  • Hey Tom, amazing orchestral work here dude, how is your degree going? S

  • @scotthazellcomposer Hey! Only just saw this! Just finishing my postgrad now. PhD has been accepted too :-)

  • @tommyk77 Ha no worries, that's great news. I just finished my Ba(hons) with a first, had some music on TV earlier this year and now just carrying on self employed. Best of luck and keep in touch. Scott.

  • @scotthazellcomposer Congratulations! Will do :-)

  • 1:25 is brilliant. Hate to sound like a music noob, but the chinese sounding melody gets me :)

  • @LKLNinja actually it's more 1:20

  • @LKLNinja It's the pentatonics :-)

    I like 1:38 personally

  • Really well composed, I've never seen or heard some of the techniques you used (2:51-3:05) but after listening to it again realized you used it throughout the piece as a reacurring theme. Are we supposed to have a particular picture from the music or is it left to our interpretation? (i'll be stealing some of those techniques for later :)

  • @admentlore Thanks. The piece is actually a series of sketches I put together to see if they worked as a coherent piece. Each one has its own "colour" if you will. The opening march is quite red to me, so I made that the title. Your interpretation I'll leave to you!

Personally, I think the march is the strongest bit, so I'll probably expand that into a full piece itself.
