Hey everybody! I have released my new album 'Progenitor' which has electronic music inspired by great games such as Mass Effect. You can check it out and download it for free on my youtube channel if you're interested!
If I help Sovereign find The Conduit, It'll keep him on the Wii for a few hours while I evacuate nearby worlds. In doing so, I will save more Gamers than have ever existed.
"Saren...that asshole. Makes me want to punch a turian baby. Oh, well, not that I would. Even still, he prostitutes himself to a machine! I have ocular implants and a greybox for starters, but I am still so much more man than machine. Machines work for ME and not the other way around." --Agent W Shepard's musing
I was actually thinking that they would make it so that if you didnt have saved games to start with or didnt play ME1. that for those people shepard would be dead and they would start a whole new character but i'm sure that would be waaaay to much work for them. its more likely that shepard is believed to be dead but is actually alive.
Shepard is alive. What that teaser was is a preview of ONE ending for the game. Yes the game is going to have more than one ending, in one of which you will die.
Yeah Shepard is definately alive, it's probs just a kickstart to the continuation of the storyline, faking Shepards death so he/she can infiltrate something or other. I think the Batarians are going to be involved somehow with the reapers, much like the Geth were. Didn't it mention on the galaxy map the Batarians found a huge organic ship?
Yeah they did, but it wasn't a Reaper. Reapers are 100% machine and don't care for organic life at all. What the Batarians found was something else. Maybe there will be more about that in ME 2.
Possibly, we'll see if anything comes of that little tidbit. Personally, I'd like to see it be revealed as a new life form that exists somewhere in the ME universe.
player in the first game will continue to have influences on their character in the sequel. Players who have not played the first Mass Effect will start a new character in Mass Effect 2, and will be brought up to speed on the story elements that have taken place thus far in the series.[ It is highly recommended, however, that people play the first game before playing the sequel. Hudson also states that characters from the previous game will return, provided that they were not killed
@KayneArcheron Yeah. I prefer the story to both of those because of its Lovecraftian elements. Plus it has loads more time to develop than Star Wars. Star Trek never interested me much.
@aryonas The inventory system just felt like it was still in it's testing stages, the squad AI wasn't much to really praise as I found Wrex and Tali would often shoot my Infiltrator Shepard in the back during the missions where the pistol was ideal over the sniper rifle. The characters? Aside from Shepard, it's the typical BioWare recycled archetypes that you can see in really any BioWare game. There are other complaints, but those are the most glaring issues I have with the game itself.
@GENOCIDE2099 You'd have to play older BioWare/Black Isle titles to get what I'm saying. Korgan Bloodaxe, from BG2 is much like Urdnot Wrex, and The Black Whirlwind from Jade Empire is again, much like Wrex. Then you've got HK-47 who is well, superior to all BioWare blood-thirsty killer party members.
Now, Mass Effect's characters are recycled BioWare archetypes, but they're improved versions with their own personalities that aren't so set in stone. IE, Kaiden isn't really like Carth, VA aside.
@GENOCIDE2099 Jade Empire has a good story, but the combat is really difficult, you could consider it an alpha version and thus frustrating type of Batman: Arkham Asylum's combat. KOTOR is much like an improved NWN in the star wars universe, but it's best to focus on a combat build due to the final area. BG2 is a vastly superior version of BG, as it's an improved sequel. The pacing is wonderful for the games, the dialogue is funny if you love BioWare characters, and the stories are memorable.
I don't nowadays, but Chrono Trigger and Final Fantasy VI were pretty amazing back in the day. the only JRPG in the past 2 years I've been all that impressed with was Lost Odyssey.
@Wintd1 It is an american company, but many of their head developers are Canadian. Even the voice talents of (both) Shepards were supplied by, you guessed it, Canadians.
@xaxi2007 well, explain how "Star Wars: The Old Republic" is being developed in TEXAS then!? Last time I cared to check, TEXAS was one of fifty states of America? You just got served, bitch.
@89Wrathchild Mcdonald, american and everywhere in the world...Bioware have multiple studios but it is still Canadian. Canadian company owned by 2 canadian...kthxbye have a nice day and sorry for my english im a frenchy. <3
@89Wrathchild Aye, Bioware is Canadian. That fact and having THE BEST story telling capabilities in the modern gaming world makes them 1-st on my list. I've played every game they made and was astonished by their imagination and creativity.
@HalfLord Congratulations. You are no doubt a sad person who actually gets pleasure pointing out others' shortcomings. Bioware is a Canadian company by ROOTS, but most games are developed in USA now! That's like saying that all Americans are Europeans!
@HalfLord In-Universe, that's null and void. The U.S. annexed both Canada and Mexico after the Second Civil War. (This American poster isn't happy about that idea though. I like my country the way it is.)
Agreed, the ending gives that bussing feel, that leaves you thinking 'Wow!'. Its the way everything is doomed, the Citadel is under attack and then you arrive in your Mako and then the Normandy arrives at the last minute to save to day while you take down Saren. This game is unbelievablely good!
The drums at the beginning are almost the same as in the Star Wars ep. 3 opening:
