I have a friend that was almost killed by a motorist that turned into a driveway and cut him off. She said she didn't even see or hear him. He had a 2003 Sportster with factory baffles. I would rather annoy a few people with my loud pipes than have them not see me and cut me off.
Nice bike, and I don't really care how loud or quiet it is. But you're kidding yourself if you think nobody can hear you with baffles in. When you're riding, the wind noise drowns the bike out at a certain point, but in a car, you can hear the bike with or without the baffles.
@crusherbmx Nothing against anything on two wheels myself but my old man, who`s 70 and an old triumph, norton rider from the 50s-60s always said the harleys had an engine that sounded like a bag of spanners.
Strangely, for an old school brit biker he also loves the honda fours that were out in the 70s too.Reckons they`re class motors. His owning a Honda 750F1 in 76 might have influenced him there though.
@CaptainTurkeyGiblets Honda fours were a big deal in the 70's....I've always loved the sound of a Triumph though. A Triumph says "Get out of my way, here I come!" A Harley says " Look at me, I have a Harley, I must be cool"
@crusherbmx Yeah, the 750 four he had in the 70`s is the reason i`m a biker today.I was 11 years old when he bought it and it was always a fight with my brothers on just who would get on the back for that long run on a sunny day.He sold it after about 18 months and the new owner crashed it and was killed within the first week of buying it.
I`m thinking of getting a triumph myself as a 2nd bike. Can`t make up my mind though on which to buy.Either the speed triple or a cruiser like the speedmaster.
@jdheatme Damn, you got me there. But it's the only way I can get it up for your Mom. Maybe your dad should remove his exhaust baffles too. Oh yeah, I forgot, you don't know who your dad is.
what kind of bars do you have on this? this bike is gorgeous. am in the process of converting my bonnie to a cafe and am thinking about the Norman Hyde M Bars.
Beautiful, fantastic job man!

Yeah, there are lots of gay things in this world, including people that try and make their dick harder by removing exhaust baffles.

Thanks for the great comments guys. This bike is a daily rider and kicks butt. Nothing like riding a machine that was built more than 40 years ago.
