Mine does the exact same thing! Like, down to how long each level of annoyingness is! We placed flat on the carpet and it still sounds the same, so we're going to send it in soon.

it happened to me before :O my cousin knocked down my wii and the shuts down after 10 mins in brawl... so i sent it to nintendo. it's the vent that makes the noise.
Sounds like a weedwacker or a leaf blower than a lawn mower.

mine stays loud through the whole time I'm playin it, and if it gets not as loud, we know its gonna say an error occured lol, doesnt bother me tho
