Thanks im going tmr to check out their current stock so i can get some to put in the tank that is finished cycling

  • Awesome fish and tank

Ive gotten really interested in firemouths and was wondering if i could get a one for my 20 gallon tall if it was the only fish in the tank

Black substrate, good lighting but no live plants just fake and i was thinking of making some rock caves

    Possible?

  • @pleco11771

That would be possible depending on the size of the Fish when you get it. From your lfs you can usually get them at about one half to an inch which would fit easily in a 20 Gallon. Just make sure to cycle your tank before you get the fish. I would also suggest getting 3 fire mouths from different fish stores and at the same age and if you get luckey enough maby they will bread when they mature.

Generally as a rule you can put one inch of fish per Gallon in your tank. For a twenty gallon that means 20 inches of fish. That doesn't mean that you can go and get 20 one inch fish because as soon as they start growing there will be insufficient room. Three Fire mouths should fit in a twenty gallon for a year or more.
