Heb. 4:12 - The Word of God (TRUTH) penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit. The Word judges the thoughts of the mind (the SOUL) and the attitudes (the passions), of the heart (the SPIRIT).
1 Chronicles 28:9 - Serve God with a willing mind (A WILLING SOUL) and wholehearted devotion (with PASSION -A WILLING SPIRIT).
Deut. 4:29 - We will find God if we seek God with all our mind (OUR SOUL) and
with all our heart (OUR SPIRIT)
LOGIC AND EMOTION = SOUL AND SPIRIT = That which God judges.
You understood wrong I am talking about the greek root psyche for soul and pneuma for spirit. The psyche, every body in the world agree about what it is of course. Concerning the spirit I explain it according to the word of God and His Spirit. But I'll be glad to hear your point of vew. be blessed
I have actually become atheist since I made that comment and can now say that I don't agree with your interpretation of the words psyche or pneuma and that I don't think the translation of the original Hebrew words into those words were correct. We know that those words were heavily influenced by Plato and Aristotle who thought that the material was unimportant. The creation of man in Genesis lays out that God made Adam a basar (body) out of the adoma (ground), breathed
@DanielDeVito89 after making adam from the earth, God breath in Him and he became a living being. Thank you not to do like the serpent by quoting only half of God's word, be blessed
ruach (spirit) into the basar and it became a nephesh (living being). We also translate nephesh into soul. The ancient Hebrews didn't understand life without the body which is why the resurrection is so important. But none of that is important to me anymore, because I don't believe in your holy book or your god.
That was well explained, Allan. I was taught the heart (biblical not physical) was divided: mind, will and emotions, in one part like a trinity, and then the spirit was the other part which communicated both with God and the soul. Also, that some of the spiritual problems are a result of spiritual hunger and thirst, but a born again person learns to seek God for satisfaction. "Steal from the rich and give to the poor?" Robin Hood: hero or bandit?^_^That's some good stuff right there.

I believe the Hebrew and Greek both would disagree with your interpretation. I'd be glad to explain if you're interested.
