  • You shouldn't relax your shoulders when your hanging at the bottom position! your shoulders should always be tight very important!!

  • "strength, as well as power" What???

  • it's not required to get your chin up above the bar, go as high as you can even if it is below the bar it's fine

  • he said to look straight at the wall for the pull-up, but other videos tell you to look up at the bar, so what's correct?

  • @nohkra I always look up, otherwise it puts a lot of tension on my neck. I'd probably go with the majority.

  • does it matter which side ur palm faces?

  • @heartbreakdrakemusic yes he did a chin up pams towards you is a pull up hes wrong

  • @mepizzasmangled Nope, he did a pull-up in the video, chin-up is the one with the palms towards you :)

  • chuck norris can do infinity oull ups

  • is it ok if do i pull up to my chest i do those more often

    my lats are uneven lol

  • I am not so srtong but i used to do pull ups all the summer and a bit more so thery arent hard at all

  • press 1 nonstop

  • man, i'm quite strong but i find pull ups impossible xD

  • Legs skinny, arms FREAKIN MASSIVE

  • @SokaSua HAHAHAHA hellll yeeeeeeee upper body strength!

  • Bring this comment to top so expertvillage knows that they NEED TO MAKE THEIR TUTORIALS LONGER AND MORE IN DEPTH INTO EXPLANATION

  • I'm 13 and can do 88 of them from dead hang, 203lbs, solid muscle from DEAD HANG STRICT, NO DOPE, NOTHING!

Check me out, I have the video proof at my channel this time! XD

  • @AndyHarglesis my ass lol

  • I'm 13 and can do 88 of them from dead hang, 203lbs, nod rugs.

  • @AndyHarglesis Lol, bullshit.

  • @AndyHarglesis yeah..... and I train with Dwayne Johnson everday -_-

  • @Nonlethal106 I actually did see him in a gym once. :D

  • Good tutorial. Simple, but to the point, without a buttload of BS on the side.

  • you dont necessarily have to get your chin to the bar just go as high as you can

  • 0:00 to skip ad

  • @AGazaMiSeh working out doesnt mess with your growth

    -Red Foreman

  • @TheIncredibleSquish

    That '70s Show

  • @TheIncredibleSquish ha i just seen that episode yesterday XD

  • I can't do many pull ups because my fingers cant hold on to the bar long enough for me to do them. I can only do 4 before my fingers give in, my biceps and back feel like I can do a couple more but my fingers are just to tired from the 4 pull ups. How can I strenghen my fingers to do more pull ups?

  • @punktheman

Then buy a gloves you idiot. Don't buy the expensive crap at modells or the weight store- cause those mofo always sell it expensive and its the same thing as the $2 construction worker gloves. Go buy a gloves at th corner store. You can also cut off the part that you don't need. So it fit half of your fingers instead the full length of your fingers.

  • Thumbs up to fuck off McDonalds for advertising on a fitness video!!!!

  • Initiate the squeeze!

  • I can do now 20 like that so what i should do to come to 30?

  • I started pull-ups recently and was going great. Last week I gotta sore shoulder. Could you tell me what the most common injury from pull-ups is, how to heal it (how long to stay off exercise0 and how to prevent it happening again. Sorry for a ball-breaker question first up, but I was doing OK and I wanna get back to it soon.

  • @mistersmith6000 soreness is great. It means you had a great workout. However, if it's joint pain you're experiencing, stop immediately and go to a physician.

  • i hate it at school when some guys in my class did 10-11 pull ups but their arms were only half straighten and they teacher still counted it as though it is a standard pull up.

  • There are lot of ineffective ways to do pullups. for example some use their legs to swing the body up. I tried that, and I can do like 10 full pullups, but when I use the legs It's 16, even more sometimes.

  • its best that when u pull up u look at the selling cause it helps focusing on getting up

  • Ok so what is an exercise to do to work up to the pull up I'm like 6'-6'3" not sure and I weigh 207 so it's kinda hard to do it

  • @perseusbeatkraken You can still try this by using a chair thats a little front of you and using one foot on the chair while doing the pull up. Then to intensify this try taking ur foot off the chair at the top of the pull up and slowly coming back down.

  • I can do 6 from the underhand grip hanging but I'm a chubby 7th grader and had to work up to it. 5'8'' and 145lbs :(

  • @UnicornHuntingSkater lol im 5'8 7th grade 120 muscles yeah

  • This is weird

I can do about 4 pull ups but not from a dead hang.

Can't do even 1 from a dead hang.

    so

tried the negative exercises for 1 day and my shoulders are on fire. feels good.

  • Im 16 , and no one cares how many pull ups I can do .. :)

  • @nikaragva300 i understand

  • suuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuureeeeeee

  • @LotharSB I can, the OP can't.

  • @AndyHarglesis suuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuureeeeeeeeee

  • im 12 and i can also do 78 pull ups

  • @ershayy In your mind, sure. I can do them in reality though, so keep lying. :P

  • I can also do 13 one-armed pull ups from dead hang as well.

  • @AndyHarglesis I doubt you could do 78 pull ups without using momentum. Even so, once you go past around 15 reps, you aren't doing your muscles any favours anyway. Only your durability.

  • I'm 13 only, weigh 203lbs of solid, doping free strength and I can do 78 pull ups in a row from dead hang, no momentum and perfect form, drug free.

  • check my extreme pull ups video here:

    /watch?v=KVBZbBG7Juo&feature=channel_video_title

  • thanks:)

  • Hi, great vid thanks, just wondered if there are any down sides of doing this every morning. do you need to give your body rest time? also is there any harm in doing pull ups in the morning at home the attacking the biceps later in the gym the same day?

  • is this really a tutorial on how do pull ups? you grab a bar, and you pull up.

  • @AutoKiller47 Actually you pull down, see how easy it is to fail? Lol.

  • Cool video!

CHeck my page i just made a pull up video!!!

  • too bad im fat...sigh.....

  • I can do 7-8 pull ups,but my forearms give up after that.

  • I can do like 8 without stopping.. Then I just fall to the ground.

  • I can do a few chin-ups but no pull-ups.

  • just call them pull ups and chin ups and you'll always know what is what... pull ups are for shoulders and wide back area (mostly, but hands work too) and chin ups are for biceps and inner back part (and some people can even target chest with chin ups - i know i feel chest after this workout)

  • excellent demo

  • good demo!

  • I cant stop swinging back and forth.

  • @sugmegpls use your core muscles to help with the swinging. The stronger your core, the easier it is to stop swinging.

  • underhand grip is harder on the biceps?

now i understand why my biceps are hurting so much for 3 days

the worst part is i cannot do any pull ups

  • @myytid well duh. couldnt u notice by looking at ur arms?

  • @myytid dont be a pussy

  • @myytid Underhand grip would be a chin up

  • Yeah man!

    Pull Ups are much harder.

  • @WorldExtremeCholo thanks man.

  • Does the over hand grip still work biceps?

  • @batman123989 yes.

  • @batman123989 yes it does chin up(where palm is facing towards you) targets biceps more. Pull ups(palm facing the other way) targets more of your lats

  • somebody please tell me, will a pull up effect the height growth?

  • @456thevineeth no, but it will help support your spine and may gain you up to 1cm

  • @456thevineeth you can gain a foot a year with pull ups

  • @GuLeD92 is that true?

  • back

  • Yeah... Ah hem... I can't do that.

  • @TheAwesomeBear its improve ur back muscle ;)

  • @TheAwesomeBear easy shit there

  • @TheAwesomeBear Thats the spirit!

  • @TheAwesomeBear lol, what he does is indeed abit too hard for beginners. Look how high it is. Start normal, and do more sets by time. Mix that with other workout. If you are doing at home do push ups. With feet on bed, couch or whatever.

  • What muscle parts does it improves?

  • @noviceatall back

mostly tricepts with the pull ups

and bicepts with the reverse grip( chin ups)

  • @KR3W3131 and muscles, right

  • @lasfdog2

all the groups i said are bicepts

  • @KR3W3131 this exercise works bicepts lats forearms and muscles involved with pulling. tricepts are not used during pulling.

  • i weight 135 i left 170 i squat over 230

but i cant do more than wat 10 pull ups !!

  • so. many. long. comments. cannot. read. light. fading.

  • Great explanation

  • I'm 13 and I can do 75 perfect dead hang pull ups in a row, no stop, at 202lbs and 100% DOPE-FREE(not even protein shakes)and no kipping!

  • @AndyHarglesis put a video of it than you liar. No one is impressed by your lies, US NAVY SEAL's who weigh less than 202 have a hard time busting out 25 in a row.

  • @optimistiik That's not my problem. The NAVY SEAL'S suck any ways, being sexist(male and female ones).

  • @AndyHarglesis there are no female Navy seals, Rangers, Delta, or any other type of special forces.

  • @SuperiorCombatant Okay, I just found out that females are not allowed in front line combat forces(which is sexist). This itself does not deny them to be in the Navy, Marines or Armed forces on the regular level though.

    So HAH, sexist!

  • @AndyHarglesis How am I a sexist?I didn't say that they shouldnt be allowed. However,if they want to be "equal"and have the ability to join these forces, the suits in the white house need to make the physical requirements the same male and female. As it is now,the male req is almost double the female physical requirement. You want rights.I want a soldier who has the Strength, agility, and a heart of ice to save fallen comrades and do what has to be done. So far I cant see a female playing the role.

  • @SuperiorCombatant So you're saying a female doesn't have a desire to save dying people? Where did you get that info from? And what do you mean the same requirements? In all regular army, navy and crap branches all the physical requirements are pretty much the same for both sexes, such as push ups, pull ups, bodyweight handling, etc. It's all the same and the requirements are pretty much basic. And girls can have strength, agility and a heart of ice. I see you don't know many girls then... XD

  • @SuperiorCombatant And I'm even going to contact those forces and ask them about those sexist rules they have.

  • @AndyHarglesis lol good luck with that... They arent thinking sexist though. They think the same way I do. They will tell you the same thing.

  • @SuperiorCombatant I did ask the Navy and they told me shit. They just told me to ask congress why the law was passed. And I can't do that(well, it's basically not worth the time asking and waiting so long to hear a sexist answer).

  • @AndyHarglesis lmaooo...nice joke

  • Couldn't see anything. There was a glare coming off your head.

  • i did 4 and pulled my teres minor n major muscles

  • @13andincrediblycutt I'm pretty sure that your comment is missleading in one or more ways.

  • @pllasmac It is not, honestly. :)

  • i can do 1 pull up :D

  • This guy doesn't do them with 100% ROM.

  • A MAN WHO CANT LIFT HIS OWN WEIGHT IS USELESS... Quote from.....

  • @BROVVNlE Sexism.

  • @13andincrediblycut It may be but not what Im looking for....

  • @BROVVNlE so true

theres a good % of north america that cant even lift their own weight

    so sad

  • @crazyhiho Well lots of people don't exercise and have a higher than average bodyweight or are just lazy and weak. Can't blame society blame people.

  • @crazyhiho cause most of north america is obese,

  • @XxXjasonbeckXxX yeah i know, i hate it... its because they dont condition kids, and they make gym classes easier so the kids all get fatter.

  • This is such a great exercise! But: Chinups = underhand, Pullups = overhand. Many people think underhand or overhand is basically the same, but they're really not. I do 15 chinup reps and only about half of that in pullups. Not that any one is harder, they just target very different muscles. I use the exercise mainly for biceps. Between these and push-ups you've pretty much got most of the upper body covered, as they both train core as well.

  • @jesperc20 Yes, pull ups are harder. Ask any one and more than half of all people will tell you that. I know for a fact that pull ups are harder because, one, they use less biceps and more lats and chin ups use both which makes it easier in combinational movements.

  • @13andincrediblycut Well I agree that's probably true for most people, but you still lift exactly the same amount of weight so the total muscle strain is the same. So it's only a matter of how strong your different muscle groups are. If you only trained with pull-ups you would eventually think they are easier than chin-ups. It fully depends on which muscles you want to strengthen most. It's not like added weights or improper form.. but I agree that most people will feel that pullups are harder.

  • @13andincrediblycut Bull SHIT

  • @fallout3geek No, it's not. :P

  • my max on pull ups is also 73 perfect ones in a row with diamond perfect form and dead hang no kips. :)

  • @13andincrediblycut im calling bullshit! Put up a video of you doing 73 pullups and i will believe you.

  • @flipkid2006 I am going to.

  • i can do one arm pull ups from dead hang at 13 only 202lbs and no steriods! :)

  • Meh, whenever I try doing a pull up, it feels like my arms are going to pop out of their sockets.

  • These are "chin ups".

  • im 13 202lbs of solid dope free muscle and power and i can do 73 perfect pull ups in a row, dead hang, bare grip, no kipping, and 100% perfect ROM. :)

  • @13andincrediblycut by the way, im calling bullshit on your gymnastics skills as well! I am an ex-gymnast of 12 years. what skills do you have?

  • @flipkid2006 ALL the kinds you wish you did. :)

  • Take the pull-up challenge at Konkura.com

  • I'm too short to reach it..

  • hi is not doing it right

  • You've helped me a lot, man. Thank you. Great vid.

  • thank you

  • every person i ask if they can do chin ups who work out they say they can do like 18 or 20 do you think there lying? lol

  • I do mine more closed so i get more muscell in my arms than back :b

  • i can do one arm three finger pull ups at 200lbs and 13 years old.

    im 6'4"

  • @13andincrediblycut

Unless you're Yao Ming's love child, there is no way you can be 6'4" at 13 years old.

  • @SSWarrior77Channel Well i am. :)

Nothing will change that fact unless you wanna hit me over the head with a mallet or some thing! ;)

  • @13andincrediblycut

Lol as what people said on your channel,if you really are that buff superman, make a video to prove it.

  • @SSWarrior77Channel i will soon sub me if u want

  • @13andincrediblycut

No I wont sub you, troll.

  • @SSWarrior77Channel I'm not a troll. I promise. :)

  • @SSWarrior77Channel This guy is a troll. He is on every video of this kind and makes ridiculous claims like, "I can do six one-arm dead hang pullups all the way up and down, no momentum, perfect form. I'm 6' 4" 13 years old large frame all muscle." The guy is full of shit as he posts no videos whatsoever. I'm out to stop him and i'm gathering followers to facilitate a full scale attack. Join my cause. We must end this trolls way of life!!!!!!!

  • @wafflecushioned

    K I will.

  • @wafflecushioned They're real claims.

  • your full of shit

  • @ProFishingGuys No, I'm not.

    Disbeliever. :P

  • haha we coo we coo

  • @ProFishingGuys We cool? :)

  • yea we cool

  • I do 3 series with 10 repetiotions at the gym should I use weight someone tell me pls

  • @ivoandsumi Yes, if you can do 3 sets of 10 reps with your body weight you need to start adding extra weight... and when you can do 3 sets of 10 repetitions with the extra weight its time to add even more weight. Thats the ONLY way you'll get stronger and bigger

  • search "Insane strength push-ups and pull-ups, the real deal" to see how practice makes OMFG.

  • Great video. Would love to c all that done on rings, after deadlifts 800 meter run. I know these men could do this just want to c it

  • this is the ultimate exercise, last year i could barley do 2 in a row, now after heaps of practice/training i can do 45 to cadence, full extensions, I’m 111kg (240lbs) and 6'4. I found that I really gives you power but most importantly muscle endurance! No point being able to bench 100+kg if you can’t do pull-ups or push-ups to a decent standard.

  • omg

  • pull ups are a bitch to do , im on this workout that makes me 100 every 3rd day . it does help get definition though. if you want a stronger back, arms forearms and anyother upper body strenght try it in at lest a couple of weeks you will see and feel the difference

  • Chickenlegs

  • im 13 200lbs and i can manage to do 72 in a row from dead hang. impressive?

  • @13andincrediblycut

youve put that on every pull up video ive seen, shut the fuck up

  • @elementskater94 im not lying imma upload the vids soon.

  • @13andincrediblycut - Horseshit. Let's see a video, asshole.

  • I lack a few months to 16 years and I eat it to do pull ups but after making the lumbar area of my back is much peanuts that is not to warm up before or is still too young to do and does harm to my back, I weigh 60 kilos and 1.77 m, who is helping me understand this subject, thanks

  • so you are supposed to fully extend your arms? i see a lot of people that dont, i guess cause its way harder.
