Sir. I was not weaseling my way out of a check. I had paid the contractor several thousand already so far. I made an additional payment of $2500. Immediately after writing the check, he was shut down by the city because he lied about permits for the job. I stopped payment because he lied about having permits and the work was stopped by the city.

Requested a pay off (a service that used to be free) had to do automated because could not get a human on the phone, said would be $31 after I agreed it then said the fee would be $90, this after I agreed to $31. I have overdraft protection and have been charged a few hundred in "overdraft fees".

How does that make sense? Every time I have called the bank asking them about it, they have removed the charges saying, "It's our fault. Sorry for the inconvenience." Then they try and lecture me on how not to cause it to happen. I reply that they just told me it was their fault. Then they always try and repeat themselves. I get pissed off, then just hang up.
