I think that "Sam" had a major lightbulb moment. He wanted The Renatas to like him that without realizing it, he pushed them into "disliking" him. He overstepped his boundaries over and over again because he used his Salesman's Technique because it worked in the past. However, he may have resented the fact that Renata had a "Real" Family and he didn't.

Great scene. I like how Danny Aiello completely takes control of the situation. It just feels real. He's such an underrated actor. I've been following his work since his great performance as Sal in Do The Right Thing.

I'd like to see Danny Aiello singing "Fly Me to the Moon" and "The Glory of Love" from this movie. I like the movie although Richard Dreyfuss' character is not very likable. Kind of boorish and overbearing, but it's a full character and we discover why he is that way. He is well-meaning and pushy at the same time. Like Mom.
