And you can find traces of this in many songs... The reference to the Yellow Submarine in Suersonic, the intro to 'Don't look back at anger' (almost exactly as Lennon's Imagine), the ending to 'She's electric', the poster in the stand by me vid & others..I love Oasis, but The Beatles are the real deal, the real innovators.

This song has balls.Notice how George uses a Gibson SG.Before this point we really only saw the Beatles with semi hollow body guitars. The Rickenbakers ,The Epiophone Casino [ John plays one in this video ] or George with a Gretch. The SG [solid guitar] really gives this song a harder sound.No this is not hard rock by any means but it does have an edgier sound different from previous Beatles recordings.
