  • Goououou... fap fap fap..

  • he looks like christian bale in that photo

  • @evilfinchman oh my god how amazing would it be if christian bale played him in a biopic of his life?!

  • i remember when there was intelligent music on the radio like this song that didn;t insult your intelligence those were the days

  • i brought my motherfucking self here. to listen to music. not no fucking movie or game.

  • thank you to the creators of the simpson other wise i wouldn't know about this song :D replaceable you great episode

  • johnny hellion brought me here

  • i have no moe golden years. fucker took em.

  • Oyea

  • saw the man live in 1978, The Return of the Thin White Duke, awesome, 3 hours of singing, intermission to change clothes, he taught me a great lesson, vocals are an instrument too, thank God I found him, thanks to big brother, got my first album, Space Oddity, second release, at 11 years old and my collection needs just a little more

  • Earl Slick on guitar.....yaaaaaaaaaaaa

  • @Reformer64 No way! Are you serious? That is too amazing. What was it like?!

  • Wow, real instruments. Real vocals, no auto tune. These were the golden years for music!

  • I shared a cab with him back in 69......those were Golden years..

  • Hi. David told me to tell you that he sent me. -name dropper

  • 9 people aren't in their golden years

  • why I'm here? The stork brung me

  • beautiful man, great song, awesome album, lucky us.

  • aww you can collect your Free Bus Pass and Heating allowance tomorrow.;)

Golden years indeed. All the very best.My Inspiration.;)

  • I don't recall asking anyone about what brought them here. With most videos it's pretty obvious what brought you here: the contents of the video being shown.

  • We're all here by the grace of God

  • Nice pic! But which came first.... Davey's pic here or John Travolta's Saturday Night Fever pic with a cig hanging off the mouth, same style suit. same slicked back hair, and the look too? David's picture here reminded me of Travolta's pic. Anyone know?

  • @Li9 As far as I'm aware, this picture was taken during a live performance on the "Soul Train" so, unless he was uber-posing (which I doubt since he is coked out of his mind during this performance), Bowie just looked sexy naturally.

  • @PandoraScope Omg, Bowie's got total appeal. I've gotten into him the past couple months and DAMN, I didn't know how coolhot he is. Without all the alter-ego get ups and make-up that is.

  • @Li9 definately david bowie

  • @kamikazemomma5 Thanks, Kamik! :) He's got some great pics and vids. But I see that he masked his good looks and coolness with all these "masks".

  • Mr. Jones.....this time tomorrow....you'll be 65....you have reached your Golden Years...

But your still as Cool as ever....Happy Birthday David...My favorite Limey.... :-)

  • Knights Tale :))

  • @fancypanther04 how the fuck do you forget bout Bowie !?

  • Quiting smoking feels like the worst idea when you see him do it...

  • @hudsonBay89 I'm sure he regrets smoking all those years though. If you are thinking of quitting, you gotta think of what is best FOR YOU and YOUR HEALTH, ya know what I mean? ;)

  • mr. stardust

  • summoned here by BOWIE

  • i forgot how much i love bowie!

  • Wow! That was SCARY! At first I thought David had started smoking. Luckily, it's only Mick! Ha! Ha! Great tune!

  • @sixtiesrockboy he does smoke... or did

  • @IzzieMinorrs Gave up in 2002-ish.

  • 9 people haven't lived in the golden years

  • I'm a tad too young for Bowie.... but I heard this in "A Knights Tale", so I came to listen to the whole song.

    I'm amazed.

  • just one VERY good song. especially nowadays, since I be being OLD! still looking for those golden years too! HA H AH AHA HA

  • such an amazing song :) gotta love a bit of DB

  • Bowie Made These Years Golden.

  • Cool as fuck

  • ILL LISTEN TO BOWIE FOR A THOUSAND YEARS

  • i dont mean to brag but i could be a backing singer on smack

  • One of the Coolest songs by David Bowie,a very creative lad from Brixton. i love the way he delivers this and that ending is Real style; I just love it!

  • If you like this song you MUST check out the album, Station to Station - absolute masterpiece.

  • I'm a straight man but my god, dude looks like such a stud on the cover for this single.

  • @5AU5AGEROLL Well, he certainly ain't gay either. All the makeup and stuff was a marketing ploy which came about when his country singing days didn't work out...he decided to go a totally different direction with his music...it was a genius idea...

  • @5AU5AGEROLL I knew you were straight as soon as I saw your user name! Ha! Ha! j.k.

  • Notice that the largest parts of the song, in terms of volume, and emotion are cut off, I believe this to be the end of all years, hence the term "golden years."

  • i was watching da movie in channel 46 and i use my shazam and scan it :D Fuck it

  • I know a lot of music lover's are young and inexperianced...but thumbs up if David Bowie brought you here!

  • The first time I laid eyes on Mr Bowie I was 10. He was on the Midnight Special. I was in love.. My admiration has lasted longer for him than all of my relations.. His music is simply timeless.

  • Apparently Elvis turned this song down. I can imagine the king singing this.

  • @oscarcanterbury if elvis turned down this song the king mad a mistake

  • omg heard this on Knights Tale, found out it was Bowie, fell that much more in love with it! ^_^

  • @solo4solong Wow' it took seeing Knights Tale to hear this song thats been out 40 some years and a movie that came out a decade ago?!?!

  • @BDFCBig well..yeah! im only sixteen bruh! and i've always loved this song, just never knew what it was called or how to find it! SoundHound saved my musical life!

  • @solo4solong doesn't matter what route it was that got people to discover good music, just so long as it *is* discovered.

  • heard this on the radio today, fell in love with it

  • David Bowie is my Golden MAN!

  • When I first heard this song in the 70's, my ears heard a black man's voice.

  • @Blaise7675 Not just that, but this song has a whole lot of soul to it. Your ears have not deceived you my friend.

  • wtf is everyone talking about? good taste in music "brought me here"

  • @ZACKnirvana cuz you were just born with good musical taste, right? pffft, fuck off you sanctimonious cunt

  • @carlo88moe yes i was, and you seem upset about something, you should do something about that.

  • Simpsons brought me here, because I thought of A Knights Tale.

  • the simpsons :D

  • David Bowie being amazing brought me here

  • @eighteen18jts @walrys11 You might as well have said 'I'm a twat, thumbs up if you're one too!'

  • With the price of gold at $1700 dollars an ounce, these are truly the golden years. lol

  • My favorite song of all ever!

  • Comment removed

  • My first 45 :-) <3

  • OMG He looks soooo hot on that album cover! yummy

  • acid trip

  • once they loved you opening doors and pulling some strings...

  • Is there any truth to the wikipedia comment that David had tried to offer the song to that other January 8 icon, Elvis Presley ?!?? Hard to imagine what Elvis would have achieved with it. "Way Down" was probably as close as it got to Elvis attempt at Disco.

  • ...yes...

  • golden

  • @JarethLover1 Ledger is tho..

  • this song was written with angie in mind his 1st wife, not many live performances of this on you tube.shame really

  • One of those "stoner" songs of the '70's. This has Coool movement. I love how it fades out!

  • @pbrucpaul I didn't know cocaine-fueled plastic soul was considered "stoner".

  • @Ecubyansoapbox His deal at that time was actually Heroin in a Big way. So Cocaine-fueled plastic Soul? Hmmm, that's a new one, yep gotta remember that. The number is still a Cool sound.

  • Ever open your mind to all kind of differant music....... My qeuss is NO

  • omg.....Knight's Tale!!!!! I still cannot believe his fine ass is dead!!!

  • Thumbs up for Golden Years people like me! My motto?: Turn 60, look 40, act 30!

  • damn! wish i knew this one back when i used to do coke 12 days a week :)

  • A rocker with real substance and a unique voice of his own. Thank you for

posting and to paulostroff99 for sharing!

  • Love David Bowie....the epitome of sexy.

  • How can you listen to Golden Years, and NOT feel good! My ex-girlfriend's father and I used to have a couple of beers, and rock out to this in 1976! Such FUN! Love the arrangement!

  • @rftgf08 Haha

  • @rftgf08 then why listen to it?

  • @rftgf08 LOL!

  • @rftgf08 Say that again, and I'll sic Mick Jagger on you!

  • @rftgf08 yah um shut up

  • Can Anyone tell me what Golden years is about? is it about 60's scene? or the 70's?

  • @futurecat71 it's about bowie on numerous drugs in the early 70s

  • I think my ears have just come

  • Knights Tale <3

    Haha

  • fuckin' love the guitar in this.

all of the guitarist's that david bowie has worked with have been amazing.

    great song too ( ^_^)

  • Shades of being 16 in 1976 in my 57 Chevy on a rainy California day and spinning my wheels all over town. I can still smell the rain and rubber. Those were my Golden Years. It's been all downhill from there for some 36 years. It's hard to believe that I was at my life's peak at 16! 0__o

  • @1971SuperLead My father was the same age at that year. His car was a "76 malibu CLASSIC!" thats what he would always say

  • @ShaiqNBaiq5464 Ah, the 1976 Chevy Malibu Classic. The very last good looking Chevy. Now it really is a classic! Then it merely carried the name of "Classic". 305 V8, 2 door and still rear wheel drive.

  • @1971SuperLead Yup Yup! He told me the engine broke on him some how and he ended up replaceing it with a 302 or something smaller and it just wasnt the same. He saw some kid a few years back driving through the mall parking lot in one. He chased that guy down and was asking him all about it. HaHa

  • @1971SuperLead I had a 1977 Malibu Classic.

    I loved that car.

  • @Philtration 305 V8? I thought they were rather good looking cars. The 78 Monte Carlo was pretty cool too. My friend's mom had one.

  • @1971SuperLead My wife had a 1976 Monte Carlo but that was long before we met.

    Those were the days!

  • @1971SuperLead hahahaha ... :S some simi9lar here...

  • @enagyb Back then a cop might pull me over and warn me about smoking my tires. Today you would need a lawyer for committing such a crime.

  • Everybody has some golden years in them, Bowie rocks. And 8 people suck!!!!!!!!

  • @THEATREofPAIN270 8 people havent been to Oxford town

  • @ShaiqNBaiq5464 I have never been there either but I know good friggin music when I hear it. Jam on.......

  • @THEATREofPAIN270 Right on Brotha

  • montrose helm, and t rex gotta put the time frame in there

  • alexxxxxxxxxxx3 u r a fucktard. Those musician u just named wished they could come out with music twice as memorable as the garbage they make.

  • 2 years before disco and 8 years before house (give or take)... someone got it right...

  • Like if you think of Knights Tale when you hear this

  • @walrys11 I think of Dead Man on Campus instead.

  • @walrys11 I can't help it cause everyone's mentioning it when I see this song...

  • @walrys11 I think of the movie "The Labyrinth" when I hear David Bowie.

  • @walrys11 I wish I could find the mix they played in the movie. the one with the different intro.

  • Funk.

  • ufffffffffffffffffffffffffffff sexy ¡¡¡¡¡¡

  • my soul is plastic

  • everytime you bing an angel gets it;s wing

  • Not trolling at all. I love Bowie. The style was right for the time. But Iggy Popp really shaped that style with the writing. If you don't hear it sad for you. I wasn't bashing Bowie. I was telling it like it is.

Would Bowie be Bowie today without Iggy Popp's writing? I say no.

Just like the Beatles were Lenon and MCcarthy. Without both the Beatles would not have been what they were.

  • @as435943 U got it all wrong man I'm sure Iggy pop himself will tell you that you are wrong

  • @xXxstunner Yeah. I saw an interview with Iggy Pop when he said that he and Bowie both stole from each other.

  • @TaraClan That's is cause they have worked together in many times, so he said it like a joke, but they are very good friends and they wouldn't be if they were stealing things from eachother.

  • @xXxstunner well they did live together in Berlin for a time. I met Tim Pope last year (famous music video director and good friend of Iggy) who was telling me about Iggy Pop and David Bowie - they really were very, very good friends and it's easy to see that Iggy influenced Bowie quite a lot.

  • @celebritymurderparty of course, they were friends, that doesn't mean steal

  • @as435943 i do agree. iggy had some good songs. But the market wasn't there for him.

I really liked rock and rule. up side down in a river of mud.

  • I wonder how much Bowie paid Iggy Popp. You can hear Iggy all over Bowie's old stuff. The odd but interesting way each song was put toether. Bowie owes Iggy his style and fortune.

Without him Bowie's style and place in rock would be interesting to see if anyone would have remembered him or even cared:P

  • @as435943

I'm calling troll sir. The two were developed very independently of each other and dominated totally different styles on two respective continents, and both got big at nearly the same time. Ergo you must be troling.

  • The price of gold just went over $1,600 today.

  • sexy beasttt

  • I remember being around 9 and begging God that I would grow to be David Bowie's wife. I still love him.

  • @Dune137 Sorry, Mick Jagger already did that! Ha! Ha!

  • @Dune137 Both our prayers were DENIED! LOL

  • @Dune137 you and I have a LOT in common friend...We are his wives..in our sweetest dreams!!!!

  • 70@Dune137 I bought " space oddity " in the 70's when I was a kid, my first 45rpm, wish I still had all those!

  • Knights Tale (:

  • The 70's - golden years for Bowie.

  • David bowie was not under drugs when he was writing his songs..he was under Acid and happiness

  • Bowie is the man who fell to Earth

  • Lat night they loved you, opening doors and pulling some strings...

  • it is my first time , where i hear david bowie .

its a really good song :)

  • to those who love david dont try to explain obvius things to bad music headed people.they are dopes

  • There have been two periods of golden years in my life. This song came out during the first one.

  • @alexxxxxx that comment dosnt even make sense david bowie was way before lil wayne and david has talent stop trolling ive seen at least 16 videos where youre trolling. is that all you do with your life go on rock/alternative videos and start trying to sound smart first if you wanna actually make sense know your shit, then try to get a life

  • Was David Bowie ever under drug influence when writing his songs?

  • @alexxxxxx Wow, It appears that you don't know your music history buddy, seeing as Justin Bieber is a mimicry of R&B and Hip hop, whereas David Bowie was one of the most unique and music changing figures throughout the progression of the seventies. And saying David Bowie tried to imitate Lil Wayne, well obviously you didn't check that Lil Wayne, born in 1982, was not even alive yet when David Bowie released his first single in 1969, or this song itself, 1975.

  • @baseballfreak467 People should stop bringing up Justin Beiber. Especially on pages where good music is present.

  • Rutger..

  • Rutger..

  • @alexxxxxx You're obviously a fucking mental case!

  • the plastic soul rocks!

  • this plastic soul rocks!!!!!

  • my hips are swaying , my feet are going up and down, my neck is doing funny things, shivers up my spine, and I make sexy movement, what's going on here! DAMN IT I"M DANCING!!

  • @heyapathy Are you sure you aren't just having a seizure?

  • @alexxxxxx thats the funniest thing i ever heard. it took me 2 minutes to stop laughing so hard after I read this... to each his own i guess!

  • the only creep here its you alexxxxxx.

  • @alexxxxxx its funny how people like you define an era's "good music" with the super mainstream and popular shitty music instead of finding the amazing music youre too stupid to find and listen to

  • @alexxxxxx Fail troll fails HARD!

  • @boo8396 meaning the only good crap they did was the first album and one song from antichrist the other songs are crap off way to albums, HE does ALOT of covers

Compairing Marillyn Manson to Bowie is just absolute stupidity!!!!! MM's cover is better? I like Bahuas Ziggy Stardust as much as Bowie, but not that ugly troll, his for the last 10 yrs has sucked, not including covers. sorry just IMO.

  • @boo8396 I knew Brian Warner in person when the put out portrait of an American Family, my ex BF loved the album. Cept for that album and one song from anti christ superstar, they are famous for their numerous cover, like sweet dreams, tainted love, down in the park, goldern years, I could go on and on. He has even worked with Lady GaGa on a mix of "love games" pls grow up, you don't know everything. I have even seen them numerous times before they stupid famous from sweet dreams.

  • i belive in allah all wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyy @ 1;51

  • i love this song!!!

  • @moe958 omg all Manson can do IS DO COVERS! cept " Portrat of an American Family" and there are only 2 good songs!!

  • @Karunadevidasi hahah thats funny. because counting his 8 major albums...i see he has alot of songs that arent covers..that are actually pretty good ;)

  • @Karunadevidasi Do you realize that you have no clue as to what the fuck you're talking about?

If you do, you're some attention seeking prat.

If you don't, then you're just a prat.

  • kendra made me listen to this crap...but its still tight brah naah mean lolz

  • yeah dude, hes got the cheekbones to conquer the world but all he did was make beautiful music!

  • 6 people hit the dislike.
