600 angry people came to the EPA Ft Worth Water Quality/hydraulic fracturing meeting last Thursday. Story after story people claimed their wells went bad AFTER the natural gas drilling started. This vid is about a TX underground oil spill that needs cleanup. Fastforward to the surge today in natural gas drilling and the lack of vapor recovery units in place and the concern of toxic produced water and the sheer volume of fresh water needed to frac just onewell...up to 5 million gallons.

For one thing: President Jimmy Carter was right on the money at the time; Solar Panels on the White House roof.

Oil Imports would drop. When Ronald Reagan took office, he ordered the Solar Panels removed from the roof of the White House, Oil Imoprts would rise.

Wind Turbines are not going up fast enough. Especially since few can afford them - including Solar Panels.

@Modeltrainguy Hear hear, Modeltrainguy! What U said! U speak for me. I'm so glad you mentioned Jimmy Carter here. In my opinion he was one of the US's best presidents. The conservation measures he pushed for & got implemented: more energy efficient buildings, higher CAFE standards for vehicles, etc have saved this country untold billions over the years. Too bad ppl just think of him as a weak president that didn't want to rescue the US hostages in Iran militarily even tho he did try that route.

@JixMa By looking it up briefly, it appears there is a requirement for Oil Tankers to be double hulled, but for some reason there are exemptions. Hopefully since the spill was in a slow flowing river (supposedly) they will be able to contain the spill and clean it up before it starts flowing out to sea.
