These headphones = epic sound quality, yet expensive. Still worth it though, high quality too, I have dropped it a few times and it didnt break (well the swivel broke but it was not because it fell, it was a different reason)

these are authentic, you can clearly see the earpices, and the all important "ce" or "stamped/molded" "thailand" on the inside of the headband, but yes, now they do have new sealed hard molded packaging and of course the unmatched quality... helps keep china on their toes... lol

Anything in a black & green box is basically fake. The real ones are in a transparent plastic box with a white coloured pouch. Also, if the audio jack adaptor snaps on instead of screw-in then it's also the indication of fake ones.

About 99% of MDR-V700DJ's on Ebay are fake so I'm pretty sure you are looking at them.

The Sony's I bought in 1995 came in that see through packaging.

But my new Sony £26.99 from China via Ebay came in green and black box.

BUT! the adaptor screws on. And the deffo feel and look like rock solid original Sony's. LOL i also got the white pouch.

They must be old stock or summit.

You're right. 50% of the SONY stuff you buy from China is bootleg. If you compare it to the stuff you get from Japan, its WAY worse.

The ones he's showing is bootleg. I can spot it from a mile away. Just look at the seams on the plastic. Also, the sponge on the headphone is a lot worse than the real ones. Finally, the 'SONY' is printed on afterward. Its not hard to tell at all.

I just bought the sony MDR-V700DJ, and I use them in a m-audio fast track pro audio interface, but the bass i very low and the music seems very powerless. when listen to the monitors the music is full of bass and very powerful. can someone help me. thanks

The problem with V700's is that their bass (in my opinion) is a little too heavy, well actually bass is strong as opposed to too heavy.
