  • i can forge planes with my power, i can unmake you!

  • Updated my journal!

  • If you consider yourself an RPG fan, you really need to experience this game. It actually makes me feel sad when I think of the way that RPG's have gone over the last 8 years or so. I doubt that a game like this will ever be "economically viable" again, and so we just get shallow graphics oriented games from now on.

Long live the dialogue tree and fantastic stories. Damn I feel old...

  • If i get rich someday i will use infinity engine to create great games like these legends of Black Isle

  • well i have played bg1<3<3 and bg2<3 i love that game so much. So now i gonna try this game :D looking forward to it!

  • Damn you now I have to play Planescape again!

  • Well, just leaving my piece: best CRPG I've ever played, can only contend with BG1&2. In the end, Planescape win by overall... If you call yourself a gamer, don't let this one slip by...

  • I love this game, but i have a question.

Who is that lady at 00:50?I finished the game 3times now but I never found any clue about her.

  • Must've been his wife, girlfriend or maybe his daughter but looks older due to graphics but the graphics are good tho but just no the stuff we get these days

  • That game is really the best thing i have ever played. Its only drawback is that you will never see the rest of games in the same way after you play it. A diamont unsurpased by other games because it wasnt a game it was a work of art and clearly the creators loved it as much as we did, and a big thank's to them. May ladies' shadow pass you by cutters.

  • Its like trying to sell book in video game covers when it comes to PL:T.

Its very complicated, reguires whole lot of time, consentration and patience. Especially patience.

Problem is, majority of players dont have patience or will to read anything, as its not "cool" these days.

  • (part 2 of comment lol)

i can only agree with the other people here..its surreal..the deepest story i have ever had the pleasure of expiriencing..and yes..it makes me want to weep as well to know we wont be seeing a sequel due to the lack of commercial succes brought on by stupid people scared off by lots of text..(that is, a awesome, amazingly in depth RP) urgh it makes me so mad!!!!!!!!!

  • I remember playing this when I was younger(it went over my head at the time),but now that I'm older I see how special it was. I also feel saddened that I never finished it.

  • I..words cannot describe how i love this game...i finally finished it now..after years of overlooking! I forgot it exists!! The Baldurs,Neverwinters and Icewinds clogged my brain up and i forgot that PT was also D&D!!! I am..or was..a a D&D DM so i adore anything that is D&D!! But this game...

  • not a game...a godly experience

  • This game makes me cry over all the new filthy excuses for rpgs where "innovation" and gimmicks eclipse story.

Bethesda: "You can make choices in our new game"

Interviewer: "Like your walk or run feature"

Bethesda: "Yes, Yes! We are full of INNOVASHUN!!

  • You said it man, RPGs like this are almost a dead breed. Play Mask of the Betrayer if you liked Torment, it isn't quite as good, but damn if it isn't closer than anything else on the market.

  • Wow, so glad to hear others express this opinion. RPG's these days, with all the advances in technology, are just SHIT compared to the old black isle type stuff, seriously. Oblivion is a disgrace, imo.

  • Why is it, that after 10 years and dozens of rpgs on multiple formats, not one even touches this game? Not even obsidians own NWN2 comes close :(

  • lmao

  • He sure is, and he smells bad too, but keep in mind that he's been killed thousands of times in thousands of ways. Nobody's gonna look good after that, at least not without replacing their entire body.

And he apparently attracts all kinds of chits.

  • Back when it came out, I thought this game looked too "weird" for me. I was only into traditional fantasy RPGs, but, I got desperate for a new game, and tried it.

Thank goodness I did. This was by far the best RPG I ever played! Never has the story so drawn me into an RPG, to the point, that even as weird as the world in the game is, I found myself wanting to go there. I actually cared about the characters and couldn't stop playing, wanting to find out what happened next.

    Best game ever!

  • Well, the graphics weren't as good in that time as the gameplay of that game is ^^

  • i wonder why there r no more games like this or fallout ot baldurs gate ... :(

  • PR monkeys think there's no market for them anymore on the PC. Just look at how horribly Bethesda is raping Fallout3...

All we have left to look forward to are indie games like Age of Decadence which will try to bring back the spirit of Fallout. But those are just that, indie games with a lack of budget, no market and no hype.

  • like... if they could make a sequel... and build on the concepts... not necessarily the nameless one as a main char (the story rocked, but hes hideous xD), but just like the character developement.... oh the opportunities... man, i wish i was older when the first one came out.. couldnt enjoy it fully back then due to my age, and cant now due to graphics and some faults in gameplay... <-- Oblivions fault xD

  • I agree, this is the best RPG game I´ve played, and the best game I´ve played.

The story it has is better than any game, book or movie I´ve seen.

  • These guys were brilliant. Of course, they had to be assimilated then liquidated to clear the path for cookie-cutter brainless mass-market games.

  • The best CRPG I've ever played.

  • This is the best RPG I have ever played. It almost makes me weep to think that it did not succeed commercially ;( What a pity...

  • This RPG is a milestone that will remain unsurpassed!

Even many years later i kind of think about this it's story!

  • To this very day, this game still hasnt been surpassed in terms of story and character development. The conversation with Ravel. Speaking with Dak'kon about the Unbroken Circle of Zerthimon. It doesn't get any better. Although, Knights of the Old Republic 2 comes pretty close. If that game were given another 6 months development time.. sighs, oh well.

  • Morte: So eh, whats eating you chief?

The intro for this game is only topped by the unbelieably awesome and thought provoking ending.

  • btw, from the looks of tiantian89's post I get the impression that this fellow didn't play the right "game". piece of cakes? PT is more of an interactive story and not a brainless mouse clickfest. he must be confusing PT with Diablo. the only difficulty with Planescape: Torment is to remember your actual life so much it's engrossing :D

  • this game marked me too

the story (as well as every other aspect of the game) was superb. I've read many books and seen many movies but none with a story as great and deep. sometimes I wish I could drink from the styx river myself to enjoy this game again as a virgin. :)

  • What can change the nature of man?

Now I know the answer. YOUTUBE.COM can change the nature of man! (nice grab there)

  • I shall wait for you in death's hall, my love...

  • Classic game. One of the best I ever played. I can't recall feeling the kind of connections I had with any other set of characters. The music is superb, the world is surreal, and the art is beautiful. Do yourself a favor and get this game!
