Looks like Chinese lanterns to me. Especially when you consider how close you were to the new year. They really need to make these illegal because it causes people such concern.

I saw 30-40 of these during new years eve 2012 in Norway. It was truly an amazing experience. Even had a couple of real close up ones.

Great capture! If you would like to see UFOs in the daytime start photographing in the area of the sun, partly cloudy days are best because of the contrast of clouds and sun plus it allows them to be closer without being easily detected. I feel the sky beings have always been around us however when we are occupied with daily life and stress it is easy for them to go undetected. I post often on my website so that it gives people an understanding that these are not random events.

awesome footage!!! From my own personal experiences, UFO activity is heavy over the NC skies, especially near the coast as some claim that these 'orbs' or 'crafts' enter and exit via the ocean.... anyways, keep a close eye on the sky and keep that camera handy. seeing a UFO or UFO(s) can be a life changing experience no matter what beliefs you may hold on the subject of E.T.s, ect..... I just find the whole phenomenon fascinating as well as deceiving. ;)

Yes, they are not stars. There has been many sightings in NC. Be ready folks, more will come this year.

@hazletay Hey - I BELIEVE YOU. Consumer grade equipment not suited for night-time sky-object recording. Check out my videos and the videos of those I list on my channel page seeing them in various world-wide locations. They are everywhere, and there are apparently many checking out Earth.... If you want to film/see them better, get some decent night vision -- like Yukon Night Ranger binocs w/Video Out jack to record.
