No matter what anyone says, Russia is being allowed to be the #1 supplier & processor of oil. We've been hearing by the pseudo anti-war crowd that the Middle East is about oil. I don't buy it otherwise we'd have seen evidence by now. It's been 10 yrs since the US neocons invaded Afghanistan, 8.5 yrs in Iraq, yet not a single pipeline for the US? Only Israel benefits

@PreventingExtinction, If you refer to the axis of evil, while Moscow is certainly a major player, i don't see it as subversive as the troika i mention. Of course, that's partly a reflection of its reduced status and power. Moscow and Beijing will never have more than a superficial alliance against the west and Moscow also has to worry about growing Chinese squatter settlement encroachment along its sparsely populated, resource-rich southern border. Russia is a fat prize.
