians" that couldn't actually play their instruments. That's not influence. Page, Hendrix, Clapton, Rhoads, van Halen etc inspired untold numbers of young artists to practise untill their fingers bled so they could play the stuff recorded by these guys. Cobain? Anyone that has had 3 guitar lessons and practises 5 minutes a week can play Nirvana's crap music.

Just because they didn't shred their guitar or do fancy solos like guitar god's such as Jimi Hendrix and Van Halen doesn't mean their music wasn't great. Kurt Cobain made great guitar sounds, even John Fruciante said so. This is coming from a person who's favorite guitarist is Jimi. Open your eyes, music isn't who could come up with "the most difficult" stuff to play on a guitar. It's about expressing yourself.

Learn some of that stuff then read GnR's sheet music, especially to Axl's songs like Estranged and Breakdown. His song structures are musically superior to anything Nirvana has.

i disagree with Cabangels point. Id say both bands are equally as influential. The amount of bands now that quote GNR as an influence is unreal. The bands sales also are/were similar. They did the same amount of albums also, all differing slightly in style. Both great bands for different reasons. Axl was a fan of Nirvana but as Axl is a nutjob, took offence from Cobain somewhere and thats when they hated on each other.
Don't hate me, i love Nirvana, especially the Unplugged in New York from '94, but i think Guns plays much more complicated and complex music. Guns songs contain every single emotion, that you can feel. However, i think Axl fucked up everything, and now, he can be happy, beacuse he built up a whole new shit band, while Slash countinued what he did before. (sorry for my english :D)

anybody can learn to play his guitar fast, but to creat such simple yet powerful riffs like nirvana did (for egzample come as u are, smells like teen spirit,sliver and so on) takes talent that happens once in 100years. Kurt was the lucky bastard that recived it during last century.

This isn't the whole story, Axl liked them so much he wanted to tour with them, at this time, Nirvana, no matter what, was "more cool" and Axl was "kinda out" - to kids at least... and Cobain said what he said to piss him off, GNR released Two albums (Appetite and UYI) and an EP and will always be better than Nirvana, Cobain couldn't even play guitar

Who gives a crap about Nirvana's influence? Grunge was a fad that's as dead as disco - and a crap fad that inspired a bunch of "musicians" that couldn't actually play their instruments. That's not influence. Page, Hendrix, Clapton, Rhoads, van Halen etc inspired untold numbers of young artists to practise untill their fingers bled so they could play the stuff recorded by these guys. Cobain? Anyone that has had 3 guitar lessons and practises 5 minutes a week can play Nirvana's crap music.

Just because they didn't shred their guitar or do fancy solos like guitar god's such as Jimi Hendrix and Van Halen doesn't mean their music wasn't great. Kurt Cobain made great guitar sounds, even John Fruciante said so. This is coming from a person who's favorite guitarist is Jimi. Open your eyes, music isn't who could come up with "the most difficult" stuff to play on a guitar. It's about expressing yourself.

Learn some of that stuff then read GnR's sheet music, especially to Axl's songs like Estranged and Breakdown. His song structures are musically superior to anything Nirvana has.

i disagree with Cabangels point. Id say both bands are equally as influential. The amount of bands now that quote GNR as an influence is unreal. The bands sales also are/were similar. They did the same amount of albums also, all differing slightly in style. Both great bands for different reasons. Axl was a fan of Nirvana but as Axl is a nutjob, took offence from Cobain somewhere and thats when they hated on each other.

Don't hate me, i love Nirvana, especially the Unplugged in New York from '94, but i think Guns plays much more complicated and complex music. Guns songs contain every single emotion, that you can feel. However, i think Axl fucked up everything, and now, he can be happy, beacuse he built up a whole new shit band, while Slash countinued what he did before. (sorry for my english :D)

Nirvana was way more influential than Guns N Roses, dont get me wrong i love GnR a lot. i love them both but GnR was around the same time as other rock bands that kicked ass and Nirvana was like kind of the main focal point in their time, they were the finale of the greatest music era ever. after Kurt died it's like God flipped off the talent switch.

You'd have to be an idiot to think Cobain was a better guitarist than anyone who has ever been in GnR, to think that Cobain was more versataile of a musican than Rose, and to think that Cobain has a better vocal range than Rose which he doesn't even come close. From what I read, Axl wanted Nivana on the tour, and praised Cobain, they sort of mocked him, especially Courtney. Axl can't touch Love, so he sort of lashed out. he didnt' handle it well, but to me, they started the trouble. I do think Cobain is disingenuous acting like "what, what did I do wrong?"...believe me, axl's usual the issue

@7kole4 Exactly,cobain turned them down,from all publications it was cordial.But,rose took it as a slight,and started personally attacking cobain and his family at concerts.All of this predates cobain insulting rose at the awards show, and the article later when he insulted rose and gnr.I don't know why people have tried to twist the truth,rose started it,and crossed the fucking line!But,as usual,whenever he tried to insult cobain,he would look like an even bigger poser.If that was possible?

If you knew anything you'd know that Axl wore a Nirvana hat in the Don't Cry music video (seriously go watch the video it's in there) and didn't start insulting them till Cobain started downplaying them in the media.
