  • Sweet

  • not to sound weird or anything but why is a Santa Fe engine leading a Amtrak consist?

  • @tormax38

Usually BNSF leads Amtrak when there is a snow storm in the northwest and through Montana, and North Dakota because they need more power in poor weather. The second reason, as in this case was because one of the three P42's had problems/died and Amtrak temporarily for this trip, leased a BNSF engine.

  • That was a sick catch!

  • I caught it too, See my video!!

  • nice cathces!

  • at first, back in the day, i didnt think it was a dignified end how amtrak decided to gut the motive power out of the F40ph's and stick them on the end and use them as little more than grorified baggage handling cars....but ive come to realise that its actually pretty cool how they double as cab cars, and basically have found a way to extend thier carrers on the rails, and i now want a dummy F40ph to model in n scale on my layout at the end of my consist....nice vid!!

  • Awesome catch!
