From September 6, 1977. A Tuesday night, no less! Attendance: 69,093. This was during an exciting period for Montreal sports, with the Als and Expos both moving to the Big O, which hosted that year's Grey Cup, and the Canadiens taking another Stanley Cup. All three teams' games were televised by the CBC, along with the GC and Stanley Cup Playoffs. And yeah, I know all about K-Tel and those compilation albums where 20 songs were shoehorned onto one record. Lyrics and verses had to be edited out.
Ironically for all of the Grey Cups the Toronto Argonauts have won over the last century the most popular coach in their history never won one at all. (Leo Cahill.) Gotta love those light blue unis and the sailboat helmet.
look at the fans smoking....those were the days

@FRSFreeStateES my favorite CFL rivalry is Eskimos-Stampeders.

when did they put the roof on the Big O ? Why don't the Alouettes play there anymorr, its not like the Expos need it, hahah
indyfan22k 1 year ago
@indyfan22k The roof was fully installed in 1987.
The Larks do play their playoff games at l'éléphant blanc, but that's pretty much it.
