  • WHY THE FUCK DID THEY DO THAT?!

  • @PepperDr94 they did worse to our soldiers. they put them in work camps, starved them, beat them, tortured them, and worked them to death.

  • I don't care what anyone says. Damn nazis deserved every bullet.

  • He places himself on the same stage with the war criminals of the germans ! Not better than one of them he wears only another uniform ! !

  • can someone clarify this for me please? i couldve sworn that in the end he implied that he didnt actually shoot the POW's and just pretended that he did to make himself intimidating and badass so people wouldnt question his confidence or something like that. did i misinterpret this???

  • @Neivlak From what I understood, he never "Denied" shooting the pows because he liked the way other soldiers looked at him and were intimidated by him. So he never said he did, and he never said he didnt. that kinda thing.

  • @Neivlak I think he told Winters that he did.

  • The honor in the way men fought wars ended after ww1. How did we let that happen?

  • Killing POWs just for the fun of it. What a motherfucker. Going home, being a happy family father... gosh - how can a man be a monster the one day and a loving husband the other day?

  • @Heartoftheclock You really think he killed POWs just for the fun of it? I don't think they were ordered to take prisoners in the first 3 days of the invasion.

  • @berserker276

    its a warcrime you idiot.

when a soldier surrenders you ESPECIALLY THE FUCKING ALLIES take them prisoner..

there where exceptions (mostly mg gunners and snipers got shot on sight) but this is murder first place according the the geneva convention etc.

  • @arthuro13 Yea I know..

  • @Heartoftheclock

universal soldier will always suffer bro.

  • @Heartoftheclock Are you not familiar with the duality of man?

  • unbelievable...buth truth

  • I wonder what the outcome would have been,if the germans wasnt forced to fight a 2-front war?

I suppose all these`heroes` would have been slaughtered at the landings on D-day.

  • One of the most depressing parts of the series, hands-down.

  • If the Waffen SS got there hands on Speirs they would have done alot worst to him and his men then simply mowing them down with MP40's. They save that for Kikes.

They would have probably torn his fingernails off, shaved his tongue, and disemboweled him with there combat shovels.

Speirs Think's he's so badass dumping his Thompson on unarmed prisoners. Makes me glad for the 10 he killed the German's put down 100x more Polock's and others sorts.

  • @blizzy00 lol speirs raped those nazi faggets

  • @FIDsmoggydrizzle You are a massive racist fucking dumb ass. Go die in a fucking hole.

  • @blizzy00 You mean the SS death squads; not the German army pal, he had no right to do it, they were protected by the Geneva convention and he has comitted a war crime.

  • @TheSirRoberto The Waffen SS was not only a death squad division, they had multiple divisions of the SS. And also only 1/4 Soliders at that time even thought of the Geneva Convention.

Hell, even now the US goes around it via false flag terrorism. What a vicious cycle.

  • @blizzy00

Speirs is badass because he ran through through enemy fire (multiple times) with no regard for his safety.

  • Zigaretten?

  • what actor played the german soldier malarkey met and who played the soldier who stood in Disbelief while smoking cigarette in background as speirs killed prisoners

  • Actually artard, Speirs DID shoot those prisoners, in interviews from Winters and others, they ABSOLUTELY CONFIRM IT. And also a man who interviewed Speirs off the record whilst filming Band of Brothers had Speirs confess this fact himself.

  • @TheMra18 dont make up bull. and anyone who says atard is probably and atard themselves. spiers would have been punised for war crimes u idiot. he says later in the episdoe 'breaking point' that he didnt

  • @scids225 i have done a bit of research & in an interview with Winters he said that Spiers was such a great soldier compared to a lot of the other "kids" that were there, that the guys in charge overlooked what he did as they couldnt afford to lose him. Had it happened today then yes, he would have been charged for war crimes. Winters went on to say that he built his name as being a killer by killing 6 germans they had caught in order to establish himself as fearless which in actual fact he was!

  • Speirs never shot German prisoners, although he did shoot and kill an American sergeant who repeatedly kept disobeying orders and endangering his platoon and their mission by advancing into artillery fire. Tom Hanks decided that fact was too strong for the American public to take and still see him as a hero, so they vaguely included this prisoners scene. Notice you don't actually see it happen, that's because it didn't.

  • oh i get it... Speirs must have watched saving pvt ryan. he didn't want to make the mistake tom hanks did. hee...

  • wait... so malarkey did meet that guy from oregon but it happened somewhere else?

  • @EcoDimension Malarkey met the guy from Oregon but when he told the writers they thought it was too weak to just ad in like that so they added it to the legend of Ronald Spiers to make it more screen worthy!

  • Damn that american german guy is hot. And Speirs always scare the crap out of me in this series.

  • This never happened gents. I am a personal friend of Don's and they messed up the city and other information. It was Portland, OR. Done went to school at UoO in Eugene. Don didn't really see that happen, nor did it happen. It was another part of the series that was just Hollywood.

-From the Technical Adviser, Battle of Brecourt Manor Documentary.

  • Does anyone know who the actor is who plays the German POW from Oregon in this clip? Have googled it but comes up with nothing!

  • Wheres the part where they were at bastogne and there were three guys who was talking about Spiers offering the POWs cigarette before Mowing them down with a thompson. then suddenly spiers arrived and offered the three men cigarettes while they refused and shit their pants. I think that one was the best of spiers'.

  • The part where he almost shoots that drunk douchebag was spiers' best for me. Made him look half-not-bat-fuck-insane

  • was he ever convict on a criminal charge ? dont think so. just the "others" are war criminals. americans always are clean. HAHA

  • Nope. He was too valuable as a commander to ditch. And nobody of any authority actually knew it happened and it was all rumors.

  • i really want to know what happened

  • he killed the prisoners

  • Lt. Speirs never really confirm nor denied the fact that he did or did not killed the 20 - 30 prisoners.

It did help keep his men in line, they didn't disrespected him.

If he did, it would be consider War crimes and he would be court marshall.

He did shot one of his man for being drunk (wasn't court marshall, becuase they couldnt risk losing a well experience officer like speirs,)

the shooting saved the lives of many soldiers who were suppose to be lead into combat by that guy.

  • Figured that out all by your self? Nice.

  • he killed them all with his thompson in rage because his brother died in the italian campaign

  • @radicalaceshasbrin

That was Bill gaurnere (spelling!) i think speirs did it because germans bayonetted and shot paratroops hanging in their harnesses from trees..

  • @radicalaceshasbrin that was guarrnere's brother and i think he dd it because i read somewhere sink ordered it no prisoners to be took.plus major winters said he wouldnt put it past him to have done it and the shooting of the sergant was true.

  • his name is Speirs, not Spiers.

  • Dude, Lt. Spiers is so cool, I like him, this is how the real officer should be.

  • They never clarified wether or not speirs actually killed them

  • I feel bad for that POW from oregan.

  • but if this scene had been germans shooting american pows... i'm just saying (by the way spiers is scottish not american)

  • @warmadscot Yeah but he moved here when he was 4. I don't remember anything before 4, and I'm pretty sure he became an American citizen.

  • @warmadscot actually the wehrmacht didnt shoot prisoners. they where ppl to. the ss might have though and this never happend by the way

  • absolutely. Anyone gunning down Americans is Satan on Earth. Americans gunning down anyone but Americans is 'HEROIC!'

  • in your discription you worte PW when it's P.O.W, and also Speirs is the dephinition of Badass!!!!

  • SHIT! WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED?!!!

  • i dont think he killed em' i probably used it as a way to fear and gain respect from the men

  • man Speirs is like the MOST likely to find a career as a modern-day SEAL

    lol

  • I HAVE A THOMSON love it!!!

  • Does it sound just like that?

  • Good for you, have fun with the "thomson" maybe next time you could ger a real thompson.

  • the 101st airborne did gather prisoners. and when the germans counter attacked they tried to make a run for it. Spiers was on duty and gave order to fire. I would have done the same.

  • Really? Is that why those shots were fired here?

  • omg anyone who watches tv shows know what i am talking about.

RUFUS HUMPHREY VS DETECTIVE CHARLIE CREWS!

    omg LOL

  • speirs is just as bad an SS officer

  • Yes, Speirs looks kinda weird to me. He has been a good soldier but sometimes he acts strange

  • very sad scene but true...

  • Uh, no, not really. Never confirmed. Dick Winters himself said Ronald Spiers was a born killer. However, Spiers only suggested to Winters that he had actually killed the POWs. Spiers is dead now, so good luck trying to prove his actions.

  • Great. Now im gonna have to buy his book.

  • Lol

  • What is most tragic about this scene is that it is based of a real event. How another person can simply execute a dozen unarmed persons is beyond me. Although most volksdeutsche would be recognized as traitors, and therefore after a trail would most likely receive death by firing squad to see it done so callously and so casually is shocking.

  • How can a single man put thousands of innocent people in camps and starve them to death, burn them, beat them, shoot them, kill their familys. It goes both ways,

  • like a bi-sexual , im srry awesomesolo . u put up the dominos and had to drop them

  • i dont like this scene, its so bad..

  • Geneva Convention was before WW1.

  • awesome and sad scene.

  • LOL
