  • "So funny when she messes up at the end! Two absolutely stellar live performers!"

  • Bruce didnt write this song, Tiny Tim did.

  • @benb4770 .+`

Tiny Tim was at Asbury June 25, 1969. Bruce met him late that afternoon prior to 'the' thunder storm behind the boardwalk. The rest is speaks for its-self.

  • One of my all time favourite songs... reminds me of never ending nights in the 60s in my car with a beautiful blonde girl <3

  • 34 people are angry 'cause they deaf...

  • So funny when she messes up at the end! Two absolutely stellar live performers!

  • @Airperra What does she mess up?

  • música linda.A voz dos dois casaram perfeitamente!O cara canta d+ !!!

  • great....simply great

  • It's a town full of losers,

but I'm pulling out of here to win.

  • Ok, I like bruce's music and love this song in particular. But why did he decided to sing as Bob Dylan? lol

Love this song and the two of them singing it together.

  • @lillouk77 yeh looks like @ about 0:59 he nodds her up to the mic and she jumps back in (you ain't a beauty but hey you're alright...)! funny. Hell, i'm in awe just watching on youtube!

  • @Donger68 Yep - that must've been it! Couldn't blame her at all - and it's something like that which makes the performance so much real and beautiful!

  • I am from Leavenworth, Kansas. I never cared for Melissa until this video. If I ever run into her around here, I will ask her how awesome it felt to be a participant in a classic.

  • <3

  • This is Classical Music for Modern Times.

  • amazing... :o)))

  • nothing in any other song compares to that first prechorus and chorus (''roll down the window and let the wind.." to "sit tight, take hold, thunder road"). the way it builds is and its pleading intensity, in most every version of thunder road from the boss, so intense, so good

  • FREAKIN AWESOME!!!

  • I Tought it was Melissa Horn :( ! I think everybody from sweden tought so ^^

  • jesus, she can sing with anybody and make them sound better. unbelievable.

  • Just listened to this video for the first time - and time stood still.

Perfect - no more needs to be said.

  • Of course this is Bruce's song and he does it the best. But I would love to hear Melissa do it on her own too. Her voice/passion is so fitting to Bruce's music.

  • @bjhennessey I agree 100%!!! There aren't many female rockers like Melissa who have that deep passion for the songs they sing.

  • Thanks Nathrillo.

I have been a fan of Bruce since the 60s and of Mellissa from the first time i heard her. simply a great duet and a fantastic version

  • Not my usual cup of tea clicked at whim, BUT God I love this song

  • I was a little apprehensive when I clicked on it, I never really listened to Melissa Etheridge so I wasn't sure how she'd sound singing one of my favorite songs with The Boss. I wasn't disappointed it's an excellent performance.

  • @maccermacnab Word!

  • @maccermacnab And it sure doesn't hurt when you've got such a great song, perhaps Bruce's best.

  • @TheRicky not quite as embarrassing as you.

  • Kippevel............

  • I got into Springsteen's music in my late teens and have been an avid fan since - I am now in my 50s!!! He's one of those artists that stand for the causes he believes in and isn't afraid to be political when it helps a cause.

  • Goose bumps. This entire performance gives me goose bumps. When it begins and the audience recognizes the song, when Bruce first sings, when they first sing together, when they sing, "what else can we do now cept roll down the window and let the wind blow back your hair," when they sing, "oh, thunder road, oh thunder road. When she sings, " I got this guitar and learned how to make it talk," when they song, "there were ghosts in eyes of all the boys you sent away." When...

    Goose bumps!!!!!

  • @Anna00555

If you wanna know how big a Boss fan Melissa is and how much it meant for her to play this song together with him, then you should read her story for American Icon. Gets tears in my eyes everytime I read it. Just Google melissa etheridge bruce springsteen and it will be the first hit

  • well u must have a protruded brain tumor then..good for u though u r not bitching

  • @FedorEight somebody's jealous of The Boss?

  • @FedorEight you're not funny or clever..just very sad. why would you search someone out that you don't like..only to be rude.for alot of women bruce is sex personified exactly because he is not a physical, cosmetic clone AND uses his heart and head to connect with everyone thru his songs.

  • @FedorEight You are a fucking musically ignorant fuck! I honestly think the world would be better off if you were put up against a firing squad!

  • @FedorEight you know you love the boss.

  • You can just tell how this song touched her soul as well - amazing. Brings that feeling right back as though I'm 15 years old again - like someone mentioned in search of "love and freedom"
