In the wake of such a turbulent year, the people we call neighbors pulled together in the most community-oriented manner you can imagine. We have so much to be grateful for. ALSO what they didn't show you is the amount of drug/alcohol addicts reno has running around, the amount of teens who drop out of high school, the enormous teen pregnancy rate, the prostitution, 75% of downtown is pretty "ghetto" as in don't walk around alone without pepper spray, AND nevada being #49 or 50 in education....The fact that people here take Reno getting made fun of so personal proves that everything they're getting made fun of is true
@ela6208 Actually, most of the negative demographics originate or are totally contained in clark county. If clark county were to become a seperate state, nevada's stats. would shoot up.
Reno's art "district" is only like 5 blocks, the buildings are old, dusty, straight out of an older time era(not in a good way), drunk driving is a huge problem along with depression(which everyone's in denial about), honestly as a long time resident I would not suggest anyone to raise a family here the schools are horrible neither college students it's not appealing at ALL to the younger generation....NO rude comments just being honest
Goodl luck with a job that pays more than 10 -12 bucks an hour.. Prices of homes have crashed but you can't get a loan. There are still bums all over the place downtown on the river walk area so bring a gun or a bat. What a load a bologna. Stay up at lake Tahoe or go to Vegas.
Excellent video. As a community we should be all be talking about what a great place Reno is to live, work and play. The Reno/Sparks Association of Realtors will be sharing this video with it's members and encouraging them to share it with their clients. Great job!
It's really funny that so many of the characters on "Reno 911" have southern accents, or that the civilian characters wear fringe trimmed leather and cowboy boots...only the tourists walk around like that in Reno OR Las Vegas...Come on over to Reno anytime...This is a great link to some of the best of Reno!!!
When I got off the train in 2007 as a new Reno Resident, the mountains took my breath away. (And that was in June!) The beauty of this place and the amount of stuff to do year round makes me glad to have moved here. People are friendly here and I have moved around o lot. I never want to leave Reno. I love it here.
