I can understand that, now worries. This amp wants to overdrive. You can get some nice clean settings at lower volumes, but it is definitely not a fender-clean sounding amp.
You're very good. Tell me, can I chicken' pick with a pluck only or do I use finger pluck combined with a normal plastic-pluck? What's the most common?
I use my fingers with a thumb pick or flat pick. James Burton for example uses a finger pick on his index finger and thumb pick. Mason uses a thumb pick with his fingers. As Brent Mason has told me many times in a debate on how to play things, play it however it feels natural or comfortable. the minute you try to look for the best way, you'll never find it. make it sound correct but play it how it feels comfortable.
It does clean as long as the band you are with doesn't play terribly loud. This amp wants to growl always. You may want something a little cleaner than this one.
I'm watching all your videos, and really am inspired by your great playing and the wonderful tone of the route 66 amp. I now think I'll save up and get myself one of these babies!
haha wow great pickin!! id like to see more!!! i wish this vid was longer!!

Nice tone--the "ice pick" tome we tele players experience is gone using the Route 66!
That can be a " good thing!?"
BTW--great playing too!
