I just saw this live with my best friend yesterday. This act took our breaths away. It was simply AMAZING. It was what finally made me decide to buy the DVD, though it's of course always better to see the real thing. (I spent most of the time thinking 'OMG they're gonna miss and faceplant to their death'). It was truly spectacular.

This was the 1st of at least 8 shows I have seen, very special to me, as my wife, who passed in 07', was able to see most of Cirques' shows. Amazing, andI I blame "Varekai" for starting my obsession for any and all shows I can go to. The last show that came thru so.cal. was "KOOZA"! Spectacular!

i was lucky enough to see Varekai in March- absolutly breath taking- recommend seeing cirque to any1!!!. you can't descibe the atmosphere until your actually there. :)

@NikkiSara13 were you in manchester? I was there too, you may have seen my daughter operating one of the follow spot lights. I have just watched the dvd of the show, as good as it is, not as good as being there. I was close to tears when I met her after the show, so proud..

I'm not surprised your proud- i'd be shouting it from the roof if my talented daughter was part of something so amazing as Cirque Du Soleil. I agree- the dvd may be good but you can't beat the real thing. How did she get into Cirque just out of interest?

@NikkiSara13 ty for your reply. She has a degree in theatre management, after working round the world on crusie ships, she started with Cirque a couple of years ago. With a different show, she toured Japan, China, Australia and New Zealand before joining Varekai last year in Mexico. Tho she operates the spot during the show, she is also one of the people who rigs the it all up. I would have had kittens if i'd seen her scrambling round all that scaffolding. :-)

although clearly the DVD is not the same as seing it live what i love about the DVD that you cant see from the audience is that on this you can clearly see their facial expressions, and their smiles, which show they truly love and enjoy what they are doing. Fantastic performance and show, wish i had enough money to watch it live again

Saw it last night at the Albert Hall. Its so much better than the impression given by this clip. Whole show is amazing - though the swings were great they werent the best bit for me. That was just before with the girl on the Trapeze/hoop or was it the juggler, or was it the icarian dance or...

It's something that you have to have a REAL passion to do because reality speaking, it's very demanding. Endless practice until it's perfection and then when it's perfection, they set a whole new level of perfection. It pays off though :)

Maxim plays the character of Kamikaze he does the flip at 5:58 yes he is still in cirque to this day same show same acts characters. All the russian acrobats are amazing Valentin, Romech Alexi from russian swings Anton who plays icarus (angel) there all top notch performers and only cirque can get em there that good :D

Maxim is in the russian swings. Can't point him out, but I met him in 2006 when he was dating a friend of mine in Houston TX. That's what he told me. With so much make up is hard to tell. He was with the Russian circus of Moskow and got hired by Soleil. I just wonder if he's still in Varekai. They let people come and go very easy. Top notch russian acrobats are everywhere. As incredibly good as he is there are many Russians as good as him.

I like this act, but I think Alegria Power Track & Russian Bars are the best acts in all of Cirque!!!!

I don't like the costumes of Alegria when compared with Quidam or Varekai. I really enjoyed the Quidam acrobatics one because they don't use any supplemental items like the power track, bars, or swings. The Valsapena song from the power track though is quite amazing.
