Intel owns the fastest quad core CPU to this day, so Intel is not really considered "shit". I got my QX9650 brand new for $359.99 off Amazon on my XFX nForce 750i board, it sure was worth the money. AMD owns the fastest GPU's as of right now, so I don't go along with the whole ATI vs NVIDIA, or the AMD vs Intel nonsense...

Also, they aren't douche bags like Intel who tell many other companies to not buy from AMD with some bargain. 80% of people who use computer buy intel products but yet intel wants 100%. intel isn't a monopoly either, specifically because of amd. amd is a problem because they create comparable chips and incomparable prices. real enthusiasts know that intel today is not faster, amd's 12 core and 8 core cpus perform better than all of intel's while being around $500 cheaper, over 1ghz lower operating speed, less power consuming, and quadruple memory channel. i7s are only faster in programs that handle less threads, because they use much higher frequencies
