  • hormones really affects humans on how they think, behave and react. No wonder oldies tend to be KILL JOY most of the time.So let's enjoy life while we are still young.

  • fucking old people!!!

  • I am maybe the only really telepathic person in the world. You should not think that I could be Schizophrenic.

I can exchange voice, video, smell, people can move small move muscles on my body from distance and much more, I am interesting in to take part in research on telepathy.

  • I'm going to hate getting old!

  • @killerboyfoolz You're getting old all of the time and old age comes quicker than you expect it to !

  • old people should smoke meth.

  • life get a little boring when you older..LOL

  • the outro was remarkable lol.

  • Yeh, Wanking doesn't feel as good as it used to.

  • @cobolt13

    hahaha

  • bull. tell that to my grandma who goes to the casino to try to win money all the god damn time haha

  • The bee -reference makes the hint.

  • does this mean old people do not like to get exicted. answer i think so. maby older folks dont like to piss their pants. that would be weird if they engaged in activities that latter made them stink like a piss pot. i know young people that piss alittle when overly exicited. LOL

  • @datzfast its not that they dont like it its that they cant handle it anymore ...old people do have pleasure though just not like doing bad ass stuff but they are happy ...my grandfather is 98 and he goes for a hike every morining and he says nature makes him happy and bieng with his family

  • what does this mean in laymans terms?

  • hmm sounds like gladas from portal =)

  • fox at 0:46

  • fox at 0:46

  • That women at 1:21 does not look like she's staying active, she looks like she's trying to throw her back out.

  • That sucks!

  • he sounds like a toolbag

  • I think I was born without pleasure centers in my brain.

  • that old lady bowls like a bitch

  • Of course pleasure gets old. You only need to understand one word which proves this to be 100% true:

    Tolerance.

  • The issue with the experiment shown in this clip is that money is unreliable as a motivator, and thus cannot be used to definitively prove anything in an experiment such as this. A version of the experiment which offers the subjects the kinds of things they actually want (as individuals) would yield more useful results, as each 'reward' would be tailored to the desires of each individual, and would in theory not suffer sample pollution in the form of differing generational perceptions of money.

  • I guess they seem to push the idea that money is a motivator in this society. Do you think that people really know what they want. I personally have been experiencing serious difficulty with this question. I'm not sure I know what I want beyond living simply; and barring certain challenges has been fairly easily achieved thus far.

  • @AmyS77 Or have people get high as a fucking kite so dopamine is pumped out and everyone is forced to feel pleasure. Or crack heads and just put some crack just out of reach and then place the crack closer.

  • @AmyS77 of course and in simple words the exitment of old ppl will depend on what motivates them.

  • @ackroh Yes, and the same is true for young people. I don't consider myself particularly old or particularly young, but I am not all that motivated by riches now, nor have I been at any other time in my life. I don't view money negatively, but someone offering me a handful of dollars might trigger a negative attitude I may have towards people who believe they can buy friendship, thus producing an apparently 'reversed' response to an externally-defined 'pleasure' stimulus. It's simple psychology.

  • @AmyS77

That's true... If they handed me money I'd take it but it's not a big deal to me. On the other hand if they offered me a puppy I'd be a lot happier :P I love animals a lot more than I care about money.

  • @AmyS77 yes very good point

  • Video games vary more than movies. Does watching movies ever get old?

  • ANSWER: Video games are da bomb.

    lol

No, but really, I'm 22, and I find that as video games get more advanced, I get more addicted.

One day, I'll be a vegetable, having fun with games in my brain.

  • Addiction and pleasure are two different things. When you hit 80 it's possible that you might not take pleasure in the things you did as a young man but you would not give up smoking, for example. If you truly have an addiction to video-games I wouldn't worry about it. Everybody takes pleasure in different things so it's wrong to say they are immature because of it. "Act your own age" is stupid, because most adults are much more ridiculous then children, less curious and their brain gets numb

  • Disturbthedead@"When you hit 80"

So who here had their thoughts go to WoW?

    Lol.

  • Hi Misty im 24 and remember playing video games with my DAD back in the 80s when he was 29 and i was like 5 and the funny thing is we still do to this day hes almost 50 so Yes some adults just like to have fun in life stay young at heart and do what makes them happy.

  • But 50 isn't exactly old, is it

  • "healthy, young and old people" didn't make sense.

  • lol, they are just comparing healty young people and healty old people's brain response ^^. You understand it now?

  • What about the different variables such as things that people eat or drugs that people may or may not have taken...When we are children younger then 10 most of the time we don't really take drugs on the regular. But when you are older you may not have had a healthy diet growing up or may have taken drugs not so much illegal drugs just any type of chemical to make those levels in our brain deplete. On all of those things put together as well what about the way people differ as in ethnicity? IDK.

  • Stress changes people. Doing things can make them feel normal. If doing such causes more stress then you have a vicious cycle.

  • Reward activity Bahahahah!

  • Soo.... if you're immature, you just produce more dopamine? So if your have ADHD, that's good, right?

  • No just means your brain can't regulate it as well. Slower thoughts and a calm attitude means the receptors can hold on to dopamine longer before recycling it back through the transmitters

  • ...So it IS good. The receptors dont old on to dopamine as long with ADHD. And by what you said, common sense says that means quicker thoughts.

  • THIS VIDEO IS BORING 1 STAR

  • get a brain retard

  • No, you are

  • so by using quotes around the word god you are implying he doesn't exist? quite a contradiction (unless you're being sarcastic....)

  • 'GOD' exists as a concept invented by man, for sure.

  • You win at life.

  • set me free i killed a man!

    bullshit.

  • "its retarded to say i believe in God in one of these video's its useless because they only listen to science nothing else science guys are dumbasses"

    Grade A+ Moron.

  • So, the anhedonic behavior promoted by most religion is actually counterproductive and detrimental. Tell me something I didn't know.

  • @sockpuppetsfromhell ...not only religion... supernatural things also

  • @sockpuppetsfromhell your wrong ....what you are trying to prove is that religions are false or non existant and while i cant prove that wrong or right i can tell you this ...what your trying to say is that people are brainwashed into religion and you think religion is a total non sense ...but what you dont realize is in most religions people arent belivers cuz they were brainwashed they belive because they want to belive ...so what your saying makes no sense other than you bashing on religion

  • If scientists are using their interpretation of brain data to make these claims, it still dosen't seem to solve the problem of how can emotion be mathematically/ statistically assessed, also people varying greatly in their emotional sensitivity, so there's no level playing field in which to make an analysis. Its just like the problem in education, where some think you can measure all learning.

  • U should know. Wanker!

  • Very informative.

  • I've found, now I'm 44, you don't get so hyped up about things, but you also don't get bored either. Christianity helps in my case though. Puts a whole different attitude on things when you know the clock is ticking but it's never going to stop! + :)

  • religion is for the enslaved.

  • Christianity is for we who know we are enslaved by sin. God can set us free! It works.

  • its called mental captivity. its what religion does with your brain. fill you with a bunch of words that have no meaning. for instance, there is no creator. if there is, we are too small of matter in the universe for the creator to care. religion was created to control the public masses and has been adopted today by many political strategies to gain votes. its a matter of control. ^^ ultimate freedom is when to choose your own death and not being judged about it... leagalize the ganja planta.

  • You speak of control, like it's bad! You mean like athletes? Their life is inhibited so they will do well in sports. Anyone must be controlled (inhibited) to do well in anything. Self control is what I'm talking about though. Not external artificial control like in a tyranny. Self control that comes as a result of truth, not tradition. It comes from the creator. That's true happiness. Not stimulation. Jesus cares a lot. For me and you. When I die, I'll live forever. Better than the ganja planta!

  • So called 'ultimate freedom' to do anything anytime is the biggest dissappointment of all. Try it. Or ask someone who has. There's no happiness to be had that way. Just exceitement followed by bitter realization of unfullfillment. You get what you wanted and it turns to a 0. Because you aren't free. You are a slave to your own emotions and lusts. Total boredom is the end of that way of life. No thanks. It's a route well travelled and I'm not going to be had by that scam!

  • sure, you are correct depending on what the motivation is. i can only speak for myself when it comes to my motivation. not everyone seeks 'ultimate freedom'. point is, with your argument and my argument. we will allways be enslaved however we look at it. emotions or life guiding rules. we can never be free. if control is good or bad, it depends like i said on the motivation you have. continued--

  • continue-- but, since mankind is part of animal kingdom and is considered a life form. the only purpose we have is to grow. life forms like animals, trees, ganja plants, bacteria, weeds in your garden. its all about growing. if the human animal lives or dies is insignificant. we can be extinct and universe wont change. we have no significance to the role of the universe as its infinite. a drop in the ocean sorta speak. the human animal is primitive and kills its surroundings. self-centered.

  • continued nr2-- but sure, im no expert on emotions, just pretty skillz at seeing my surroundings. its all about evolution when it comes to existing. we live and then we die. happy and/or unhappy. thats most peoples motivation really. happiness. and its nice too ^^

  • We are self centred. Some people are evil and others are nice. All of us self centred. But with God out there, it's not all about us. It's about what a marvellous God is like. We can know God, and life is totally different once God is factored in. I'm not talking about trying to bend over backwards to be good enough for God. We don't have a chance. It's about how God is what it's all about! He is generous. The injustices now have a reason, but they will be made right. Why not hope in God?

  • why not hope in god you ask. well, i dont believe in god, i dont believe that we were created, i believe in evolution. i dont believe in afterlife, i believe in now. pure existance. i dont believe in something giving us strenght. its all body-made chemicals in your brain, emotions, feelings etc. like that one time when i tryed an exstacy pill and i instantly felt a big increase of happiness. it was awesome. the big increase were from lab-made chemicals added to my body. you see my point?

  • I see your point.

I don't believe in the sufficiency of evolution to generate life. I'm a creationist of course. Even despite the dover trial - ha ha. But I think you should reconsider your viewpoint.

God created emotions as a chemically mediated experience. But look to the source of the planning behind all of that chemistry.

Indeed, fuel makes a car go. But fuel alone, without an industrial infrastructure, engineers and car manufacturers... There'd be nothing to put the fuel in!

  • alright, how do you explain mould on expired food? is it god that creats that aswell? mould is a life form, cuz it grows.

  • Sure. God created mould. Mould is alive, and I guess it likes expired food. After the food expires it has time to either land on the food and start growing, or it was there in the first place and has time enough to grow.

But the thing is, does mould get bored easily? We don't know for sure, but I would say, positively, with no fear of scientific conytradiction: No. Mould does not get bored! And that's what I like about mould.

  • mould being bored like having no fun you mean? im pretty sure that mould has no feelings. it just have its "dna" to grow. its not a fact, just my own thought/opinion. but, its not the moulds desicion to grow. just like when you were a baby. you didnt chose to be born, but now your choosing to live.. anyways, mould just grows in the right sercumstances just like all other life forms. i dont know where it comes from. i think its created after the expiration tho, i dont think its tere all the time.

  • Oh yes, that's true. I was just joking around. But you know, mould in it's own way is kind of nice. Looking at it, it has that nice intricate web pattern, and it is so fine, like tiny tiny plants. Anyway, I like it. If the food is cooked right, its normally not there. I think sometimes it gets in later on or is contaminated. I know it takes a while to grow. Sometimes you are eating mould, but well before much of it is there.

  • till the day ur dick go down hill save it a bit man lol

  • Doesn't take much to become a "featured video" here it seems... yawn

  • :46 I could get a LOT of pleasuer out of that chicky. HOT!

  • dopamine is our best friend. hah hah.

Too much of anything does get old thus less rewarding

  • dude, get a life and second..if u do it everyday then itll get old faster...stoopid

  • seems like common sense to me... did we really need a team of researchers to tell us this?

  • well people with no decent qualifications need to earn money somehow...

  • ...people with no decent qualifications telling us things we already know.

    now thats progress.

  • This was intresting...

  • I fear something is going to go wrong with my penis.

  • well isn't this depressing... so we tell people how to lose weight, but when they finally do - they can't enjoy it?

  • I guess John Mellencamp was right, " life goes on long after the thrill of livin' has gone" that is if we don't die prematurely

  • oooh ja bruno, you tell em ooh. mmm ja, jaaa.

  • oh great. these replies landed outside the comments they were intended for.

    i hate my life.

  • How can you scientifically measure the subjective?

  • Well it this studies findings are correct, how come I know loads of old people i.e. 65 plus who still enjoy life to the full. This is the whole problem with social sciences, applying the scientific method to the human condition, the whole discipline is confronted with so many problems,I suggest reading C.P Snow.

  • ofcourse pleasure gets old.

old people know that all is useless and empty.

young people dont...but they will...give them time :)

  • I love when blondes take it in the mouth.

  • I think that, rather than being a function of age, lack of appreciation for pleasure comes more from many subconcious manisfestations of UNpleasure. Most "old" people have a number of pains and aches they never get rid of, so the brain eventually starts ignoring them. But subconciously, it's still there. For example that lady bowling probably suffers horrible neck & back pain, because here posture is so poor. Now it looks like her spine is permanently damaged, so it's too late.

  • lol!! 2 whom this may concern if ur watching this and u think its real and truthfull i feel rele bad for u b cause u probably are a 40 year old vrgin or 2 old 2 get it up any more i mean come DOES PLEASE RELE GET OLD?? NO!! anif u think it does then u seriously need 2 go check 2 see if those pleaserable parts have run away b cause i personally idc how il i get will nvr ever for get what pleaser feels like ty and have a nice day ps ur all assholes

  • It really wouldn't have hurt if you tried to spell.

  • Hey, they got these things called 'schools' or somethin' now, innit? And you can go to em and when you come out - hey presto! - you can sms peepl and rite fings ona indernet n da peeplz thaiy cen unnersdan ur ritin.

    It's really quite pleaserable.

  • Wow.

    Are you mentally retarded?

No, seriously, I bet you I could get my dog to write a more coherent comment.

  • I reward myself with DOPE...ya!

  • LMFAOOOOOOO!!! AGREED!

  • ganja planta legalize ^^

  • Moral of the story is, have fun while you're young because when you get old life just isn't the same. So no sense working hard for retirement because your brain won't be happy anymore.

  • your hair turns white too if u take too much pressure

  • wow. wth!? are u serious? DA inversely proportionate to happiness with aging?

thats crazy! so u mean that the EPSP recetpors die and there are more IPSP receptors?

the short blurp talked about a cahnge in position of hte area.

doesnt taht stay as the ventral tegementum?

i forgot hte ohter area. one ofr movement and one for pleasure both activated by DA.

anyway! any other research to back tis up?

but they didnt give a reason as to why the inverse relationahsiP!

  • That's what I was saying.

I was saying that brunoisgay2's comment didn't make any sense and that just by switching the words 'old' and 'young', he would be able to see that himself.

YouTube separated my comment from his, so my point was obscured.

  • amen :)

  • I'm neither young, nor old. I'm pro-respect. View all comments and you'll get it.

    Never assume.

  • you guys obviously didn't get the message in the video. It says that old people get a kick out of life probably similar to young people cause older people need less dopamine to have fun. Just stay active which is hard for you couch potatoes out there.

  • Do you respect young people?

  • I think she bowled a gutterball.

  • That lady at the end is only 23 years old..obviously attending too many metallica concerts :|

  • haha great

  • well my grandpa was very active in body and mind and now hes got alzheimer and with severe dementia I am doctor as well but when I read about such a thing I just think yeah right... so basically theres a genetic component more related to it than just the fact of not being too active during your life Ive seen the same in a lot of patients just fake hopes for the younger ones so they'll stay active xD

  • lol

  • Just purchase any drugs that stimulate the central nervous system and your brain will give your D receptors an immense dose for free...

So in other words it'l cost you at least a gram of cocaine.

An ounce if you want to go for hours...

  • Yeah but an agonist severly fucks you up because your body won't produce it's own dopamine then.

  • Well hey, Im only suggesting it...

Not saying it's the best way to increase dopamine levels....

Also I thought that while taking super strong stimulants like Cocaine or Methamphetamine over long periods of time would indeed lower natural dopamine levels to very unhealthy amounts, I never thought it would completly deplete them and stop all dopamine produce...

Like Im just wondering, is that possible without death...

If not it would make a very unpredictable depressed individual....

  • sorry I didn't mean the complete cease in production. I just spoke without being clear I tend to do that a lot.

  • What's old to you as I want you to mark that date on your calendar. So that when you reach that age you put a bullet through your brain.

You'll give yourself an great dealt of pleasure and your brain will be flooded with dopamine. You'll be very hapyp and so will I.

  • You dope. You shouldn't call old people sick. You're going to be one yourself someday. o.o

  • Probably not, I don't think synthetic dopamine penetrates the blood-brain barrier.

One of the quickest ways to increase the dopamine in the brain is lighting a ciggarette. One of the strongest ways is injecting cocaine. And the most healthy way is having fun...

  • lol why doesnt ldopa cross bbb? then how u suppose ppl with parkinson take ldopa to reduce symtomps?

    silly kid=)

  • Not that familliar with parkinson. But most of that kind of medicines are dopamine agonists or medicine that bind to the dopamine receptors, not the pure form.

  • your absolutely right, it doesn't cross the blood brain barrier....

    Not sure why though????

Its a shame really, Im sure it could be a very fun recreational drug if it could...

    Probably very dangerous too....

  • Incredible.

  • That's Kewl Great Video I enjoy watching these videos!!!! 5 stars and I favorited it!!!!
