  • not being a troll but that is realllyyy ugly.

  • @CKproductions111 it was one of the first lcd screens, so screw you

  • @Yocaptainnutz Haha you can actually find USB coffee mugs quite easily now. Basically, you plug your mug in via a USB port, and it keeps your coffee warm :)

  • Happy birthday 23 years anniversary XD =)))

  • Good taste in music lol

  • what's with the tower thing beside the computer??? speaker maybe

  • @video45000 bose sub woofer / power supply

  • Not a bad looking computer at all. Unfortunately the device was underpowered for it's time, mainly because it was rushed out into production. Still a nice computer none-the-less!

  • Anything not made by Steve Jobs is NOT a mac.

  • @SirGeorge8600 so true but the computers he makes now are pretty shitty

  • @OTAlucard Steve Jobs doesnt design, doesnt make, he doesnt do anything to do with Computers/iPods/iPhones and whatnot, he just runs the company, and introduces them, Look up Johnathan Ive, he is the bold guy in all the ads*

He designs and choses the tech that goes into macs and All the iDevices. and he has since 1998, so you are saying, every Mac since 1998 Isnt a mac?

  • @OTAlucard Why do you say that?

  • @secondnaturerec what did i say

  • @OTAlucard Anything not made by Steve Jobs is NOT a mac.

@SirGeorge8600 so true but the computers he makes now are pretty shitty

  • @secondnaturerec ah well its kinda true the apple III was a fail the only thing that he did right was the NeXT Cube and osx and the macintosh

99.99% of all new apple computers are foxconn china crap that breaks down in 6 months so its all the same as every other computer out there now but 10x the price

better to just go out and make a hackintosh or something and save yourself the money if you want to run osx

i just pick up scraps when the new macs become old and "worthless"

    Case and point^^

  • @OTAlucard You're wrong. The new ones are as reliable as the old ones, hence the success of the Intel Macs. They're around for long enough to have an insight. I kept my first Intel one when they were released 4 years ago and it always worked smoothly. I now have another one and it works even better.

  • @SirGeorge8600

a great computer, unfortunately ahead of its time.

By the way, what is that thing right next to it.

  • @SirGeorge8600 Steve Jobs doesn't make Macs. He just presents them.

  • @erikeg9 lol

  • is that any good?

  • you can buy the car on the picture for the price of that mac .

  • awesome design for new era for computer

  • 34gtr on a TAM? Nice.

  • Good taste in music, brother

  • looks as gay as adam lambert

  • @hobosapiensapien2 you look like adam lambert

  • @OTAlucard so does his mom

  • looks really stupid, it has such a small screen and is overall ugly, i love my mac but i hate that thing

  • would really like to have one today.

Think about having one of these updated.

    Core 2 duo 2.53Ghz, 4GB DDR3 RAM, Nvidia 9400m + 9600GT OSX 10.6.3

    AAHHH i SO WANT ONE!!!

  • @pioneerz450 Look at this /watch?v=JE79XVI9y-w&feature=related

  • some reason this doesn't look like an apple product, looks like it would be an HP computer from that time

  • LOL What?! Never! HP Computer looked different, I have one from that time *lol*

  • lol this is the ugliest computer

  • wow. r u blind? this is the most innovatively designed, sleek and well built computer i have ever seen. (and im a PC.)

  • were would i buy one i seen a video were it also had video imput on the back ? any ideas ?

  • try ebay and all of them have video input

  • Windows SUX!!!! Mac OS and OSX is the best!!!!!!!

  • Ahh,but that is a matter of opinion my friend. (multiplatform Vista, Mac OS, and Solaris 10)

  • that for song playing?

  • @TheHummer585 It's "Leroy Brown".

  • Mac FTW!

  • guys I don't see anything tremendously awesome about these machines, I mean I am confused, what's so big about these MACINTOSH machines?

please answer me, I mean how they are different from regular PC...

  • mac os

  • ???

  • Mac os can only run on a mac legaly

it is a unix based os that has very little visues

a mac computer can run windows so the only real difference between a mac and a pc is Mac computers can run mac os.

  • gotcha

    thanks! :)

  • you could just get a hackintosh or you could just run linux

  • Comment removed

  • They work

  • PCs also does...

  • not really

  • what?

  • Hi there. Great video.

Any chance of filming the startup sequence on this machine. Thanks.

  • what OS?

  • Operating System.

  • os 8 something under 8.6

  • love the song

  • You're so lucky to own one of these! They are so hard (and expensive) to come by nowadays! Take good care of it!

  • A nice Mac you have. TAM seems almost better than the new Macs.

  • is this running os 8 or 9?

  • its running os 8

  • In the 9th season of Seinfeld, Jerry had one.

  • That is a very nice computer men. I frist seen this computer on batman and robin when I was a kid, and since then I have always wanted one.

  • i was reading on ebay that if you install a new hard drive like i did it could kill the mac is that true

  • Some sites say that you can't go over 4 GB, but an IDE Powerbook HDD should work.

  • the baddest man in the whole damn town!!! thats wut it's about muther fucker !!

  • The TAM is a great jukebox. The sound system is designed by Bose.

  • if your on a budget too, an imac g3 SE (either one) has a good sound system.

  • whats that thing on the right of the computer?

  • the powersupply and woofer

  • thx

  • Mac said their computers can run Windows.

So i can have that kick ass computer, and keep mah vista!

  • For something this old, you'd need a DOS card. And that barely runs Windows 3.1. Win 2-bit is only bootable on 2006+ Macintosh computers, the ones that run and parasite on the nonconservative Pentium processor Apple had been making fun of for 15 years. But the fun fact was that these things got delivered to you in a limo.

Luckily, these thing run Mac OS 7.6.1. Once I get my hands on one of these, I'll make sure it'll crunch up Win 7-bit into little bits.

  • you could run windows on a mic since like 1997 n00b

  • Yes, I know that. I was replying to someone who was expecting Vista to work on that machine.

You can put Windows 3.1 on a ~1993 Quadra 700 with a little work. But to boot Windows on Macs from there to 1997 requires a NuBus/PDS DOS card (Or VirtualPC) Win 3.1 will run at probably a minimum on those cards.

But Vista? I'm not even expecting the install CD to finish loading, even with the fastest processor "card" (200 MHz at max?) at most about 128MB of RAM!

  • the only way your going to get vista to run on this is to gut the computer and put a whole new one inside

  • The song is called bad bad leroy brown and it sounds like elton john singing this.

  • jim croce <3

  • what OS is that?

  • os 8.something

  • OS. 8? But wasn't this released in 2000? I mean for the new millennium?

  • 1997

  • JIM CROCHE!!!!

  • yep :D

  • When did that Mac come out?

  • 1996

  • Really? It looks so modern for the '90's! But hey, its a Mac, what do you expect?

  • nothing but the best

  • YEah! I know. I am typing this on a Mac G5 BABY!

  • lol, i want a TAM too there is one on eBay. Cirrently typing on Aluminum MacBook Pro :P

  • YEah, that would be cool. Nice to know that there are some wise people out there who know that macs are nothing but da bomb!

  • ya, i hate Microsoft and Bill Gates, he was working for Apple at the starting.

  • what is that box thing next to it?

  • Speaker system.

  • Wich type of connection for the speakers 3.5mm jack (i don't think it is 3.5mm but just as an example).

  • explain what your trying to say theres a special cable just for the tam that connects the sub woofer and the power supply thats in the sub woofer into the tam then theres 3 speakers 2 on the left under the cloth cover thing and 1 on the right that are just connected with red and black wires right to the board or so i think

  • subwoofer

  • yea :(

  • i dont know what guys are complainin about... this thing is a piece of art and history... try getting your hands on one right now, let alone 20 or 30 years from now... keep it in good condition dude its freakin sweet.

  • i m not useing it as a computer its realy a piece of art to me and a nice add to the collection

  • if they had a thing where you could take a g5 and put it in this shell i would buy it and use it evrey day i think it looks better then alot of the crap computers made today

jerry seinfeld had one in his apartment in the show

  • well it seems theres this buzzing noise coming from the speakers when no music is playing

what should i do someone msg me

  • It's a well known trouble according to wikipedia, simply called 'The Buzz'. And not a lot can be done! You'll just have to live with it...

  • You can fix that TAM buzz, I found a website a while ago with the info, but don't have the link. I'm sure a search will get you to it quick enough.

  • Apple was early when it came to the modern day iMacs you see.

  • I love mine!

  • Whats that thing beside it? A 20th anniversary coffee machine? Or is it the computer itself?

  • speaker or computer not sure

  • its the sub woofer and Power Unit

  • i would kill for one of those...

  • amazing computer!

  • that system is 10 years old and had an LCD at that time, which is pretty amazing. It was a 10,000 dollar system and it arrived at your house in a Limo and someone came to set it up

  • yep its a great piece i like it

i use it for a sound system atm and i have to say it sounds great it looks realy cool if you ask me

but when i got it the hdd died and i had 2 put in a 40 gb hdd that made me upset :(

  • upset? it came with a 1 gig hd.

  • Yeaaa but you want to have all the orginal parts thats why i m keeping the orginal hdd and not throwing it away i m going to try to keep it stock

  • best of luck with it, it is very cool looking and they sell on ebay for about $900 even now.

  • Dude at the time (back in 1997 it was and still is the most wonderful item in the world. Apple was well ahead of its time back in 97.

  • 1 gig hd, 96 mb ram, yep, my mp3 player has more power. it was very nice for its time, but today its garbage

  • I agree, in 1996-1997 was a great machine, today is a piece of shit.

  • your right it is garbage compaired to the computers today quad core etc

but it looks cool sounds great and i like it

my dad doesnt says its takeing up space but whatever

  • what kind of mp3 player has 96mb ram?

  • Yeah it may be old compare to computers now but thats a thing of beauty And its looks like something that would come out now. Its a collectors.

  • Don't know where you got your information, but it's wrong.

The TAM came stock with a 2GB HDD, and 32MB of RAM.

2GB may not be a huge drive for storing MP3's these days, but you can put a PCI USB card in it, and then load up a memory stick with all the MP3s you want...

Nothing compares to this computer in its design elegance. Put it on a shelf today with modern specs, and people would buy it.
