This tour was amazing I cant wait to see the finished home ! you found some good stuff .. Many blessings on your new home. I think its so adorable !! I would guess he owned a shop some where. Maybe that was left over things. What ever you have so much work cut out for you.But I am sure its will be so beautiful when done, Its worth it!
This property is seriously amazing. I don't know what the what the property prices are like, but I would have gladly paid over $400,000 for this place.
And all the history you're discovering in this place. You could easily create an entire website dedicated to just this house. Seriously make this place a museum and charge for entry, I'll be your first customer.
What are you gonna do with all the STUFF? Are you gonna call a carbage truck to come get all you want to throw away or what? Your car is so small you can't possibly do it yourself.
It must have taken a lot of work on making this vid, but it was greatly done with all the links and always being brought back to the original video so easily! Great job, I quite enjoyed this exploration. :Db
Congratulations on your new home, I wish you many more years of health and happiness to enjoy in it. I have no idea what your plans are in Japan but I hope it all pans out for you. I loved your tour of the old place and look forward to seeing how you manage to put it into order. You say the Japanese wouldn't touch it, well you certainly have your hands full.
You sound like a fantastic fellow I wish you all the best.
jema2609: I think TJC should invest in selling stickers, and small other HELLO KITTY items on their EBAY channel, and perhaps other neat trinkets too! Would not be too much to send in shipping rates if its smaller sized items....and wow what a cool way to present a video TJC, love this one!
What a wonderful property! But please, PLEASE, tell me that you sold or donated anything you didn't want to keep. I would love to find tea sets as pretty as the ones you've shown on Ebay (but they seldom carry anything that nice!). Plus with lots of people losing everything last March, that would've helped some of them out.
thats a great house! congrats! not a bad price either. especially since it has so many buildings! it seems like it would be a very fun house. the layout is pretty good too. also, you have a lot of space in the front and such. i can see a BBQ party happening :) i hope that if i ever get to buy a house in japan, it would be sort of like this one. good luck on fixing it up to your liking! maybe you can post a video after its all fixed up? that would be great!
Hey I'm pretty sure you havn't gone over this in detail. I love Japan culture and would like to go there but do you ever feel alone with all the japanese people and no foreigners really.
thats a crazy amount of stuff i thought i had it bad moving into my place and a few months back and filling a dozen or so black bags of bank statements and checkbooks from the 70's and whatever else but where do you even start with all that!!! (only new, well un-used thing i found wash an old wash board ha ha)
Your new home is just amazing! With some work and money invested you can make it into a paradise! 200,000$ is a really cheap price for something like this.
I loved this interactive video so much, please do more detailed videos like this!
wise sillyolddude, please do giveaways of useless rubbish and interesting old stuff!
getting something from this old japanese house would be......well i can´t even describe it. especially also since it´s yours now >o< plleeeeeeeeeaaaase?
Thanks so much for such an informative and entertaining video... good luck with THAT fixer upper... hopefully you can return your investment on all those goodies you've acquired!
That's a really nice house you got. After watching all the videos on the rooms it looks like its got a lot of potential to become a great home. Got to admit some of the rooms were a little creepy but still once cleared out im sure they will be fine...
Also thanks alot for taking the time to film all of that great videos look foward to the before and afters!
Wow i love property's like, not only are they cheaper than regular houses but its an experience to clean it up. Also Congrats a buying a new home this place has so much potential. Good luck
This is absolutely fascinating. Clearly, the Oji-san has lived a pretty interesting life in this place!
I must say as well, this is incredibly well put-together on your part. You've put a lot of time and effort into making this and I've loved every minute of it, so thank you.
Having probably spent the last 45 minutes looking at all the videos within videos, I can honestly say, good purchase there mate. Loads of land and "interesting" sheds/mancaves/potential museum/dojo. It's a blank canvas (once you clear out the crap) and it must be exciting to think about what you can do with the place. Great video/s and looking forward to future "Doing DIY in Japan" videos!
our place in tokyo is on 110 m2 which is pretty good for tokyo. but yours looks to have 10 times that size
Cant wait to see the reno videos and good luck with it all!!! Im about to embark on renovating our house in tokyo which is a bit of challenge in the city.
with all tht cleaning we will probably see you in 6 month hahaha, wow tht elderly man is amazing u get t more than u pay for. update more on ur new house
So, are you now going to re-gift all those unused items to people back in the old country. And for the unwanted items, call the people with the large disposal bin to drop on off. When its full they can exchange it for another empty. The video was great. Thank you for all the work to show it.
I loved the videos! In every video there was a story inside my head, the story of the previous owner... like, maybe he had a wonderful life until his wife passed away and went into a deep depression and started to drink and buy stuff to feel satisfied and less lonely... i feel sad...
Thank you so much for posting this. I got the impression that the previous owner was either a shopkeeper or got used to buying stuff for the "rainy days". (Maybe he took part in World War 2.) Still wondering why his family didn't collect most of this stuff. If you are planning on selling some of the stuff found during your explorations, please tell us viewers your ebay account name:).
I felt like I was inside a video game waiting to get attacked by zombies. But man this is by far my most favorite video of TheJapanChannelDcom yet! I almost get a feeling that he had a life with his wife and she ended up passing away, or leaving him. As for the kids clothes she may he been pregnant and lost the child, but doubt it, and then he just ended up with all these unused things. Anyway your video was AWESOME!
Thanks for the tour & good luck with this project. Thought I'd share with you what the good lady thought that pump connected to a well was. Her guess? 'A sake making machine'. How's that for an answer? No wonder I'm a happy chappy! I am also dead keen to see how the renovations turn out for you. What the heck do you actually do with so much good stuff that's of no actual use to you. Is recycling & second hand big in Japan? I hope it finds a good home.
Excellent video, darn I couldn't stop watching them and I have things to do in real life/time too! LOL Once you go through a person left over possessions and pictures of his life and family, you will always live with him even if you move. I did this once it was spooky and sad, and like I adopted a ghost for life. He/wife was either a hoarder, or this was stock left from a former business of his or some passed relative that he inherited. ;D
All of the stuff reminds me of my grandfather's house. He used to buy just random... stuff. We had 4 or 5 sheds packed with useless things that weren't good for anything. Still trying to clean the place out... haha I wonder if this guy was like my grandfather, just buying random stuff just to have it?
I just finished watching every single video you've just compiled as part of your interactive tour and I would have to say that that is THE BEST interactive video tour I've EVER SEEN on YouTube! It was so informative and just absolutely incredible what you found on that estate. There is so much history there that I can't even explain how excited I am to watch your future renovation videos! Thank you so much for all the hours you put into this and please DON'T STOP POSTING! =)
Best vid you ever did! Loved it. Show us more please! Have you ever thought about renting part of it out as a holiday home? I'd stay there. Best of British cleaning that lot out!
I think I remember the video when you were looking at this place and you made a comment about making a dojo or something, either way its a very nice house.
Great video I appreciate the time and work you put into the video to make it interactive. Thanks for sharing with us. It seems like you really got a deal on that house for how big it is.
First, let me congratulate you on your home purchase. Second, of all the videos I have seen on YouTube this was by far and away the most interesting one I have ever seen. Most of your are highly informative and fun to watch, but have quite literally outdone yourself. Please keep up the good work and I can't wait to see the updates on the house as you truly make it your home.
So when do you launch your new Ebay store? Did you look at the dates on the newspapers that were wrapping some of the things? It might give a clue to age. Fascinating!
This is an enormous land and buildings for a mere USD 200,000, even with a 5-month wait! This would be a complete steal anywhere else in the West unless you're in the middle of nowhere in Iceland or somewhere. Then on top of that, all that stuff, much of it boxed and unused...
Congrats on an incredible and high potential purchase!
And not to mention the Multi- K they hit ya up with as a fine, if they catch ya dumping stuff illegally in (non-dump) sites over there aswell.... LoL, I've heard that, that-1s fines can pretty much be murder over there, something like a nominal 10k fine equivalency in U.S. currency! If 1 gets caught trying it in some areas, thats a major OuCh! as a fine, if thats usually the normal level of fine costs, over there.....

Its gotta rather nice size front yard when ya look at it, I can see why ya like it so much for its potential....
LoL!! you should make a video on on both "how too & how much" it ends up costing to get the mobile dumpsters, to take all the stuff ya need to send to a a disposal site, that can't be saved from all the original stuff in that house, LoL!!! I've heard that disposing of large amounts of stuff can cost an arm and a leg over there.....~,~'
Just watching this vid (and all the attached vids) is tiring. I can't imagine how it is for you guys actually working to make the place bright and organized. Best of luck to you! :)
Congratulations to you and yours on getting the House...Wow you all will have a lot to put away.....That strick me, that the people was not forced to take their own things with them....Here in the States...you better not leave that much stuff behind....our custom is to clean and take our belongings with us.....I guess the New Year cleaning there...is not sooo in some cases...Well, wishing you the Best with the Advanture of making a House your Home....Good Luck...
Such a GREAT project to pick up! It'll sure keep you busy for a while, haha. Good luck with everything and congratulations on the purchase! You should definitely make a video when you have everything set up and finished ^^
I remember voicing an idea like this in I believe the airport tour video. This is almost like an adventure game indeed. Loved it!
It seems like you'll be busy for quite some time and it'll be interesting to see the process. Congratulations or condolences with the purchase, I don't know. What I do know however is that i'm sure you'll be saying "my back is killing me" soon enough. lol
200k AUD + at least 650k for renovation = 850k for a big house with a nice plan and big garden... bargain !! Congratulation. I wish You and Your family happy life in this house !! (PS: Buy a small dragon statue and put it in the corner of a garden)
Lol I even said this was alot of land for the price on last video u should put a gate out front. The old style that has tile on wall... That would be great
So happy you finally found a place! But goodness, I can't imagine what you have in store for it XD Are the different sections going to stay separate or will you build walkways and have your own Japanese castle?
It was so HARD NOT to click the buttons right when they appeared! I wanted to watch the whole thing through, THEN push the buttons AFTER the video. It was hard, but I got through it! Amazing video, and amazing house. It's really big and beautiful, I think you guys hit jackpot with this one!
I just watched your entire "buying a house in Japan" playlist back to back instead of sleeping. I really loved these videos, it makes me want to move to Japan. Congratulations on the house and thanks for all the videos and the time you spend editing and uploading them
WOW, Very very very nice find for you two. Once you have it cleaned out you will have a nice large home. I hope you find the old guys emergency wad of money !
Congrats to the awesome place. With some renovations, you can almost build yourself a nice Japanese castle there. Such a big lot seems quite unusual for Japan. Enjoy the renovations :D. Thanks for the video.
But just out of curiousity, how do the local authorities assess the property taxes for the spot. Income tax rules are sort of easy to come buy, but a video about property taxes & taxes on rental income would be awesome :D.
Sir, I love ALL the videos you put together on this channel, but this has gotta be the most interesting and best video you've ever made along with the interactive stuff!! Brilliant and clever! and Congratulations on getting this house! I'm hoping to see more of this house sometime soon here on your channel.
@rebitar12 I called him (TheJapanChannelDcom/TheSillyOldDude) 'sir' because that is a form of respect to someone older or a teacher, anything like that. It's a matter of 'discipline'. Gee, do they even teach you young kids manners at school or at home? XD
I can't wait to see the transformation! If you want to get rid of any of the sake cups, let me know. I'd be more than happy to take 'em off your hands! lol Now is when you turn to your friends and say "Let's renovate!" lol
Congratulations on the purchase, and I love the work you put into the video, I expected to have to find my place after navigating to a new video but it's great how it sends you right back where you left off, thanks for that
Congrats. Looks like you have a whole lot of work to do. Looks like your eaves need work and probably the roof on that one building. Nice of you to show us so much.
Really, a superb video! Thank you so much for sharing this in the way that you did. Really interesting! Also, congratulations!
I'm guessing that you'll soon become an ebay aficionado! I'm sure a bunch of us would love a chance to bid on some of the stuff you found! *hint hint*
This was such an interesting video. the whole situation with the old guy seems like such a mystery. strange that he had so much unopened, new stuff and the family took none of it, including all those old photos.
I feel silly for saying this, but I wish I could help you clean that place up. I'm a very strange guy but I like to clean. Seeing that place makes me want to hop on a plane and help you out man! I totally would too.
This tour was amazing I cant wait to see the finished home ! you found some good stuff .. Many blessings on your new home. I think its so adorable !! I would guess he owned a shop some where.

Gratz, on you getting the house... ^v^'!!!x3

@rebitar12 I called him (TheJapanChannelDcom/TheSillyOldDude) 'sir' because that is a form of respect to someone older or a teacher, anything like that. It's a matter of 'discipline'. Gee, do they even teach you young kids manners at school or at home? XD
