Torque plate. I'm sure he isn't teaching anyone at BMW anything they don't already know, being that they make F1 engines. The original engine was never designed to make more than it's rated hp, so it will have some short comings.

1khp DD is incredibly impressive though.

FWIW, most of the big car makes have gone away from honing stones (even diamond) and now use CNC controlled laser honing. Cheers!

definately like the music in this video more and very informative. guess they dont build bmws from the factory like they used to:( just think they used a BMW 2002 production block in the crazy 1980s 1500hp F1 car.

@Skater3z3b It's not question of building the motor from the factory like they used to. It's just that for a N/A motor the S54 is pretty much maxed out from the factory. To turbo this motor you need to do this type of work. But only if you don't want your motor to grenade itself quickly.
