Did you buy and bow tie looking remote (grey remote)? If so those remotes only will work with the far right button on the older genie intellicode models. They do not make a 3 button remote anymore that will work with older models.
We have two garage doors with older model Genie Intellicode receivers and received a Genie Intellicode 3-button transmitter to program ourselves (we are renters). The method you describe here works for only Door 1, and only on Button 1 - no matter what. Door 2 does not program via Button 2 or 3. Meanwhile, Door 1's LED light lights up to any button pressed, even though only Button 1 opens the door. Seems strange. Can you help program multiple doors that have the same model receiver?
@Condemned82 Ugh, I can't get mine to work either. The idiots who sold us our house took the remotes to Seattle or some crap and threw them in the Puget Sound I guess just to spite us... My model is 1996 and I can't find anywhere a remote that works. There is no guide or anything online that I can find. Genie garage door openes suck big time.
@condemned82. I had the same problem i justed moved into a new house and we don't have garage remotes. I pressed the black button on the genie and then I held middle button on the garage remote for ten seconds. I hope that helps you out.
I 've tried the method you've showed on the first garage numerous times, but it doesn't seem to response to the remote. what should i do next? Please help.
Zonda I pressed the black button on the genie and then I held middle button on the garage remote for ten seconds. That worked for me I hope that helps you.
Ditto to res20kgg. couldn't even find the "learn code" button. still doesn't work. Light keeps blinking fast, but much further along than I was with their instructions.
I've been trying to program the remote, using the directions that came with the remote, for about 40minutes and could not find the "learn code" button. Thanks to your vid, I found the button in a matter of seconds and my garage door opener and remote are working. THANKS SO MUCH!!!!!!!!!!!
HaHa I thought it blew up lol.. nice video though
