i have watched this many many times and it has to be the best and nicest rock stories i have ever heard from one of the most powerful band players ever . Tell me.......when you were a child would,nt you want this cheeky face guy reading you a bedtime story most nights.......God can get heavens rock band ready now his sax player has arrived !! RIP big man...
Truly touching stories, especially that incident on how he met Bruce Springsteen. Thank-you for posting this video. Clarence and his music will always be an inspiration to many.
Your music will always be a part of me. Bruce and the E Street Band made magic, and it will live on forever! Thanks for all the ways your love of music inspires us. You are missed on earth, but Heaven must be rejoicing. Rest in Peace Big Man, and may you rock on with the angels.
I'm gonna rock the Boss and Big Man all the way down the turnpike, through Philly, and down the expressway to Atlantic City for the next 3 hours today. It's gonna be great.
Pure destiny. A beautiful and extraordinary relationship without pretense, pure love and admiration between two men who shared their love and talent with the world.
Big Man, words can't express the gift that you have left the world with. I along with the entire E-Street nation have mourned you for days now, but it's time we celebrate your life and legacy. I hope that Bruce and the band and Clarence's family truly know how much we love and cherished every note he played on stage. I am greatful to have been in your company numerous times on stage and you always amazed me. RIP Big Man.
You were supposed to be there, Clarence! Thanks for giving us everything you had. You left your mark on the world, and I have no doubt you enjoyed your life. I'll always be a fan.
Will we go on from here? I'm sorry! That was a selfish comment. I have to stop and really get a grip. The E- Street Band has endured and adapted to the changes that generations put on their music.. WOW! What a sound. Huh? Know this, E-Street will, I believe, not abandon the family we have become.
Im so glad i got to see him with Bruce and the E Street Band a few times... i will always remember Clarence's solo in Jungleland in Dublin 2009. A Truly gifted man, and he was in the wire too! RIP
God, if you are out there, take good care of this man. He deserves it. RIP Big Man, thanks for all the memories of growing up with that sax of yours as the theme song to my life. <3
God Bless a one off, what a guy, Take your Sax to Heaven, the Angels will be dancing. such a sad day, my thoughtsare with Bruce, Max, Steve, Niels, hey you can have a jam with Danny...take care...xxx
If I hear one more time that he collaborated with Lady Gaga on two tracks of her new album and his last appearance was in one of her videos I am going to throw up. So what? He collaborated with many musicians throughout the years. It just seems that the media is hammering this to a ridculous degree. It's not like this women needs media hype. I think they should focus on what Clarence meant to Bruce and the ESB as well as all of his loyal friends who have supported the band throughout the years.
Today is a sad day on earth and a really happy one in heaven, we all miss our biggest man but I think it was time for him to leave us and play for God and all angels, they´ve been waiting for him for 69 years...
RIP Big Man. I'm 23 and I only truly discovered Bruce and the E Street Band in the last few years, but his music and his personality seen through his performances on stage impacted me enormously in that time. Thank you for your powerful music. Michael, Australia
"I was a born rock and roll sax player..." yes you were! And that's how you lived your life- and you were one of my biggest influences. ONE NOTE from you was just as powerful to me as 50 notes by the genius Coltrane... you taught me that one note perfectly placed could change the world.
RIP Big Man it was an honor for me to see you live in concert for 10Times!!!
You´re the best!!!
Please give your energy from heaven to the other members of the E-Street Band so that we can see the absolutly BEST BAND OF THIS UNIVERSE again here in Germany.
THIS MAN is one of the most intellegent men in the world ever. Say a prayer for me Clarence, I want to be where you are one day too. Thanks for everything. I love you, man.

wow how we all blow by the winds of fate, the strength of there friendship always shows on stage, even befor you hear how thay met you know it must have been a special moment in both there lives, makes my feel happy to know that some people have good things blown there way sometimes in this world, some times it seems iv had nothing but rotten timing and met all the wrong people, maybe thats the diffrents between the few that come good and the millons that just dont, beautiful story to hear
@skippbitman I just did some research on him. His name is Norman Seldin and he was a musician who played in several shore bands and considers himself one of the trench guys in the Asbury Park music scene. Get this, he came out with a two cd 46 track set titled, Asbury Park Then and Now. Five members of the ESB play on several tracks recorded in 1980. Clarence played with him in a band called, The Joyful Noyze. Google him. There is an interesting article on him.
You wanna talk about cool, search no farther, the big man is like a marvel comic superhero of cool, you see him on stage in a slick ass suit blowing into that horn and you know God exists...I also love the fact that in his ryder he to this day demands a knee wrap and two joints, now how playa is that
Thx for sharing! We're lucky that those two met on that stormy night.....and you can still see the connection they have since then......And CC is such a wonderful, nice and friendly person!!! Thx Clarence for all your sax solos!!!
A very cool guy - one of the coolest in the E street band, and easily recognisable as a jazz man - he can say what he likes, but it was the jazz effect that made Bruce's music so good, so original, so full of character. A friend of mine heard the Boss for the first time the other day - Badlands - and she said that it had strange harmonies in it - this is what I'm talking about.
