My cousin says that if I'm not a calvanist I am not saved and cannot be saved. He claims that I believe in salvation by works. Wouldn't believing a certain doctrine be considered a work? In the early days Jesus and his followers were called a sect. The word "cult" was probably not yet known at that time. Otherwise they would have used it. From the jewish viewpoint Jesus was a "cult leader", measured by the statements in this video. They called him even worse names. But the funny thing is that God was working just through that person! God is great!

Let us post actually definition's of a cult and not personal opinion:
1. A particular system of religious worship, esp. with reference to its rites and ceremonies.
2. A group or sect bound together by veneration of the same thing, person, ideal, etc.
3.Sociology. a group having a sacred ideology and a set of rites centering around their sacred symbols.
From these definitions it appears the finger of scorn to Mormons also applies to Protestants. So be careful how you judge.

Not if Protestantism is really a reform back to the position that the church initially held. If that's so then Roman Catholicism fits the profile of a cult. It has a sole leader, teaches aberrant from the Bible, and a hold on sola ecclesia instead of sola scriptura. So your argument really depends on the premise being true, which it is not, so the rest fails.

The point I want to make is that it is God's business if people worship Him properly not man's business. It is man's responsibility to find truth it is God's responsibility to offer the truth. I think Paul is from the same race as all humankind. That is the race that is the image (likeness) of God. I haven't found anytime where Paul chastises the Romans for worshiping false gods.

In Acts 17 he was preaching to Jews. I wrote Romans. The point is, only the Hebrew people are chastised in the New Testament. besides, Acts 17 is a great scripture since it shows what it is like present the truth to people unwilling to listen. There are several things he mentions in that passage that I know Evangelists/Born Again's simply don't believe.

He wrote other places in Scripture regarding idolatry and false gods. You don't need a social classification for "believer" or "unbeliever". In other words, he wouldn't tell the Jews, "Hey, guys... praise false gods!" and in another say, "Don't be idolaters" unless he's a hypocrite, and what's interesting is the only ones who would ever consider Paul post conversion being a hypocrite are unbelievers of which believers have no agreement with.
