haha, sometimes I feel like I've watched every single Placebo video in this website XD Stipe is Frances' godfather, he was one of Kurt's best friends, they even had plans to work together just before Kurt died. He always said how much he admired R.E.M. When Kurt died, Courtney gave them Kurt's guitar, a jag stang (combination of a jaguar and a mustang) and they used it in the video for "What's the frequency Kenneth?" and the recording of "Let me in" which was written about Kurt.
