Look at the video again. It's a good lesson. First of all most people get into the habit of letting the nose get up too much on a shallow launch. This person, however, just the second he starts to move forward, drops the nose a bit too much..runs quite well with reasonable form but the ptich was not good through take off..then as he starts loosing the glider he lets the nose up a bit which in fact is what helped him pull away.
ya....one very lucky guy. all my gliders would not do that, and come back up again, with the hardware digging in. and, talk about lucky grass instead of rocks..and...
Wasn't me - never had a black helmet and my harness is mostly black with only some purple. My basebar has always been aerofoil and never had instruments on it. If it was filmed in 2004 my glider was that colour, but any time after 2/2006 it was red with a blue stripe. Someone else - not me :-) Pretty good recovery tho.

I agree with you flyhardt, he is very slow after take-off but I think, if I do a launch like that I will not fly very well after...

probably^^

look what he does after the "takeoff"..
he's pulling the glider into low speed, I think most viewers here know that this is dangerous.
especially in such a low height.
was it kinda shock reaction, like: "oh no, not too fast, my glider did overtake my once" or does this guy just doesn't have any control on his glider?
well, I can't tell from this short 46 seconds, but in this moment, he's a crazy one.
always remember: speed = safety (mostly)

...probably had a perfect landing on feet,
leading spectators to wonder where/how
all that dirt and grass on the harness
came from.
