  • Interesting cover, although I've always thought that it's better performed with a bit of angst. It'll be cool to hear it like that with just the piano like that though.

  • The cover is good, but it kinda fails in the way that the music doesn't reflect the lyrics (or maybe the other way around).

The lyrics should serve the music to get its message forward. If it's a message of rage and/or anger, then you put in some anger-inducing lyrics for everything to sound stronger.

While a chill-outish version of a song intended to cause rage and anger is original; it doesn't really sound like should.

  • beautiful voice.

    beautiful girl :)

  • Way, way too many dislikes from people who didn't even give it a chance. It's not the original but it's a good version of it.

  • some of the lines dont fit the smoothness of this song. for example: And now im naked... stands out a bit with the tempo lol

  • the one of the best cover for this song.

  • ださい

  • Song isn't bad but the video could have been made alot darker.....

  • liked more this version than the original!!!

  • I cant believe 318 ppl dont like this i like this version a lot better than the smashing pumpkins version and I like that band

  • Thankfully the energy of her singing isn't matched with the crowd in the background, I think that did alot visually for the song

  • Nice cover, artistically sweet

  • omg just heard this on stickam radio station and i had to ask google who has covered bullet with butterfly wings and this vid came up and omg i am in love! i always love artist who do more then just cover a song, frida makes this her own and owns it :) amazing beautiful cover

  • "Now I'm naked"

    God, girl, I wish..

  • A realy awesome song in a realy awesome version. Almost start crying like a baby everytime i here it

  • mmm... she has courage.

  • Heh, lots of puritists here. This is alot better than the original tho :D

  • I'm a huge Smashing Pumpkins fan. Hearing someone cover one of their songs pisses me off, because they are usually horrible. But this is beautiful. Nothing like the original but I think that's why it works so well. This version strikes an entirely different emotion than the original, in the best way possible.

  • It's a great song, for which Billy gets credit -- and she does a great rendition.

  • The Smashing Pumpkins are my all time favorite band. With that being said, this rendition of BWBW is excellent. I don't like covers that are basically the same versions of the originals. This cover brings different emotions that the original didn't. Which makes it, in my opinion, a great cover. Not to mention how incredibly fine she is!

  • I think the original and this version are both AMAZING in there own way

  • the first one had anger rage which is great. and this one is sad and depresing. but in my opinion the smashing pumpkins is way better

  • prime

  • Go röst du har..

  • compare this guys....

if this was an original song made today in this version, teenagers and adults who like a little bit of country(this song has a country vibe to it) would go crazy for this...

if this song were written by billy in these times, im sorry to say that this song wouldnt sell :/ too much synthesized bullshit to where people playing real instruments with real skill cant find their place in the music industry...

  • This is a good cover really. I didn't expect it. I don't like the video but the song itself is nice.

  • She Looks Like Billy Corgans Daugter :L *(I Know He Hasnt Got One) Btw Shes Amazing

  • Beautiful

  • not for me

  • @zander8605 i agree men a covr its not about playing the same its about showing how you ll play it

  • I dunno, I like her voice, but i LOVE SP...

  • Great song, very nice voice, I know her a long time and still like to listen to her. Thank You Ajson07 for hanging here.

  • Hmm, a comment seems to have disappeared:

If you're interested in seeing creativity hard at work, check out when Frida together with Freddie Wadling had to come up with a song from scratch in only a a couple of hours during some Swedish TV program. Search for "Flow My Ashes".

  • Correction, just "Flow My Ashes".

  • Not bad, I like the idea of this being done after the SP version, the calm depression after Billy's rage.

  • She saw pretty deep into the song and did her own thing. Good work on her part.

  • Well, colour me blind, but I like this a lot more than original - I think it's the melancholy in her voice and the piano softly tiptoeing through the melody that does it for me.

Or maybe it's just an age thing. You can't stay young and angry forever. :-)

  • Great cover. But I definetely prefer the original one.

After all, this is a song which is supposed to be full of anger and fear. She made something good, but Billy's version is the best.

  • well, i can't speak for others, and you can delete this if you want to. i think this is a beautiful rendition of this song.

  • Calm and Chaos an interesting notion

  • She really has the heart of the song.

    Very well done.

  • she has a beautiful voice but this isnt her song

  • more passon in it better than hawthorne heights doing the song

  • LOVE IT!!! Frida Snell puts a melancholy passion into this song that was missing in the Smashing Pumpkins version... BRAVO!!!

  • sarebbe una bella canzone tutto sommato se non contassimo l originale

  • i like her voice :D

Quite different to smashing pumpkins original but still pretty good :)

  • u guys justr dont get it. this is really cool, the original is awesome but this is good. its about stepping away from what u usually expect, this works. i like it. prefer the original but this is good. music is about experimenting and trying different shit man

  • This cover is about a slow cold burning rage. If you have not experienced it yet, you will.

Either way this is a great song.

  • Wow this song sucks

This is a song about anger

    But where is the rage?

this song misses much energy! We want Smashing Pumpkins!!!

  • You don't have to be aggressive to show anger, there are a few people that when they get quite is when I know to shut the hell up

  • non si puo sentire...

  • NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

  • Ablutophobic: Disc industry marketing wolves who can not comprehend music at all, they just do not give a damn, all tehy care os money, the World would be so much better without marketing.

  • This covers is missing everthing that made the orginal awsome. I don't understand it, I guess I'm just not picking up on the energy of the song.

  • Man you guys are pricks. IMO, SP is the best band ever and this cover can't even compare to the original. But, it's a good song. It has it's own way of expressing the same words. Instead of anger, depression. It fits very well. And just because you don't agree doesn't give you the right to call her a bitch.

  • @TheMacMan1142 Thank You, The Smashing Pumpkins is the greatest band in the history of music. Its also a pretty good cover to the song

  • she is a very great singer and piano player this is true art i almost cryed bcause it was so sad and perfect

  • Not bad!! But smashing pumpkins is much better.

  • This is an awesome cover.

  • I like Fridas version much more than the original!!!

  • wow, you obviously like dick in your mouth too

  • Hmm..this is really good...for a cover..she did it her own way..and i think for her it worked..it ma be missing rage..but i think she replaced it with hopelessness..as in ..."dispite all my rage im still just a rat in a cage" meaning no matter how pissed we are were screwed...hopelessness....i like it...its not as good to me as the origional but its good

  • The idea of playing that song in another way is great, why not ? But in that case it's just not well done.

Not a reason to call her a bitch though...

  • better than the original because billy corgans voice sounds like a cat in heat

  • I like when songs I like are interpreted and performed in interesting and creative ways.

  • I completely agree with you zander8605, I love hearing different takes on the same lyrics. Though, I do think that the idea for the video doesn't fit the song at all.

  • @zander8605

    jep

    never try to compare!

i listened to a version (piano, vox) for days and well...i can't get enough of GOOD covers!!!

  • Absolutely. It's not a soft little piano song...I suppose if she felt the way Billy Corgan felt, she might of been able to do a half decent job.

    Hmph.

  • love it

  • i love it, i always have

  • i love it!

  • LOVE it. Nice spin on a great song. please keep posting

  • love it

  • trippy..i love this girl for doing this....s.p version is still cooler

  • Love it! Its so different from the original that its Ok as its not trying to copy the originals tone and idea, really good!!

  • Completely different, doesn't mean its bad.

  • love it...both of them...

  • wow, great take on the song! You can tell she totally hears it differently... music is wonderful.

  • I like Frida's cover more then the original

  • When I clicked on this song...and heard the first few words...All I could say was...

    Wow...Just..wow...

I am still just absorbing this version...

  • I Like both Versions!

  • She turns a turgid, whiny, corny, fuzzy, lame rock number into a nice, moody ballad.

    Kudos!

(The Spongebob Squarepants youtube goof on the Smashing Pumpkins original is all it deserves.)

  • Ajson07

I agree. Some words are outrageous, but this is internet. This is a nice song! As JJ Cale once said. `did he really do my song`. When mr Clapton did his cocain´..

  • I thought it was a pretty interesting interpretation.

  • i like it. would be better if they got rid of all the idiots in the background :)

  • decent cover.

  • Seems like you people just dont understand the fine art of making good covers.

  • You people have obviously never heard of a quiet rage. This is a beautiful cover.

  • hmmmm

  • This is the best cover ever. It's beautiful.

  • I've commented once before but I'm gonna say it again.

She's not trying to be Billy Corgan. It's distinct because she's doing a melodic version of a great song. Corgan goes for the jugular while she goes for the heart.

  • this is so good. you retards make comments like you think se was trying på make it sound exactly like the original. this is a COVER faks....

  • wonderfull..

  • This cover is one of the best I've ever heard! Listen to this desperate, silent rage - the deepest rage there is. Hidden inside this deceptively beautiful form.

  • ca sert a rien c'est merdique ca pue elle est moche elle peut se jeter aux goudes

  • hm

    i love it :)

    no rage i agree

but she feels the words i feel

  • this is sorta weird, the cover. but it's not bad, per se and hey, as long as billy's getting paid, it's all good in the neighbourhood.

  • different...but i liked it 5/5

  • doing a good cover of a great song does not mean to sing it the same way but to do it great, Frida Snell is just so amazin...angel voice & super cover!!!

  • LOVE SP and love this version too!!!!!

  • i loved this, great work miss

  • i love the pumpkins, and i think its hard to compare billys voice to any other on this planet, but i have to say she does a pretty good job- especially the chorus

  • umm this is very good,,,u bitches only wish you could sing like her...

  • this song made me cry dont know why mabye its cause i shot my self with a glock 5 times in my stomach

  • fuck all you closed minded ass holes.

    this is really really good.

probably the best SP cover ive heard.

you can seriously feel the emotion.

    its great.

  • I love covers that totally change the tone and feel of the original; this is excellent!

  • I heard this version before I heard the Smashing Pumpkins version. And I actually like this one more, because this is what I've become accustomed to. Didn't realize anyone else sang the song..

  • "Isn't supposed to"? - that comes off as pretty pretentious actually.

  • Not trying to be. Most music's lyrics are tied in with the accompanying instruments, so they are in a sense a reflection of one another building upon each other. It's something the Pumpkins were particularly good at in their music.

Frida, despite having an amazing voice, is only presenting half the song at best, because it lacks the power that the music that went with the words had.

  • Music's interpretation is in the eyes of the beholder - what you consider a defined feel is not necessarily for others .Personally if I wanted to hear a "sweet song", I'd go elsewhere; my point being I'm not a fan of this version, however I do consider what she's done as a "sweetened feel" , in key, technically sound. The riff to 'Smoke On The Water' is actually a Mozart piece played in reverse, ie:classical music reformated. Whether that is right or wrong is up to you, not everyone else. :)

  • Right on dude. i think version is awesome, just b/c it's a different genre doesnt mean it sucks. this song's well produced as well.

  • despite what rage? this broad shows no passion- the entire meaning of the song is lost. the problem is, though, if this gets played on the radio, people will buy it. it sickens me

  • It definately isn't the worst cover :d

Not my favourite, but not bad either

  • I kinda like it. If an artist absolutely have to do a cover version of a song, I like it when they take that song and make it their own, instead just duplicating the original

  • Is this version bad??

    I don't think so.

In this version of this great song I still see all us humans meessing the essential... God.

  • there trying to modernize a grunge song by adding a piano and a singer who is just stupid bimbo retard to make it sound pretty, it just doesn't fuckin work.

  • Video poster, call me ignorant or what you want, but this is an example of just taking away all the connotative emotion of a song to achieve some sort of cheap "class". This song obviously wasn't meant to be played like this. The instruments used suggest a redemptive quality, although this is the exact opposite of the point of the song. There's no driving force. The song is great. This interpretation lacks so much of the original though. It's kind of like the lyrics conflict the instrumentation.

  • this version is a piece of shit

  • Well, the song is quiete well performed and she's got a great voice. But (!) this cover doesn't transports all the anger and rage which sticks in the Original and that is why the song loses its purpose.

  • This is my fav song!

  • People who listen to Rock or metal are the most ridiculous fans in the world. There idea of praise is to tell their favorite artist they're a sell out. Great voice and cover btw

  • We ARE the most ridiculous fans, but it isn't a bad thing. We expect our favorite band to be innovative yet consistent at the same time. IF they change too much, Either they've stopped working out of their soul, or their current state of being has seriously changed. If the former, its selling out. If they aren't innovative though, they're generic. Generic bands aren't interesting in the slightest. My criticisms of other genres are that they're consistently generic.

  • The video is great, the version is great. You dont rock but it's different and that is the way a cover should be. This as a clear mix of swesish anxiety and norhern moods....

  • I don't listen to music like this because I hate it. The whole reason "Bullet With Butterfly Wings" is so awesome is how emo and freaky it is. This is the exact opposite. You can probobly guess what I was going to say next.

  • i don't really like it, but the original would sound cool if, in place of the clean guitar before the last chorus, there was that piano playing for this chorus

  • fuck me with me with a chainsaw, this isn't as good as Billy.

  • Is this version bad?... I don't think so.

This song is great and this version too.

I still see all us humans feeling lost and missing the essential (God).

  • O.O...Poor Smashing Pumpkins!! Ma daaai!! Non si può prendere una canzone come quella a rifarla così!...sembra una 'canzunella'!

  • how the HELL did Billy Corgan allow her to sing this???

I mean she has a nice voice... but what is up with this video??? People dancing? Does she even understand the meaning behind the lyrics?

Oooo I must ask BC about this.

    Sorry mega SP fan here.

  • I think you don't understand the Video... everyone is dacing... but she isn't, she seems to be alone cause nobody understands her... thought about that?

And yeah I'm a huge Fan of SP too, but I like own intapretations in covers.

  • I'd think she doesn't understand the situation... If you want to look at it that way, she's kind of overdressed for the occasion.

  • FUCKING SWEET

    awesome awesome awesome

    this is fucking awesome

  • I seriously hope this cover was a joke. It's bad on a level I've not ever considered before. Sure, good voice, utterly shameful interpretation of a song which is sung with all the passion and gentle first touch of the hangman.

  • I dunno it's probably all in how you listen to the words...

    "even though i know

i suppose i'll show all my cool...

despite all my rage i'm still just a rat in a cage."

Those lyrics indicate feeling rage that has to be pent up in a way. So, to do a calm version is really a nice interpretation of the lyrics, I think.

But the original IS and always will be absolute amazing hardcoreness!

  • Dio mio è orribile

  • So, so, so F'ing terrible! I wish I would've never laid my eye on this dumb B&!@#ch. Get your own song. OMG! I don't know if I should laugh or cry!

  • This is stupid.

  • I dont like this version, but i dont care because frida is sooo hoooot :)

  • in this version there's just nothing left of this great song!!!

  • Good interpretation! Shut up loosers, make it better!

  • hahahaha!! f*ucking shit yeah!

  • I personally don't like a bit this version... I think that it doesn't represent the rage she's talking about... but hey... anyone can find it's own meaning to any song, we're nobody to judge people...

  • better than the original....

  • you guys...

if you can't say anything nice ,then then dont say anything at all.

    Just kidding.

This sucks.don't like her at all!

  • THAT'S HORRIBLE!! IT SUCKS!! OMG!!

wheres the rage shes pretending to talk about?? THIS IS RAGE, DAMN!! go back being a model.

  • YOU RAGE YOU LOSE!

  • Whoa!!! This sucks the big one! How does this exist?

  • OK seriously I hate posting bad cmnts bad this S-U-C-K-S

  • this sucks

  • why compare it to Pumpkins in the first place? this is an interpretation, not a bad copy.

but i do prefer Pumpkins...they've made a few more good songs ; )

  • Sorry, don't want to see a model doing an awesome Pumpkins song. Can't give this my blessing.

  • I love this song! The original is good, but I like this version better ;-). Okay, she does not scream the text out, but she sure has intensity in her voice!

  • Holy sweet Jesus. This is amazing. I love hearing cover songs where the artist changes whole feel of the song.

  • Sorry but you cant just sweetly hum lines like "despite all my rage i am still just a rat in a cage". You gotta scream that shit, i.e. "rage". EPIC SWEDE-FAIL!

  • solid cover, her voice makes it. don't dogg on this, agreed it isn't the pumpkins but obviously because is a fcuking cover.

  • Nice Job

    Thanks for posting

  • This is really beautiful...

  • yeah, this is ok, but c'mon, which would prefer?

    A) A sweet little swede singing a hate-filled song?

    or

    B) a a scary and voldermort-like alt-rocker singing a hate-filled song that he wrote?

    i know what i'd prefer

  • I'll take B...thank you

  • yeah sorry to say dude definatley B

  • which is what i mean. i don't like this version more than the old one. billy corgan rocks.

  • voldermort? jesus christ you little faglettes really can't appreciate music if you can't appreciate this, and i guarantee billy himself shit his pants when he heard this cover. although i'll admit the ending is a letdown.

  • To hell with option A, but for al that is holy, please do not tell me you are trying to compare Billy to a Harry Potter character... thats just sad.

  • but he does look a little like him... and i think that doesn't detract from his music in any way.

  • This sounds even better than the Smashing Pumpkins, if that's possible.

  • I love this song... and I think the way Frida delivre it is great ... it's such a powerful song and she did it her way... lot of smoothness and feelings... Made me concentrate on the lyrics... good job!

  • i've loved the pumpkins for years and i dig this. its a different vibe

  • this is stupid and pointless! It's sad that a lot of people, including this frida, don't realise this cover completely butcheres the original pumpkins' song. Why don't they just leave good songs alone? Anyway, a big fuck you to this cover!

  • This is a piece of S...t!!!

  • yeah, shes a fine singer, but this song requires a little more raw anger and passion. It just dosent work.
