  • the difference between violin and fiddle are the way its played

  • it was disappointing because they tried wayyy too hard to "americanize" it! thousands of people were there for CELTIC woman! If I wanted to hear True Colors, I'd turn on the radio! I LOVE them SOOO much but this particular performance let me down. =C

  • @stinkypinky12693 I wasn't a bit disappointed when they did "True Colors" last year during their Isle of Hope tour. I liked the fact that they are doing some new songs rather than just re-treading the old. My favorites of the new ones were probably "Goodnight My Angel", and "You'll Be In My Heart".

  • @stinkypinky12693 i do agree with you, i miss the style of songs they previously have had in their line-up, but after thinking about it, the Isle of Hope Tour was dedicated to Americans for embracing them at their start. I think they might have "americanized" it, sfth, to pay tribute to the american-irish artists and in a sense paying tribute also to americans in general... i do hope though that in the next lineup they will return to their roots....

  • catchy! :)

  • I was there too!!!. I reached the last tikets. All Radio city was full. The violinist girl was impeccable. And the dresses... It transports me.

  • haha i was too that was a great show

  • Mairead herself has commented that there is really no difference between a violin and a fiddle, it is the same instrument.

  • That's right. The fiddle is what peppy musicians call the violin.

  • Violin pertains to the more classical pieces like Fur Elise or something like that.... whereas Fiddle pertains to Folk music like Granualie's Dance, etc.

  • I met her last March! It was incredible!

  • I was there! :D

    Highest tier!

  • she is not a violinist she plays the fiddle there is a difference

  • I've always wanted to know what's the difference between violin and fiddle, can you help me with this?

  • As a violinist, I'm 99.9% certain there's no difference since the violin and the fiddle are the same instrument. It's simply a matter of style and technique. I am classically trained, but I have two or three violins that were my ancestors, and they played "fiddle music".

  • thank you so much for your information. I started to sudy violin last year but the teacher technique wasn't good, so I have to left it. :(

  • If are different is any where that means their not the same.

  • same instrument. played differently
