@SandKnowHow Average consumers dont care about games and if they did they would get a games console. Yes WINDOWS runs more games, can someone please compare anything else like video editting on PCs is better because you can overclock and use Nvidia CUDA (since apple invented OpenCl and doesnt want to use CUDA, thus no nvidia gpus) making faster render times. Also that you can get a more powerful workstation than a mac pro, and still use Adobe CS5, which is what most films are edited on.

@Angelscarpwns A PC of the EXACT same hardware as a Mac...would run WoW the EXACT same. Even though for the price of a mac mini you could get a much better all round PC. Mac was better in 2007, but it is 2011 now...and PC components have advanced 10 fold and are much cheaper than Mac. It is the same for pre-built computers like Alienware, they are overpriced. My PC I built myself(which is simple) is much better than an alienware, even though it is literally half the price.

tbh i don't really care about mac vs windows

i mean i prefer windows due to the fact that:

a) its cheaper and as a student i don't have much money atm

b) i don't really need the stuff you get with a mac eg. iLife

c) windows 7 is pretty damn decent

but in the future, i wouldn't just dismiss one over the other, i'd consider both as equals, weigh up what i needed at that time, then make my decision based on that...

@csisfun I you ever start to grow up though speaking of time wasted; you will come to the realization that playing games is a waste of time. IT's also a dumb argument because Mac plays most the major games now like WOW anyway. Luckily I don't play ANY games as I quite playing them and got a life. That's why I am getting A mac I don't CARE about playing the latest 3d games. Also PCS become very EXPENSIVE as well if you have to have the latest hardware to play NEW graphic demanding games.

@reflectorr88 Macs can also be (by smart users) heavily command based with the terminal etc. Which is based a lot of unix/linux there are virtually an equal amount of productivity programs for both os's now. This is a retarded argument as it depends on what you want to do. I run two versions of linux, and Windows 7 Ubuntu 10.10 and Back track 4 and WINDOWS 7 on my computer. Back track 4 is for penetration testing/ for good and bad hackers and is a way better system for it's PURPOSE.

@reflectorr88 Yes true I am using linux backtrack to post this right now, however I must also point out that for "average users" Mac for many may be a better option simply for the fact it's less prone to malware; windows as an advantage does have the greatest software compatibility though so if you play games or need to run a lot of software yes windows wins easily; I use windows for dictation software. I use linux for other things I run 3 os's 4 if you include xp running in virtual box.
