  • She cracked me up with the facial expressions

  • @blackrose081 when you do this what is it supposed to do

  • Omg she has beautiful hair what is she mixed with

  • You guys,look like twins

  • Thanks dor this video. I'm fourteen and can't wait to try it out. Your little girl is beautiful and so are you. I'm sorry about the rude comments about your house being dirty.

  • Ive never seen a house so dirty thats nasty

  • Her hair texture is almost just like mine!

  • the bathroom is dirty!!!

  • omg i have hair just like hers!!!!!! she didnt even need a ponytail lol it looked gorgeous when she just took it out

  • Wow you're a fast braider! Her hair looks so cute!

  • I love her hair

  • i saw your tamponds

  • Hi Blackrose081! I tried this method a few months back, not knowing it was an acutal method. It worked great, my hair is very, very similar to your daughters and in fact i thin she looks like a slightly younger version of me. (im 14) Anyways, i understood everything but i had one question. After her hair has been taken out of the braids the next morning, how do you brush her back so tightly and sleek without messing up the curl pattern . when i brush back the top of my head the curls frizz. Thx.

  • very similar to my hair mine is slightly thicker this is great thanks

  • alsoo...where did you get the spray bottle? :)

  • my hair is literally 3-4 times more thick than that...about the same curl pattern..i hate it.

  • Your daughter and I have very similar hair so thank you!

  • This is amazing! And don't worry about the bathroom... mine is WAAAAYY worse!

  • omg, i saw this video like a year ago and i've been looking for it a lot lately, so glad i found it!!!

  • she has nice hair

  • She is adorable!!!!

  • tihs is inresting im liken it

  • I do this with my hair but I use Aubrey Organics (island, white camellia) conditioners as a leave in. The herbal essences and Garnier fructise conditioners really aren't meant to stay in the hair. I recommend using a more natural conditioner if you are going to leave conditioner in the hair. You can still use the Garnier as a rinse out conditioner. Other then that...Great video....:-)

  • Hey im 11 years old and my hair is natrually curly like it has really really tight curls and i also braid it at night when it is washed or its curly.Yeah thats how my hair looks to after i washed it. Also my hair is long to once oyu flatiron it. Last but not least when my hair is curly it comes down to my shoulder to but im not biracal i got this kind of hair from my mom and dad

  • she is so cute and smart aww lol and im so glad yu taught her the correct way to take out her braids so she doesnt have breakage gd job!

  • Yes, Teri's method is great! I visited her site when I first started to wear my hair natural, but I thought it would never work onmy hair. Well, a few months ago, I bought her book & gave it a try. After spending so much money on gels & other products,(not saying those didn't work) this worked just as well for a fraction of the cost & took less time to apply. Plus, it held up in the weather! Your daughter is beautiful & its so nice 2 see she loves her hair! Great video!

  • I dont know Why but i like Her Hair Before.....O_O Its so Curlyy I wish i had curls. my hair straight

  • Shes Cutee :3 :DDD

  • Your daughter should be in commercials. She is so cute.

  • Now that's one cute little pumpkin. She looks like her pretty mother. Thanks for upping, I'll be trying this out.

  • wow! by teaching your daughter the proper way to take care of her hair, you've saved her from so many struggles young girl's go through with their hair. Knowing is half the battle.

  • she is sooo cute great video

  • you braid so fast! amazing! and your daughter is so cute and seems like a very smart girl

  • aww she is so so adorable and thanks for the video it helps a lot

  • Is your daughter mixed? She is reallly pretty btw

  • Precious & Priceless, I adore the way that you're spending quality time with your daughter while educating her on how to properly care for her hair....

  • This is nice but if you do this in the night and she goes to bed does she get like a head cold or something????

  • Your daughter has the same hair as mine! Aweeessssoooommmeeee

  • she is friggin adorable!!!!!!!!!

  • is that leave in conditioner or rinse out conditioner?

  • @babiixcrazii

    It's a rinse out conditioner.

  • @Blackrose081 so ur daughters hair is natural curly

  • Dang, you braid fast...

  • very beautiful! i LOVE that you have her wearing a stocking cap. i don't know why i stopped using one...LOL

  • awwwe ! :D

  • My youngest daughter hs crazy spanish curls..........somtimzs her hair luks like Medusa & ends up wth natural dred-locks. By the time she comes home frm schl her hair is so tangled it taks several hrs 2 comb it out. I even tried African Pride 4 girls cuz the lady @ the store said it wld relax it. But, it did the opposite it made it so curly I cld not even put my fingers in2 her hair. I also have tried leave-in conditioner before bedtime and she wakes up with lint and fuzz. any suggestions?

  • wow she looks a lot like her dad!!!!

  • @MissDtheoneandonly

    Yes, she does!

  • I am mixed too I looked a lot like your little girl when I was younger, except my hair is a lot straighter- my hair is barely wavy and is fine/silky.

  • awwwwwww she is so cuteeeeeeeeee

  • why not let her hair be until she gets to a age she wants it done and i remmber when i was 10 my mother would always bread me and my sisters hair and it was always bonding moment but i hated it but she like to do it it relaxed her so i let and i kind of miss those days but your daughter is very beatiful and i can see this is what many mothers like to do with there daughters but enjoy it while it last like we did =)

  • @Welcometomylife2441

Letting her hair "be" would be a disaster, curly hair needs a lot of care. I would rather her learn how to take care of it while she is young.

  • @Blackrose081 i totally agree =)

  • @Blackrose081 so agree. curly hair is too much to handle im blessed with it :(

  • @Blackrose081 so true. i didn't learn to care for my hair until i was 16! it was horrible. i couldn't do much to it. if i had a chance, i'd learn to do my hair young, rather then waiting until you're 16 jus like me lol. when you know how to do your hair, you can really try alot of stuff. like me for instance, i tried a braid out and it came out really well.

  • Aww shes so cute! :D

I was wondering if i could do the same :

detangle, put leave in conditioner and braide my hair

if i dont have the same kind of hair as ur daughter?

  • Oh wow! Your daughter and I have have the same exact hair; my hair is about the same length as hers when curly and the same as hers when its straightened (it's at the middle of my back). I'm gonna try this tonight and see how it goes!

  • Aw... i have a perm and junk so i cant do this ur duaghter beatiful she luks like u i see it.

  • Ur daughters so cute!!!!!!! Thx this helped me alot!!! My mom and me are diff. colors like that to iam dark and she's light thx again!! :)

  • TheAtisticBeauty it is but the ones that say u can leave them in is good :)

  • you and your daughter are beautful!!!

  • @ThemakeupbyTaylor

    Thank you!

  • lol, someone just said water isn't good for the hair. wow, had to laugh...smh.

  • your daughters beautiful!

  • i heard that leaving conditioner n the hair is bad for curly hair

  • aww she looks like my daughter grown up : ) ...( my daughter is 4 )

  • my daughters hair is like this.. when she was 12 her aunt put a perm in it which messed up her hair. it took years to grow the perm out and it has been 7years since she has had one. My daughters hair is beautiful curly, long and thick and we dont know what to do with it all. I was recently told to use Pantene conditioner for curly hair. She just turned 21 so we will see. but you are an inspiration

  • Awee isn't this cute hehe. I condition section and detangle my hair as well before bed. I'm just curious though because it gets annoying for me when I see young girls get so caught up in the minor details lol....but uhh...what was the need for the ending caption? The some what need to prove and validate to the viewers the length of her hair. Ehh, call me petty I guess I'm just curious lol....

  • @DaMeekz

I was starting to get comments about how come her hair is only to her shoulders ( kinda like "what makes her so special"). I just added that caption because people didn't realize that because her hair is so curly you don't see the length until it's straightened.

  • @Blackrose081 Oh how foolish if that's their direction within the quoted question. I hear you though. Your daughters beautiful though, I never feel the need to go the extra mile for simple minded people like that but when neccesary and I get a little bored...yeah, there I am lol. Much love though kudos.

  • @DaMeekz Man I say "though" a lot....sorry hehe.

  • Hi, I discover that '' water everyday is not good for your hair'' I have super long curly, natural hair and when I was a kid it was healthier .Last year my hair falls and I had to cut it on my shoulder and I realise that it was the water, gel, mouse etc.Now is growing up so fast incredible I put oil, grease(hairdresser or pommade) and I put ''Organics African Best'' to soft the front of my hair.I can see the difference yeahhh !

  • thanks doll..your daughter hair is so beautiful.

    i love her curls

do you have any tips for keeping your hair moisturized

my hair dries out really fast

  • @ieshalovesuF21

Yep I have quite a few videos on my hair regimen.

  • I didn't know your daughter was in Colored Girl Video! Nice she's adorable.

  • @52Ty52

    yes she was! Thank you!

  • @Blackrose081 Your welcome. :)

  • still can't find ppl with the same curly natural hair as me hers is kind of close but mine is just like hers but when you pull it it dosen't just extend it goes long but different just look at my videos and look at my hair (not the wig ones lol_)

  • cute video, ur daughter is a doll!

  • OMG im so jealous of ur daughter's hair its so beautiful and long!!!!! if i had her hair id be so grateful for having it i'd just deal with as many tangles as there is id just be happy to have hair like that

  • @072341234

Lol!! It took a long time for me to learn how to take care of her hair. I almost relaxed it! Believe me there are pro/cons to all hair types! I'm sure you have beautiful hair. Learn to love and take good care of what you have!

  • @Blackrose081 yeah right now during this summer my sister and i are going to look for ways to do my hair without starightening it(just got i starightened)

  • so when did you wash the conditioner out? i like your video keep making them with your daughter!

  • @janellle579

I don't wash it out, you don't have to. Some people are leery of putting conditioner in their hair and leaving it in. I just tell them to use a leave in instead.

  • you should tell us exactly what the motive is in the discription. i was searching for one thing but it took me here which i didnt really wanna be. but it helped i learned some things

  • @janellle579

I'll go in and edit the description.

  • so she has 3c hair right? what would u do for 4a?

  • @missbarbie2011

I've made quite a few videos on how I take care of my hair, which is definitely not 3c!

  • @Blackrose081 ok thanks il watch them

  • you are a nice mother and your daughter is beautifull =)

  • Lol , i still do that to my hair & im bout to be 15.

  • her hair is truly beautiful keep taking care be blessed!!!

  • if u keep takin care of her hair it will grow and grow and grow!!!just remember dont let anyone talk about her hair like its horrible cause their just jealous..BE BLESSED!!

  • I just got finish doing this to my 3 year old hair after not knowing how to define her curls that would get fizzy after 1 hour, so I just throw it into cornrows...this method is great now her hair has spirals in it, I just separate and twirl.

  • @1amayaj2

So glad that this works for your daughter!!

  • i thought it was really bad to leave conditioner in your hair... like it thins out the hair? or is that only for processed hair?

  • @hollowcheer04

I haven't had a problem with it, you can use a leave in conditioner if that is what you're most comfortable with.

  • Your daughter is ADORABLE. She is such a gorgeous girl :)))

  • U and ur daughter are soo beautifull !!! x

  • You are both really beautiful, I love the curliness of mixed race hair! My daughters are caucasian and I love to braid it or crimp it to make it thicker and give it some texture - just the opposite of what you are doing! I'm trying to learn to braid quickly like you did - will be replaying your vid to see what you did!

  • hey!

    that is great!

and don't worry about the bathroom it's about the hair, so if anyone talks or write's about it... It's their problem not yours haha!!

    Keep up the good work!

    xoxo

  • @carooltjuh85

    Thank you!!!

  • shes' so adorable lovas! And lovas the video! good job and thanks!

  • Well, your right you can't take credit for the damping technique. ;-)

My mom could only comb my damp because it's too dry. God bless from Angola.

  • where did you get that spray bottle from? i like the way it squirts, lol. i love your daughter's hair. gorgeous pic at the end too!

  • How did you come up with her name its so beautiful and different. I've never heard Jael before

  • @brycry2009 "jael" is in the bible. She was a great woman of God who lured an enemy into Her tent and while He was asleep, she took a tent spike a thrusted it into His temple. It's Jewish.

  • your bathroom is dirty! jk!

    i had to do it.

  • my mother wanted to keep me natural as a child but my aunt secretly put a relaxer in my hair at age 4 and from then on ive been getting them. im 19 now but i started my natural hair reg. in feb 09 and was natural for 1 year and my hair started to grow now i put a relaxer in over a month ago and now my hair fell out!! stay away from relaxers work with your real/natural hair and wear it proud ladies

  • she's soo cute,, i cant wait to have a daughter and keep here hair natural as well

  • I am black and my daughter is biracial with a white father...her hair is very similar to your daughter's...so this video was a great help to control frizz in the morning! Thanks.

  • yeah i think i saw u at i.g.a. with your younger daughter I think but im pretty sure it was u!but can u upload some more videos for 2010 now.i have permed hair nut i still like your tips.

  • @greatestgift99

    Really?? What is the i.g.a.????

  • you and your daughter are stunning!!!!! the picture at the end is sooo beautiful.

    <3 !!!!!

  • @juicycouturegrl101

Thank you so much!! I had to watch my video again, I didn't remember the pic at the end!

  • i love her parents!

  • Btw, Thank you for posting this. Im mixed (same way Black mother, White father yay!) and I never heard of this technique, So thanks!

  • Doesn't the conditioner have alcohol in it? or lauryl sulfate?

  • @razorbladekisses101

Yes it probably does. I have revamped my daughters regimen, I'll make an update video soon.

  • @Blackrose081 Oh ok, cool..And I didnt see your response video to this until now. oops.

  • you and your daughter are beautiful! thanks for sharing <3

  • @juicysyd18

    Thank you!!

  • I have been doing this technique on now my 1 year old son and my daughter and it is such a difference just in a couple of days! Thanks again.

  • @lshampto

I'm so glad that this is working for you!!

  • I would replace the stoking cap for a statain bonnet. fabrics like cotton and others are known to absorb the moisture out of hair. Just a suggestion...

  • @HateMillions

I bought a satin cap a few weeks ago. No more stockings here!

  • was it leave in conditioner?

  • @TheRandomGirlzz98

No it was not leave in conditioner. You can use whatever you think will work best for your hair.

  • Your little girl is so adorable! I wish my natural was that texture, but unfortunately it is not. If I add water, then my hair turns into a disaster zone.

  • @iwantorlando05

My hair is not the same texture as my daughters, but I'm loving it anyway! Embrace your hair. I made this video because I was having trouble with taking care of her hair, this method makes it easier. I'm sure you'll come to love your hair texture!

  • This is awesome! My daughter is not bi-racial, but she has the same grade of hair as your daughter and I have been killing myself trying different products for her hair! Thank you so much!

  • @lshampto

I hope that this works for you!!

  • I have never seen anyone braid like that b4

  • where did u bought the vatika?

  • @sunsilks

I bought it at my local Indian store. You can buy it on ebay as well as on Amazon.

  • go gurl u doin ur thang miss pro

  • so cute :)

  • How many nights in a row do you do this before you wash her hair again? I may need to do this for myself.

  • @akamizzT

Jael washes her hair at least twice a week.

  • @Blackrose081

    co wash or shampoo?

  • @akamizzT

Usually with shampoo, I need to get her back to co-washing.

  • @Blackrose081

Thank you. I may alternate with shampooing and co-washing during the week (or just one or the other). I'll just have to test a routine on my hair and see what works best. Thank you again! =)

  • i swear dats jux lik mi hair

  • i have a question..i dont kno wat products to use on my tightly curled hair when it gets wet do you have any recommendations on wat type of products i can use

  • @JuS0ApPeALING

I can tell you what I use as tightly curled girl, I use a moisturizer like, ORS Olive Oil Moisturizer or something similar to that and coconut oil, I spray my hair every night with water and then I add the moisturizer and coconut oil and that's what I use on my hair, which I keep braided up underneath my wigs.

  • Her hair is lovely. Great video.

  • @RedOctopus94

    Thank you so much!!

  • girl, dont you worry about your bathroom. its YOUR bathroom not any one elses.. my bathroom is messy too sometimes, and its mine.. lol keep doing what your doing!

  • @jmoniezgirl

    Thank you! You understand!!!

  • @Blackrose081 Trust me I understand.. I just end up with everything all over my sink that I use all the time, it make it easier to get to..lol. Question for you, how young did you start doing her hair like this? I have a daughter, almost 2, same hair issues for me.

  • @jmoniezgirl

Unfortunately, I didn't start this until she was about 7/8, I didn't know what to do with her hair before then! Start your daughter's hair early!!
