Kernel Panics are always caused by RAM. With gskill crappy RAM, I got two kernel panics in one day. Now, with crucial, no kernel panics at all. I learned this from an owner of about 11 powermacs and mac pros.

and apparently when macs shutdown it defragments the disk

which avoids long defragmentations and startups check something else i forget but with a mac pro i doubt its a problem with a mac pro

Ooh, I would never get a Dell printer. You have to order cartridges from Dell, and while the printers are relatively cheap, the ink isn't, and there is no other place to get ink other than through Dell. That's why I like my HP :D
