He came and spoke at my college recently. He is a complete moron with minimal knowledge of anything he was talking about. He went to school for PHILOSOPHY, but he calls himself an expert in energy and industrial policy. You can't be an expert in something if you're under 30 years old.
The downright naïevity and lack of knowledge about the subjects they're 'standing' for, amazes me every time with these ignorent occupiers.

Epstein you are a complete hack. Pick on somebody your own size next time. Your Fukashima argument is was beyond moronic. You never address the finitude behind all of the energy sources you appear to be championing. Rearrange them? You are a simplistic fucking idiot.

Greed. That is what all of these idiots seem to hate, yet their desire to scream and rant about their cause du jour is the ultimate form of greed. They want what they want, to hell with facts.
Eric Dennis actually erred, not only can "current" technology not approximate a perpetual battery, nor can any imaginable technology. That whole perpetual motion of the 1st kind problem. Thermodynamics is a real bummer sometimes, as Duracell can attest too.

No to know what "half-time" means, pretending that nuclear waste would be "impossible to store" etc. show that they are only about propaganda sound bites with ZERO knowledge. There are rock formations that are very deep, 100% impermeable to water and that haven't moved for hundreds of millions of years. Ignorant, stupid people like these "environmentalists" should not ever be allowed to promote any kind of BS that they are not even able to back up.
If someone says "I'm against nuclear power", the LEAST they should know is how many people died from nuclear energy as compared to any other source of energy. Coal costs tens of thousands of lives EVERY YEAR, civilian nuclear power has so far been related to only 50 - 100 provable deaths.
I'm curious why these women aren't talking about the toxic WASTE that comes from solar panels and the wind turbines and the needed maintenance. Those of us who do work in those industries know that the "carbon footprint" is actually worse with these technologies than coal and oil.

@Earthfart Yeah, that look is epic, I'd love to know what her credentials are!
As though she, arbitrarily asserting that perpetual batteries have been possible for 40+ years (but no-one decided to make these batteries that would obviously sell like hot cakes because they are fixated on greed), a claim that plainly contradicts the most fundamental laws of thermodynamics, need provide no proof, but a physics PhD who calls her on it can be disregarded b/c he didn't graduate #1 in his class!

To Epstein's question 3:04 "The question is not can we gain energy from solar or wind... the issue is can it provide the scale?" I'd love to know the answer to three questions: (1) Is the discovery rate of U-235 increasing or decreasing? (2) Given current trends, when is the consensus for the time when we expect the extraction of U-235 to decrease? (3) Might I see some evidence that nuclear energy will be available for "thousands of years" 4:26?
And two more questions on the issue of scale, because I do agree that something is only a practical solution to our energy problem if it scales in time: How many nuclear power plants have been approved in the United States in the past decade? How many would it take to replace all of our non-transportation energy consumption?
I could go on: Epstein's problems are not limited to the issue of scale.

As a nuclear engineering student, I have the utmost respect for you Alex. Thank you for bringing the argument up a notch to the moral level and with facts and not fears.
Good job of answering the "gotcha" questions. She seemed the most upset when she found out you didn't have a problem with endorsing yourself. I guess you're supposed to be as selfless as the protesters who sacrifice to save us all from ourselves.
Just one thing to add. It is likely from what we know about physics that EVERYTHING in the know universe has a half-life. What we call stable matter just has a very long one (it will be around for BILLIONS of years!!! OMG!!!). So by definition everything is radioaczive and will be around forever. Yet, we don't try to burry the earth's crust or Jupiter.
It's fascinating how people with zero clue just keep repeating nonsensical propaganda they heard but challenge everyone who has a differing view based on their formal education. Just make an actual argument! We are willing to learn and hear new arguments! But you cannot just lie and make science and engineering a religious dogma.
What about black projects ?Military project ?I think you are sheep to believe that nuclear is the best thecnology we have, very naive.'I can watch one propaganda film and still not be convinced by it.'So what do you think you are doing, propaganda for the nuclear power.hopeless.Peace
so you know everyhting about quantum physics and ether theory. You have been paid by the industry.BTW nuclear waiste is a big problem in the Europre. You should learn about Tesla patents. You think you are smart by speaking with somebody who doesnt know anything about nuclear.Pure propaganda !pawn of the NWO.Peace
@mattbell555 Nuclear waste is not a big problem. It's a political problem. It can and has been safely stored until the next generation of nuclear reactors (for example thorium based ractors like LFTRs) will be able to burn it. Burrying it is a moronic idea by politicians.
Btw, nuclear "waste" will continue to be produced, no matter what, we need many of the products of nuclear fission for various applications from space exploration to medicine. And nothing is as safe as nuclear technology.
@scepticsteve safe,u235,u238,yess its so safe.Yes it is a big problem the waiste ,we got different source on that point.nuclear is too hazardoos. You forgot about three miles island, tchernobyl, fukhoshima. If it was free market like you wish your world could be,there will be no nuclear plant because it cost too much and it has too much impact.BTW absolutely free markets mean the rich can play the big game !
@mattbell555 You are wrong on every account. U238 is not even fissible. The nuclear industry is one of the most highly regulated and politicized of all, so it's not a free market. How hazardous is it? How many people die from nuclear energy ever yyear in comparison to solar or wind for example? How many people died at the nuclear incidents you said?
You don't know. In fact, you know nothing. That's why you are able to talk this BS. Absolutely free markets mean nobody can use politics to screw u!
@mattbell555 We had some in earlier decades, the technology is proven. But since the green scams block every nuclear project it is hard to build new nuclear plants.
Using that fallacious logic, how many solar- or windfarms would we have without massive subsidies per produced unit? None.
@scepticsteve I read a lot about thorium, and its way better.I think before creating something hazradous we must find a way to annhilate the problem, the impact.I am not against nuclear power,I am for a world without hazardous system. The problem with capitalism(not a moral capitalism) is that you create something only to get money out of it,like in food, msg ,additiive, artificial flavour without really testing it.I believe in a moral capitalism like moral socialism.I think we must redefine the ..
@mattbell555 That's impossible utopia. Every human endeavour has an impact. You must weight the benefits against the cost. Light water reactors are already very good compared with all known alternatives, LFTRs are even better. And capitalism -properly defined- makes the most of everything. Under free market capitalism you can only make great profits if you benefit other humans greatly. And that's the reason why you will likely live much longer than humans generatiosn before us. Have fun.
@scepticsteve we must redefine the old paradigm,on moral and ethical issue. The problem with socialism and capitalism ,both entity impse their will on the people, the market vs human and the big state on human. One will believe that we will self regulate and the other that the state must regulate. There is no "a better system"there is only bad people who neglects the people.Peace
@mattbell555 I don't see that. Maybe instead of redefining things we should first properly define what we mean by capitalism and free markets. Under free markets and capitalism you can only interact peacefully and without extortion of others. You must respect my rights and I have to respect yours. Right now we have too much political micromanagement.
@scepticsteve "Under free markets and capitalism you can only interact peacefully and without extortion of others" wow you really think that,it never happened in the history known to mankind. Its not the system that must change its us.
@mattbell555 "it never happened in the history known to mankind" That's correct.
"Its not the system that must change its us" That's incorrect. Human nature must be acknowledged. The state must be restricted to very specific, clearly defined responsibilities. Individuals should only be able to interact voluntarily. An unrestricted government will be abused to take advantage of other people in the society (wall street bailout, redistribution of wealth, etc.). That's obnoxious.
@scepticsteve so you dont believe that human can change.BTW our dna has changed 7% since 35 000 years. We changed all the time, its called evolution.Right now if you let the free market with no law whatsoever, there will be three steps, anarchy, purification and balance.I agree with you that in a perfect world ,we are less people on that plante,we live in small community,we do "troc"trade (no need of money and gov).We learn the value of the community by our parents.Like the tribal and native ways.
@mattbell555 That's not what I said and your argument about DNA is irrelevant. You cannot change human DNA by argument or ideology. Certainly not by "redefining" words. Free markets is not a situation without law. And your argument about "right now" is bogus, since there are a lot of -bad- laws on the books. Free markets means I cannot force you to do business with me (like giving me a phony loan via the Community Reinvestment Act). I never talked about population?! Native ways are crap.
@scepticsteve native ways are crap, that's pretentious.SO the white people had the better system.Right now is not bogus,it is related to realities nor fictions.Free market means no regulation read neo classism idea,or the ideological capitalism with no law only the rules of the market.Believing that is also "bogus".BTW there was people living before free market ,we can also live without.sad but true.PEace
@mattbell555 No, that's fact. Look at life expectancy, social structure (way of life, slavery, deaths from war per 100k people,...) and what native people did to the environment even in small numbers. Native ways are horrific in all aspects compared to modern civilization.
Free markets doesn't mean no regulation. If I can use a gun to make you trade with me, you're not free. Don't just redefine what you don't understand. Market "rules" are scientific laws, you cannot change them.
@mattbell555 People lived before "free" markets? There are no free markets now. Markets are abstract environments. They have always been there since humans interacted with each other. But I suggest you don't wish to get back to the "native" ways of tribal times. Because there was no equality and the strongest and most brutal individuals ruled a class of slaves. You might think you can reach utopia by brutal force, but that has been tried before. Freedom means no one can use force to project will
@scepticsteve you subjuguate all natives with one assumption, wrong. You must be US citizen to believe that, you totally agree with the history class books.I see why you are caught into the old paradigm.Im sure you are the type of persone who still believes that 9/11 was a terrorist attack and JFK was killed by that magic bullet.sorry to say,I'm sad for you.You live in tunnel vision.Peace
@mattbell555 I don't judge "natives" as a people, but the archaic lifestyle of native cultures (that American natives don't live anymore, for good reason). I'm not an American and the American textbooks for the most part romantisize crap cultures because they are written by lefty creeps like Zinn.
Just because you have no clue doesn't mean you can imagine reality the way you like. You're right, I know that 9/11 was a terror attack and JFK was killed by a commie and Santa Claus doesn't exist.
@scepticsteve me I dont live by a book or ideology ,left or right, male vs female, capitalism vs socialism etc Im not in that duality.I dont preach anything instead of this guys (video). My third eye is open that's all,I see all the spectrum in colour. We will debate for eternity about those paradigms, its endless and useless. We are humans ! that's all.If we live byt love ,peace and light we wont need more.Peace
@mattbell555 Yeah, you are totally open minded and neutral...
"we must redefine the old paradigm"
"Its not the system that must change its us"
"You must be US citizen to believe that"
"no need of money and gov"
"you are the type of persone who still believes that 9/11 was a terrorist attack"
Who are you trying to fool? Your problem is that you make up stuff that you don't know the facts about. Then you declare your imagination as fact and logic. I seriously cannot help you. Dream on, have fun.

Oh my god. This is seriously painful to watch. Those OWS thugs are such brainwashed flunkies its crazy.
Why does it matter at what "rank" a PhD in physics graduated at? Seriously.

The people in Fukushima are fine... I live in Japan and there are no people dying from Nuclear power

Heh, are you trying to convince these people to change their mind and get a job or just to expose their ignorance?

Just look at their smug responses when Alex has the "audacity" to say that he endorses himself, haha.
jessehackey 3 months ago 2

Pro excessive wealth!

What about black projects ?Military project ?I think you are sheep to believe that nuclear is the best thecnology we have, very naive.'I can watch one propaganda film and still not be convinced by it.'So what do you think you are doing, propaganda for the nuclear power.hopeless.Peace
mattbell555 3 months ago
so you know everyhting about quantum physics and ether theory. You have been paid by the industry.BTW nuclear waiste is a big problem in the Europre. You should learn about Tesla patents. You think you are smart by speaking with somebody who doesnt know anything about nuclear.Pure propaganda !pawn of the NWO.Peace
mattbell555 3 months ago
@mattbell555 Nuclear waste is not a big problem. It's a political problem. It can and has been safely stored until the next generation of nuclear reactors (for example thorium based ractors like LFTRs) will be able to burn it. Burrying it is a moronic idea by politicians.
Btw, nuclear "waste" will continue to be produced, no matter what, we need many of the products of nuclear fission for various applications from space exploration to medicine. And nothing is as safe as nuclear technology.
scepticsteve 3 months ago
@scepticsteve safe,u235,u238,yess its so safe.Yes it is a big problem the waiste ,we got different source on that point.nuclear is too hazardoos. You forgot about three miles island, tchernobyl, fukhoshima. If it was free market like you wish your world could be,there will be no nuclear plant because it cost too much and it has too much impact.BTW absolutely free markets mean the rich can play the big game !
mattbell555 3 months ago
@mattbell555 this is pure nonsense. free markets means everybody benefits and trades, from the richest to the poorest
cooljool1 3 months ago
@mattbell555 You are wrong on every account. U238 is not even fissible. The nuclear industry is one of the most highly regulated and politicized of all, so it's not a free market. How hazardous is it? How many people die from nuclear energy ever yyear in comparison to solar or wind for example? How many people died at the nuclear incidents you said?
You don't know. In fact, you know nothing. That's why you are able to talk this BS. Absolutely free markets mean nobody can use politics to screw u!
scepticsteve 3 months ago
Yeah Thorium is better,so tell me how many thorium reactor you have in the whole world ?!?
mattbell555 3 months ago
@mattbell555 We had some in earlier decades, the technology is proven. But since the green scams block every nuclear project it is hard to build new nuclear plants.
Using that fallacious logic, how many solar- or windfarms would we have without massive subsidies per produced unit? None.
scepticsteve 3 months ago
@scepticsteve I read a lot about thorium, and its way better.I think before creating something hazradous we must find a way to annhilate the problem, the impact.I am not against nuclear power,I am for a world without hazardous system. The problem with capitalism(not a moral capitalism) is that you create something only to get money out of it,like in food, msg ,additiive, artificial flavour without really testing it.I believe in a moral capitalism like moral socialism.I think we must redefine the ..
mattbell555 3 months ago
@mattbell555 That's impossible utopia. Every human endeavour has an impact. You must weight the benefits against the cost. Light water reactors are already very good compared with all known alternatives, LFTRs are even better. And capitalism -properly defined- makes the most of everything. Under free market capitalism you can only make great profits if you benefit other humans greatly. And that's the reason why you will likely live much longer than humans generatiosn before us. Have fun.
scepticsteve 3 months ago
@scepticsteve we must redefine the old paradigm,on moral and ethical issue. The problem with socialism and capitalism ,both entity impse their will on the people, the market vs human and the big state on human. One will believe that we will self regulate and the other that the state must regulate. There is no "a better system"there is only bad people who neglects the people.Peace
mattbell555 3 months ago
@mattbell555 I don't see that. Maybe instead of redefining things we should first properly define what we mean by capitalism and free markets. Under free markets and capitalism you can only interact peacefully and without extortion of others. You must respect my rights and I have to respect yours. Right now we have too much political micromanagement.
scepticsteve 3 months ago
@scepticsteve "Under free markets and capitalism you can only interact peacefully and without extortion of others" wow you really think that,it never happened in the history known to mankind. Its not the system that must change its us.
mattbell555 3 months ago
@mattbell555 "it never happened in the history known to mankind" That's correct.
"Its not the system that must change its us" That's incorrect. Human nature must be acknowledged. The state must be restricted to very specific, clearly defined responsibilities. Individuals should only be able to interact voluntarily. An unrestricted government will be abused to take advantage of other people in the society (wall street bailout, redistribution of wealth, etc.). That's obnoxious.
scepticsteve 3 months ago
@scepticsteve so you dont believe that human can change.BTW our dna has changed 7% since 35 000 years. We changed all the time, its called evolution.Right now if you let the free market with no law whatsoever, there will be three steps, anarchy, purification and balance.I agree with you that in a perfect world ,we are less people on that plante,we live in small community,we do "troc"trade (no need of money and gov).We learn the value of the community by our parents.Like the tribal and native ways.
mattbell555 3 months ago
@mattbell555 That's not what I said and your argument about DNA is irrelevant. You cannot change human DNA by argument or ideology. Certainly not by "redefining" words. Free markets is not a situation without law. And your argument about "right now" is bogus, since there are a lot of -bad- laws on the books. Free markets means I cannot force you to do business with me (like giving me a phony loan via the Community Reinvestment Act). I never talked about population?! Native ways are crap.
scepticsteve 3 months ago
@scepticsteve native ways are crap, that's pretentious.SO the white people had the better system.Right now is not bogus,it is related to realities nor fictions.Free market means no regulation read neo classism idea,or the ideological capitalism with no law only the rules of the market.Believing that is also "bogus".BTW there was people living before free market ,we can also live without.sad but true.PEace
mattbell555 3 months ago
@mattbell555 No, that's fact. Look at life expectancy, social structure (way of life, slavery, deaths from war per 100k people,...) and what native people did to the environment even in small numbers. Native ways are horrific in all aspects compared to modern civilization.
Free markets doesn't mean no regulation. If I can use a gun to make you trade with me, you're not free. Don't just redefine what you don't understand. Market "rules" are scientific laws, you cannot change them.
scepticsteve 3 months ago
@mattbell555 People lived before "free" markets? There are no free markets now. Markets are abstract environments. They have always been there since humans interacted with each other. But I suggest you don't wish to get back to the "native" ways of tribal times. Because there was no equality and the strongest and most brutal individuals ruled a class of slaves. You might think you can reach utopia by brutal force, but that has been tried before. Freedom means no one can use force to project will
scepticsteve 3 months ago
@scepticsteve you subjuguate all natives with one assumption, wrong. You must be US citizen to believe that, you totally agree with the history class books.I see why you are caught into the old paradigm.Im sure you are the type of persone who still believes that 9/11 was a terrorist attack and JFK was killed by that magic bullet.sorry to say,I'm sad for you.You live in tunnel vision.Peace
mattbell555 3 months ago
@mattbell555 I don't judge "natives" as a people, but the archaic lifestyle of native cultures (that American natives don't live anymore, for good reason). I'm not an American and the American textbooks for the most part romantisize crap cultures because they are written by lefty creeps like Zinn.
Just because you have no clue doesn't mean you can imagine reality the way you like. You're right, I know that 9/11 was a terror attack and JFK was killed by a commie and Santa Claus doesn't exist.
scepticsteve 3 months ago
@scepticsteve me I dont live by a book or ideology ,left or right, male vs female, capitalism vs socialism etc Im not in that duality.I dont preach anything instead of this guys (video). My third eye is open that's all,I see all the spectrum in colour. We will debate for eternity about those paradigms, its endless and useless. We are humans ! that's all.If we live byt love ,peace and light we wont need more.Peace
mattbell555 3 months ago
@mattbell555 Yeah, you are totally open minded and neutral...
"we must redefine the old paradigm"
"Its not the system that must change its us"
"You must be US citizen to believe that"
"no need of money and gov"
"you are the type of persone who still believes that 9/11 was a terrorist attack"
Who are you trying to fool? Your problem is that you make up stuff that you don't know the facts about. Then you declare your imagination as fact and logic. I seriously cannot help you. Dream on, have fun.
