  • How did you quickly change the radius of the Paint Selection tool without going into that tool's menu? I recall it has something to do with dragging the middle mouse button, correct? How exactly does it work again?

    Nothing to do with the MMB. Just hold down the "b" key while you're in Paint Mode.

    Your cursor than turn to a circle the size of your brush. Drag your LMB left or right to decrease

    or increase the size of your brush. Once done, release the key and keep on painting.

    (Tip to remember: "b" stands for "brush"!)

  • you dont want too many polys to work with the construction of the face is..... well.. you know.. lol the edge flow however is quite fair for facial animation although I do believe he over did it with the edge loops tool :P lol dear GOD!! look at that chin!!! I dont think you could make him smile even if you force blendshapes on him and cluster fuck his face, hes still not going to be a happy camper HAHAHAHAHA great tutorial on blendshapes btw ;)

  • why is that sometimes people have polys that look like squares ( [ ] ) and other have a pine through ( [/] ) ??? and how to you switch between... also, how do i 100% reset maz without reinstalling??? (NOT file > REsET)

  • The polygons with 3 points are called Tris, and the polygons with 4 points are called Quads. Anything above that becomes an N-Gon (I think) which means a polygon with "n" sides (a variable).

  • You usually can't switch inbetween.

  • as a average user of maya I can say yes there is way many unecessary edges in his model.

  • There is no such thing as "0 topology"...no one in 3d says anything like that. Unless you mean there's no geo there.

  • I'm applying blend shape, and the target object moves when I ride the slider on the blend shape editor. The target object just moves arbitrarily from left to right, towards the other object. I can't get it to stop dong this. Is there some weird setting I'm not seeing? Can someone help me?

  • I would suggest face "modeling" tutorials, this would be more intermediate/advanced since it assumes your familiar with the program and have enough modeling skills to get that far yourself.

  • dude this says face setup when really its not completely, i am a total noob at Maya right now, and noobs like me need to know atleast how to build a face (like putting the different shapes together or w/e to actually make the face) lol

  • Thi is face setup - setup is rigging the face for animation, you are looking for face modeling.
