Technically, since Atheists are all for the destruction of religion, they represent spiritual regulation, in the same way that a ban on a dangerous drug would represent regulation of that drug.

As for moral anarchy, that's moral relativists, and an Atheist is not necessarily a moral relativist anymore than a Christian is.

I would like to add this to the comment I left below: Atheism could be part of a religion, but doesn't stand as a religion on its own. Example: The Nobel Laureate, Amartya Sen, is a Hindu Atheist. Hinduism has certain atheistic beliefs. It's a religion that is usually mistake to be a totally theistic religion. Other examples include: Buddhism.

Don't get me wrong, I'm don't have anything against you guys' beliefs, but Athiesm is a faith just like Christianity is - the only difference is what entity the faith is put in: You guys put your faith in Nature and Christians put their faith in Jesus and Moslims put their faith in Allah. Athiesm is a religion.

It's a religion in the same way Intelligent Design is a science, or as long as words don't mean anything. In order to classify something as a religion, you need to define religion. Religion :a specific fundamental set of beliefs and practices generally agreed upon by a number of persons or sects. Belief in Nature is called Pantheism, which Albert Einstein was a part of. Don't confuse yourself. We don't have prophets in Atheism; we have heroes. Thank you.

I've never understood why groups like Secular Students Association claim that Athiesm is based on logic and reasoning when it clearly isn't. Why do you guys make such claims? If Athiesm was so logical then that means it would be very easy to believe. Only 6% of the US population is Athiest, so it can't possibly be THAT easy to believe so therefore it ISN'T logical...

It's only easy to believe from a purely rational perspective. People are very emotional creatures, and atheism doesn't offer the emotion or spiritual comfort religion does. To be fair, there ways to be secualr was to be satisfied emotionally and spiritualy, but they aren't "attached" to atheism, so to speak.

Well, it's quite easy to believe if you've not been brought up from day one with religious indoctrination. My parents are both religious, but never pushed it on me as a child. As a result, I didn't realize that there were adults who believed in God until I was about 11 or 12 years old. I had always assumed it was like Santa Clause, something adults told children to make them feel good about life.

In the past, the vast majority of the US believed in witches. In the past the vats majority of the US believed sickness was caused by either the Devil's tricks or God's anger.

No offense, but what the vast majority of Americans believe is not necessarily the greatest indicator of what is true.
